"Yes, from what I hear the Demoness representative's proposal was good and fair, but to bring peace we may need to modify it a little. I believe you're being a little pessimistic about both sides being able to follow through, however. I'm sure these reasonable people can come to mutual conclusion." |

Milena Skouros turned back to face Righ Bonami, "I'm sorry I wasn't really paying attention, but you mentioned something about wanting the Demonesu proposal to go forward if it can. You are really doing a smashing job of helping that occur. Now let me get something straight and forgive me if I misunderstand, your blindingly brilliant plan has left us... slower delegates confused. You are upset that these peace talks are being threatened by the egos of the Justosian and Laddneian representatives. You really want these talks to succeed so in order to help ensure that you antagonize one of the key players in these talks. I'm guessing you were thinking he will be so angry and annoyed that he'll sign anything as long as he can escape from your presence. That's absolutely brilliant. I mean instead of being friendly and treating others with respect and courtesy you decided to use some reverse psychology and alienate everyone here. I have to give you my utmost admiration. I have been a diplomat for a long time, but this move is beyond brilliant. What's next, are you going to burn down his palace in order for him to sign a trade deal? Or are you going to dump toxic waste in his lakes in order for him to share scientific research with you? Please enlighten me, no please enlighten all of us with your ingenious diplomatic strategy." Skouros then crossed her arms, smiles and indicated that she was waiting for Anum's reply. |

Ryosuke refrained from holding his head in his hands. Well, there is now one less ally to help this succeed... "Milady, I will agree that his tactics are not the best in order to facilitate peace, but I think his initial strategy was to make the interested parties understand that we - well, excluding me - are equals in that we are all national leaders with some exceptions. Acting to one's station is one thing, but disrespecting another's will get you nowhere. If I understand his tactics correctly, he was trying to bring the Justosian king down to our level and perhaps break through this air of arrogance that is normal and even permissible of the nobility. However, it is obvious this tactic will not work, so perhaps it is time to change that. Yes?" He turned to Righ Bonami for support. |

Aled suppressed a shudder. The personal strife was palpable. "Perhaps we should save shop talk for the meeting itself. Then we can focus on a fresh, professional start." |

Ryosuke nodded his acquiesce. "How about something more agreeable - like our children. Do you have any, Lady Skouros?" |

"Agreed" Anum inclines his head at the Artfulian before addressing Milena "Perhaps I overstepped, and I apologize if that offends you madam... unlike you I am not a career diplomat. I was, until very recently, a fighter pilot in the NEDF... deflating egos needs to be done. Perhaps I used a hammer when a stiletto was the correct tool... but I stand by my observation that the egos present needed to be checked at the door. First the Queen's, then the King's... when he walked in acting even worse than she had." He frowns slightly "I was as polite as possible to the Laddenian, though he strolled in as if his fecal matter carried no odor... I thought perhaps he would contribute to peace until he almost literally announced his intent to assist Justosia in not giving an inch and keeping the barbarians at the gate... which means no more negotiations and no progress at the conference." He shakes his head sadly "Of all the involved parties, you were the one solely deserving of any true respect... it is my failure that you seem to blame me for the failures of the conference." He moves off with a very casual salute "I shall consider your words as i watch the resolution of these events begin to unfold." |

Milena Skouros took a deep breath, "Righ Bonami, I treasure peace and I do hope our talks here our successful. The Demonesu proposal is still one Rathtinia fully supports and we thank our friend from Demoness for proposing it. I will be the first to admit that the actions of our ally Justosia was frustrating. Even friends can grow... tired of the antics of those closest to them. However, inflaming the matter was not the wisest course of action. For those who treasure peace, any slights or insults can be counter-productive and for my own part in that I do apologize. My government will press the Justosians to accept the Demonesu proposal without amendment. What happens after that is out of our hands." Turning to the ambassador from Demoness Milena replied, "Yes. I have two daughters. One is in the Rathtinian naval academy and the other is still in high school. Yourself?" |

Alcolai couldn't help but think about how the observers seem to be talking more than the actual offenders. International affairs. Bah. Never get involved with another countries problems. Simply watch and avoid their mistakes. He considered that the most effective foreign policy. |

Ryosuke nodded. "A son and a daughter. Twins actually. My son's on the medical track and my daughter flatters me by following in my footsteps." He smiled. "She's got quite a temper though, so we'll see if she stays in that track. They're sixteen, so there's still plenty of time to change their minds." |
