Is there an alterran world cup? If not there should be, because the people of Florinthus are itching to prove their mettle to all nations on the world stage. Plus it would be fun. You could rp with things like rosters, news clippings, etc. I'm not sure how games would be played, (with scorinator or something simpler?) what does everyone think? |

Did something like this a while back on an alt-history site. The scores were determined by a series of eight random number generations and comparisons. In order to score a team needed a number at least two greater than the other teams. This was further complicated by the selection of "Favorites" and "Wild-Cards." Regular teams generated a number 1-4, favorites 2-5, and wild cards 1-5. |

We did something like that in my stat class too. We had to go through all the steps by hand though, with dice. It was incredibly complex and incredibly random. Although sports aren't necessarily random are they? If things were truly random then the Bolton Wanderers should have a 50% chance of beating Barcelona, but it's pretty clear that that could never ever happen. |

There are a number of sports calculators that are used on the official NS forums I think. I don't know anything about them though. Anyone familiar with these?

Funny. I watched basketball last night with a friend and all I could think about was this comic. Honestly, this isn't up my alley, but I don't see why it shouldn't happen. |
