I submit Tristram's I18 Application: The Federal Republic of Tristram is the youngest country in Alterra today. However, the country's economy is strengthening with every day. Our manufacturing and high tech industries are the heart of the Tristram economic powerhouse. We also boast one of the most advanced navies in the world. Despite our small size, our present politics seeks peace for all Alterrans and international cooperation amongst the individual governments of the world powers. We are not a great military power, but it is not a military that makes a nation, rather it is a combination of hard work and strength. Tristram is a nation of immigrants, built upon the treatises of liberty, freedom and determination. We strive for continued greatness under our duly-elected President of the Federal Republic, Deckard Cain. Allowing Tristram entry into the I18 would open our markets to world powers, allowing for continued investment into the world economy, and the opening of a land of opportunity and financial success. Our economy is growing at a constant rate with no threat of a meltdown anytime soon. Tristram's government is among one of the most stable in the world. Although contension for power is split amongst three political parties, the Republicans, the Federalists, and the Democrats, an orderly way of transferring powers from one party to another is established in our Constitution. Alterra has nothing to fear from Tristram, nor have we a reason to fear you. |

No. And if I were Laddneia, I would not be convinced by your application, Tristram, to be honest |

Maybe require a unanimous vote for any I9/18 decisions, so there's no reason for any member not to sign? Not sure how to fix the AA problem, though. |

Just a bit off topic: but... will we have a private group set up soon for summits? |

Well, either we could ignore the AA altogether in that respect, or we could say that everyone has to follow the important resolutions (defined by a majority vote of the I9), but can opt out of the less important ones... |

Under the 'popular support' clause, Koussath qualifies for that. The people of Koussath really do support the Empire. When your father, grandfather, great grandfather, etc, etc, etc, all live under the same regime for 3,000 years...it grows on you, hm? Plus their religion is all about a strong, central government that punishes infractions with brutality and their God is the ancestor of the Emperor. Is it surprising there'd be support for the regime? Only in Jakan are there problems, but thats a whole 'nother religious/history question. This is actually a fact the Kisyrans don't really get. As they will find out. |
