@rarier- God, I miss D&D! ;_; @Mist- Alignment can be fun to manipulate. It's great for actual RP groups. How does the Angelerre system work? |

Heh, its 2nd Ed Demoness... no doubt as to his 'Good' axis... he just has a pathological fear of 'Lawful'... but its exactly what he's playing so he's gonna end up there eventually. I borrow the alignment tracking concept from the old Dragonlance series... there's transition periods and you can get into real crap 'cause the DM isn't obligated to clue you into your exact 'location' on the charts... yes it has an effect on the dice so when you start feeling guilty about stuff (or reveling in other stuff) and you miss when you know you shoulda hit or passed that save.... there's yer clue! |

I never got around to playing 2e. I borrowed some books, mainly the MM, and read a little but 3e was out by the time I was actually able to get a group together. That is definitely the system with which I'm most familiar and likely to break. >.> There's nothing wrong with being Lawful... Unless you're in a party full of evil people. |

Legends of Anglerre uses FATE, so it is very RP based. It is a lot more fluid and story based than d&d, with more player input, at least from my experience. |

Lux, Lawful Evil can be interesting if you play it right. |

The aforementioned fate is the wonderful system that we used, though the specific setting was Dresden Files, not Legends of Anglerre. I'm not entirely sure if I if I can explain the entire system in one post, but suffice to say that any game where my character's less than warm relations with their parents coupled with their habit of calling another character "dad" allows me to avoid falling for the allure of a seductive vampire is doing it right. It also helped that our GM was probably the most awesome person ever to walk the planet. I was somewhat unimpressed with DnD after playing in the Fate system, but have since come back around to like both. I play mostly 3.5, and have heard that 4e is less roleplay-ey and more strategy-ey, but I don't actually know. |

With the various groups I've played 3.5 with, I've discovered that it's more about who you play with than the system if you want to roleplay. |

We completely bypassed a section of a campaign due to our epic diplomacy skills. Oh yeah! |
