The gathered press waited eagerly for the Prime Minister, Cameron Davies, to appear. There had been word that a major announcement was about to be made and the media was abuzz with what could be happening, the Emperess consort might be pregnant, or there might be a new development in the ELE crown dispute, which the Emperor himself, was deeply involved in. The High Council Press Secretary, John Naylor, approached the crowd of microphones and began, "Ladies and gentlemen of the media, the Prime Minister will make speak for a few minutes, he will not be answering questions at this time. Now ladies and gentlemen, the Prime Minister to His Imperial Majesty, William V, Cameron Davies." Flash bulbs popped as the Prime Minister made his way to the podium and began his address, "Good day ladies and gentlemen. Not too long ago, His Imperial Majesty initiated joint talks with The Empire of Xosaia and The Holy Kingdom of Justosia concerning a joint defense treaty between all three nations. We are happy to report that the talks were successful and that an agreement has been reached. The Emperor is happy to report that the Imperial Legislature has agreed to the treaty and at no time was there threat of a people's veto. The Royal heads of both Xosaia and Justosia will arrive in Solaria for a joint head of state summit, where the treaty creating the Pan-Alterran Treaty Organization will be signed. The text of the treaty is being made public as I speak to you and each of your press offices will have copies by the time I am finished speaking. The Emperor will great his fellow royals once they arrive and the treaty summit will happen shortly after. The Emperor has rented out Solaria's top two hotels, the Grand Palace and the Esprit de Pais for the disposal of our foreign guests. That is all for now, but the Imperial government will make further updates soon. Thank you." The camera flashes went into overdrive as the Prime Minister left the podium and exited the room while the throng of reporters shouted questions at him. The talk of the new treaty had been kept safely under wraps until the announcement and the news had taken everybody by surprise. Things in Rathtinia would definitely be lively in the upcoming days and weeks. |

![]() Solaria International Airport. 1:15 P.M. Rathtinia was in for a surprise, as touching down on the tarmac wasn't His Royal Majesty King Francisco II, BUT HER Royal Majesty Queen Maria Francesca Francisco II. Her husband the King was totally consumed by the new national revelation back home, only just now broke to her as well, that Jerusalem is Justosia's mother country, direct descendant. Such a top national matter did warrant the King's full personal attention she conceded to herself tho. The PM was originally to be sent, but Justosia promised their royalty for this grand event, and royalty Rathtinia would indeed get. "My beloved people, subject, aides. I am eager to show my husband, our King, that I too am more than just the grandest house wife on Alterra. Let I, us conduct ourselves with the utmost efficiency, and dignity here. We should keep our wits about us. I love peace and quiet, the life, but I wish to show our nation, and all Alterra, that the crown I wear isn't JUST a pretty gem for show either. Let us depart." The Queen addressed as she was applauded by all the jet. Her royal entourage of 4 Royal Guards, and 8 hand maidens began the royal procession off the Royal II official jet and onto Rathtinian soil.... |

His Imperial Highness, William V, stood patiently on the tarmac of Solaria International airport. As he waited for the newly arrived plane's passengers to disembark, he finished reading the contents of the dossier that his intelligence chief had given him just as the plane was about to land. The Emperor thought to himself, "The Jerusalem situation must be bigger than I thought." He handed off the dossier off to an aide as the plane door opened. Standing behind him was his wife, Empress Katherine, along with his Prime Minister, Cameron Davies, and his Foreign Minister Melina Skouros. The Emperor wanted to impress his guests, so a full company of the Imperial Guard along with a multitude of Royal Security Service agents made their presence known. A line of stretch limos were parked less than 20 yards away, waiting to take the newly landed guests to the Esprit de Pais hotel, which had been rented out entirely for the Justosians. As the Queen descended the plane's steps, the Emperor smiled and stood up straight. At 30, he was one of the youngest heads of state, but being on the throne for 11 years made him comfortable in his capacity as head of Rathtinia. When the Queen stood in front of him he greeted his new ally, "Your Majesty, welcome to The Empire of Rathtinia. I am His Imperial Majesty, William V, and on behalf of myself, and my people, I officially welcome you to our country." |

"So young! He is THE image of my son! I should trust in his ability to lead tho." The Queen thought to herself as she greeted the Emperor. "Your Imperial Majesty, it is most grand to meet you, Rathtinia is so beautiful. This is actually my 1st time in this corner of the world, North Zephyria. The sky seems especially majestic. I regret to inform you that my husband the King is tied up back home. He sends his warmest regards tho, and gives you this on his, our behalf:" The Queen handed the Emperor a bottle of one of Justosia's most profitable, and chief exports, fine white wine: ![]() "Now, do you know the Xosaian Emperor's ETA?" |

The Emperor received the Queen's gift. Examining it, he smiled, looked up at the Queen and said, "I will treasure this gift just as I will treasure our friendship, during our state dinner this evening, may our two nations along with our Xosaian friends toast our new alliance with this lovely wine. As to your husband's absence, I miss his presence, but am understanding of how such pressing affairs of state can have on one's schedule. I am grieved by his absence, but I am much consoled in your presence. I know my beautiful Rathtinian countryside pales in comparison to Your Majesty's. In regards to our Xosaian friends, the Emperor will arrive later today; however his arrival time has not been pinned down. Thankfully, Xosaia is much closer to Rathtinia and his travel time will be much less than yours was." The Emperor then beckoned for his wife, the Empress to step forward. The Empress did so along with an aide carrying a pillow. Resting on the pillow was a ring. "Your Majesty, this is my wife, the Empress Katherine." The Empress smiled wide and took the pillow from the aide, "Your Majesty, may I, on behalf on my husband, the Emperor, and all of my fellow Rathtinians, welcome you to our country. As a token of our warm welcome and well wishes, may I present to you a ring, which was once my Emperor's grandmother's." ![]() "May it bind us together in friendship as it once bound my husbands grandparents." |

The Emperor was pleased that the Justonian Queen liked his gift. He turned to the Queen and said, "Please forgive me Your Majesty, though it pains me to depart from your company after only so brief a time together, I did promise the Xosian Emperor that I would personally greet him when he arrives, and as you will see, Rathinians keep their promises. My wife would be more than happy to escort you to the Esprit de Pais Hotel and see to it that you and your entourage get situated comfortably." The Empress took her cue and beckoned to the Queen, "Your Majesty, if you may allow me to lead you to the motorcade, it would be my pleasure." The Empress than led the Queen to one of the many limos that had been brought for the Queen's disposal. An Imperial Guard opened the door and waited for the Queen to enter. Meanwhile, after the Royal company was out of earshot, the Emperor turned to his Prime Minister and Foreign Minister. "Any word yet on the arrival of our Xosaian guests?" The foreign minister, Milena Skouros answered, "No Your Majesty, though we expect him to depart Xosaia soon." "I do hope he gets here soon. We DO have a treaty to sign," the Emperor responded. Turning to an aide he says, "Take this gift and send it to the palace. Make sure its available for tonight's party." The Emperor hands the bottle to the aide and as he departs he looks at the Prime Minister, "Are all other preparations made?" "Yes, Your Majesty, they are." "Good and now we wait." |

Emergency lights flashed about the cabin. The Ambassador General saw the Prime Minister looking around, with the faintest expression of nervousness on her face. He looked over to the Emperor, who was calmly fastening his seatbelt for the first time since take off in Mira. This was to be the end of a long, 3 part diplomatic trip for the party; They had first traveled to Mephet, Demadaha to invite their President to sign the Haukkojen Accord, which had been finalized with Githa a few months prior. They had then flown to Mira, Githa, to discuss obtaining what would be Xosaia's second large financial lone this year. In order to cut travel time to Rathinia, they had elected to fly over the upper Arctic, although they knew it would be slightly dangerous. The pilot had objected at first, but Prime Minister Nanuvek had insisted. Now, despite her calm outward appearance, he knew she was cursing her decision. The plane had strayed a little to close to the Myrskykentät, and a violent lightning storm had engulfed them. While the plane had been built to shrug off even direct hits from lightning strikes, the storms of Talvyss were stronger than anywhere else in the world, and now the plane's engineers were being put to the test. The Ambassador General was jarred out of his thoughts by a sudden burst of turbulence as the plane fired its afterburners-- and Alifros saw why. About half a mile a way (although it was hard to tell distance at this elevation) was a huge storm cloud that pulsated almost rhythmically with flashes of electric light. In stark contrast to this image, clear sky could be seen further away out the opposite window. After several more nerve-racking minutes in the storm, the plane emerged from the clouds into the clear skies of the Jaavouria Channel. ![]() A few hours later, the plane touched down in Solaria. The 18 guards and their charges emerged from the plane onto the rain-stricken runway, taking in the fresh air. As Alifros saw their hosts strolling from the gate to greet them, he heard the Prime Minister whisper angrily in his ear, "Fix this". With an ever so slightly mocking "Yes, ma'am", Alifros prepared quickly to explain the circumstances of their tardiness to their Rathinian hosts. |

The Emperor received the update from his Intelligence chief. The plane had just touched down after barely making it through the lightning storm. "The entire Xosaian delegation getting killed due to weather would've started our new treaty organization off rather poorly," thought the Emperor to himself. The Emperor felt sorry for the Imperial guardsmen, now in ponchos due to the rain. They had been waiting for what seemed like forever. He felt for his wife too, if she and the Justosian Queen did not get along, then things will have turned out very badly indeed. As soon as the Emperor looked out and saw the Xosian party disembark, he and his staff rushed out quickly to greet them. Walking briskly, with his foreign minister by his side and a couple of aides holding umbrellas over their heads, the Emperor made his way to the Xosaian Emperor. He was greeted by someone who appeared to be one of the Emperor's aides. Before the man could speak the Emperor cut him off, "I am glad your party made it safely to our country. I would count it as a grievous loss to lose your Emperor, especially to inclement weather. I apologize for the lack of proper greetings, but weather and timing have forced my hand. I am holding a reception party for the Justosian Queen and your Emperor at the Hotel Esprit de Pais. If your Emperor would like to head there directly, he's more then welcome. However, if he would like to get freshened up, I can instruct my drivers to take your party to the Grand Palace Hotel, which has been rented out completely for your Emperor's use. However, I think it would be to both our parties benefits if we move quickly to the cars." Meanwhile, after escorting her charges to the hotel Esprit de Pais, the Empress quickly excused herself and rode back to the Palace for a quick change. During her brief layover in the Palace, she was informed that her husband would not be accompanying her to the reception as the Xosaian delegation had just landed and that he would be delayed in getting to the reception. Luckily, unlike sometimes when she was forced to play babysitter for Emperor, the Empress liked the Queen of Justosia. Also, the Emperor's brother Andrew and sister Anne would be present at the party. Andrew, who was a rake, but also a natural comedian, was never boring and Anne was one of her closest friends, so the reception was sure to pleasant unless the Xosaians turned out to be lacking in manners as much as they lacked in punctuality. When the Empress arrived at the Party, she was greeted by the usual well-wishers and although she underwent the bright lights of the media for many years now, she was still not used to the almost blinding flashes of their cameras. Luckily she was quickly escorted inside and to the party. Once inside, she quickly found Princess Anne, "Anne, it's good to see you. The Emperor has been delayed at the airport and he'll be late." "That's my brother. When he was in the Academy, perfect punctuality, once he became Emperor, never on time." "Speaking of brothers, where is Andrew?" "Around, probably flirting with some minor lady." "I was a minor lady," the Empress scowled. "Yes, but you didn't fling your arms around the closest prince at the first opportunity," the Princess replied. "Speaking of Royalty, let me introduce you to the Justosian queen. I don't want her to feel abandoned." With that, the Empress and Princess Anne made their way over to the Justosian delegation. The Justosian Queen recognized the Empress and smiled at her, which the Empress returned. "Your Royal Highness, I apologize for my husband's absence, but I was just informed that the Xoasians have just landed and the Emperor is on his way here at best possible speed. However, I was hoping in his absence, that I may introduce my sister-in-law, the Princess Anne." The Princess curtsied and said, "Your Royal Highness, I am Anne Rathtin, Princess of Kanaskma. I want to welcome you to our country and I hope that our two peoples will be great friends for some time." |

"Your Highness, a pleasure. I am Maria Francesca Francisco The Second, Queen of Justosia. I hope the same for our peoples and......wait please pardon me a minute." The Queen then picked up her cell phone. "......Yes my son what.....no.....no don't......I know you think you're helping but they already have enough work....yes the women of Rathtinia are indeed stunning in beauty. I have to go Carlos. Mhmm, ok, love you, adios. I am most sorry, my son is a handful." The Queen said composing herself. |
