I think it would be a good idea if the strongest nations of the world could meet in specialised summits. It would take into account economy, military and historical and diplomatic ties. It would be better than the AA in terms of decision making, because a small group having a proper discussion would solve things quicker than a nation by nation statement of opinions. I propose two groups, the G8 and the G25. The G8 would be a meeting of the most powerful nations deciding and discussing propositions to put to the AA. The AA however does have a superior veto. The G25 would be the next group of nations (G8 plus 17 more), who could further discuss G8 propositions, and amend or add as they wish. On who gets in to each group, I think a voting system would lead to to much clutter and disappointment, I propose the following list of members: G8: Demoness ELE Greater Laddneia Leraq Neolantia Orchyre Taeunus Xosaia G25: Anu Asiya Artfulia Demoness ELE Emerald Isle Ethenna Fenwick Garip Arazi Githa Greater Laddneia Kaidos Leraq Neolantia New Emberline Nova Elysium Orchyre Ord Ibanna Psyonia Rathinia Retwinsore Slostia Taeunus Tristram Vantel Xosaia If anyone has a good argument why a nation should not be here, or why they themselves should be, a little discussion wouldn't hurt... |

As I understand it, AA membership is voluntary and as such, Fenwick is not a member but may have an observer there. |

I'd have thought this would have been separate from the AA, but still voluntary... |

Ah, that wasn't clear to me. I wouldn't want to slight my best ally, but it seems a little odd for him to participate in this when he won't participate in the AA. I suppose leaving him off this list though would be kinda bullying him to join us in the AA. :-p |

Just a question, I mean no disrespect by this, but why are Leraq and Taeunus in the G8? Leraq has only been noteworthy as of late, not influential in Alterran history, at all. Taeunus has the same thing, it hasn't influenced Alterra much. Now I know that the RL G groups are divided economically but since Alterra doesn't have any "major" US/Russia/EU types (Unless you count the Nerian Commonwealth) There is no clear economic superiority of anyone. We don't need these groupings, there's no point to it. |

If you think they're not necessary, you don't need to involve yourself. This was only a quick guess at members; I skimmed through the factbooks and chose who I thought most suitable. Leraq has the world's largest nuclear arsenal, a very large economy based on natural gas and is one of the largest advocates of free trade in Alterra; founding member of AFTA. Taeunus has, without a doubt, the most powerful military in the world, and has been around a long time OOCly... |

G8 is formed around Economic size which is why I don't like this. All Natural Resources are subjective as of now and from preliminaries I don't think Leraq has nearly the Natural Gas production claimed. Also Nuclear weaponry is unlikely to be any measurement on how to get in. I'll give you that Taeunus has been around for a while OOC but that is completely inconsequential IC. Again Military might is an unlikely convention for getting into the G8 |

The Alterran G8 would be different to the RL one; it would factor in military and economy, aswell as historical ties and diplomacy. |

Military would certainly never factor into an organization like this, Countries don't group themselves by who's the biggest and baddest, they group them on similar ideology or if they can economically contribute to each other. If they even included military into the consideration for it there would be participation problems as it could potentially alienate their allies. |

I understand your point about my resources, but I will not take that as evidence against my economy being weak. In my opinion this map is an outrage, I have spent a long time developing my economy on the back of resources, only to find I dont have any. I will change my primary industry, but refuse to aknowldge my economy is weak on the grounds of this map
