... I think I'll just pretend to know what you two mean. >_> I always find it silly how there can be several ways to read a word... |

<-Grammar Nazi, particularly in actual posts (the shoutbox doesn't count), but I'm ironically prone to malapropisms that I don't even notice until weeks later. |

Me? I read Ayzex as Ay-zek (Ay as in "A, B, C", mostly because my brain's locked on English. I think a Russian-set mind would read it as Issac. >.> I read the short version as both "A-z" and "Ays" |

My most glaring error is that I tend to get a little wild with the commas, flinging them about all willy-nilly. I would always lose points due to my grammar. |

Meh... Commas are a little hard anyways. I tend to add too many as well if I don't write a rough draft first (they come out in editing). However, it seems like comma use is changing anyway. When I was going to school, you had to put a comma before "and" in a list, but before I graduated that had begun to fade out. It also doesn't help that modern novels (and even the good ones) tend to be grammatically incorrect, not only flinging commas about but also pretending that run-one sentences aren't or that simply putting a comma and then a phrase is really part of a sentence. |

"And thirdly, the code is more what you'd call 'guidelines' than actual rules." And no... Just no. They are rules. You won't understand me if I place a noun in a sentence in the incorrect placement and lack of antecedents tends to confuse people. However, language is an organic being which means the rules evolve. |

Note to self: do not debate Demoness where grammar is concerned. *nod* |
