Sorry, but there's no 'slowly switching' when it was unlikely to exist in major exportable quantities. I'd suggest maybe a slight down sizing, barely noticeable, but perhaps balance your economy on 25% Natural Gas and 75% precious stones or such.

Agreed but in the same way I don't think I should be told what resources I have well after I established my economy. This switch is necessary because of this new resource map that has been drawn up, in my opinion, way way too late |

I agree, but the best time is the soonest time and we hadn't done it before so we have to do it. Resources is the one place you can't skimp on realism. If we did skimp, everyone would have oil and metal and everything they would need. We've got to make it real here or else we let the Godmodders and the likes of them take over. |

Understood, I will be changing the basis of my economy: but I will not accept my lacking of resources as an excuse to damn my economy |

I think we should wait until we have a firmer grasp on national economies and the metric we can use to compare them before establishing G groups |

Your economy doesn't depend on what resources you have in your nation. In RL, Africa and the Middle East have so many resource pockets than the developed world, yet by importing and trade, European nations still managed to come out on top. Leraq wouldn't be over affected by whatever it's resources turn out to be; it could stay rich through its manufacturing of imported raw materials... |

We already have a pretty firm grasp of all nations economics, any nation that turns out to not have the resources it thought will not just decide they will become weaker economically, they will simply change their industries. Not much will change with this resource map at all. Edited by Leraq, May 25 2011, 10:43 AM.

I feel as though we should wait until the resource map is up. Then have a G-group chosen by the people. |
