It's cool. Whenever you get around to it is fine. Its not an urgency by any means. The idea is still in it's infancy. Once I do figure out a score generator it should be leaps and bounds since all I will have to do is get sign ups and a thread or two |

Thank you High Forty! That was very in depth, and complex. In a good way though. I also liked how you explained the spreadsheet in your email. I will definately consider the algorithms in it New Bocan, yes another program could be used of course, but I wanted to see if I could make one myself to kinda personalize it for our world. If I can't because I am too busy that is what I will do until I can. Thanks |

Alright Ladies and Gentlemen, here are some points that i have debated and finalized into my plan thus far. I think that when the rules are all finalized I will put them into some sort of charter. If you have any ideas or comments feel free to post. 1. The Alterran World Cup will be held Biannually, in the spring and autumn, or the summer and winter. Exact months are also up for debate. (I plan on opening a thread for deciding these kinds of things when i have all the options finalized) 2. The Alterran World Cup will take place in one nation. This nation will choose which city or cities the matches will take place. The stadiums can be pre-existing or be built just for the occasion. This nation will provide accomodations for the players such as lodging, practice pitches, and possibly transportation if needed. This nation will also be responsible for keeping track and posting the match results, as well as updating the brackets/group stages. It is not determined whether or not they will also handle scorinating the matches. 3. Scorinating could be handled by either: A) the host nation completely, or B) an anonymous group of people willing to share the job. This will be done (hopefully) to provide a fair, equal, way of scorinating that would be (mildly) unquestionable. I think that the final itself should be done by the host nation. 4. Regarding the scorinator itself: I have looked at the scorinator example provided by High Forty. It was quite usefull, but was made for American Football, so it itself cannot be used for the matches. Heres another debate point, Should it be where you provide a basic, lump rating for each player, or a more complex rating system as seen in the game "Football Manager" where each player is rated in several different skills based on their position. In both examples, the person would allocate a given number of skill points for either the whole squad, or each player. The latter method would provide a more personalized squad, and more rp opportunities, but would probably be more difficult to scorinate than the first method. 5. How the tournament would be organized depends on the number of nations interested. If only <32 nations sign up, than a bracket would be all that was needed. But if 80 or more nations are interested, than some group stages would be neccesary. So, what do you guys think? Throw in some input, positive or negative. Give suggestions or even ideas of your own. Since its Summer Break i have some extra time lying around so i can try to put this together. Thanks again for showing interest!

You'll only have about 10 nations. |

That's fine, I don't know how long this'll last, but it's important to provide a guideline for the future. Who knows what can happen, and I counted 12.
