If I could migrate my nation to an actual continent I so would, being so small in the middle of the ocean isn't really that fun. I chose my spot originally because I had never before done nation RP or anything like NS and Alterra, but unfortunately I caught on quicker than I expected and now I'm isolated. *sad face* Ah well, guess I'll just have have random terrorist groups start taking trips. |

Ok, I am not saying the Albanians had it easy but the thing is they survived whatever was thrown at them. Generally, small nations and there people tended to be eithier wiped out or absorbed into other nations. Concerning WW I,
Knowing Albanias long history of being invaded, this could explain why Hoxha went about building supposedly over one million concrete gun emplacements all over Albania. During WW II, Albania was the only nation in Europe that liberated themselves. Of course the Germans were by that time not really concentrating on Albania. Albanians also helped the Yugoslavians push out the Germans from Kosovo and other Western parts of Yugoslavia. The Albanians however thought the Yugoslavians would cede Kosovo to them after a referendum was held there. It never happened. Hoxha was hard on Albanians but he did manage to keep Albania out of Yugoslavian and Soviet orbit after things soured between Albania and those two nations. In the future they should do fine if they do not let other nations tell them how to run there nation. Energy wise Albania is an oil producer. And they have found more oil. From 2008
But they also have plenty of Hydroelectric potential thus no need to rely on oil. And they have minerals. They just need investment money in order to create industries and businesses thus jobs for there people. Found a short video of Albania in 1943. It was filmed by the Germans in color. Video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J39xAIAQZk4 Getting back to your problem. You could form a small nation block like someone already suggested. That idea really sounds good. Or if you prefer you could become part of the Empire of Western Suijen. Of course you would be autonomous. Edited by Dragon fire, Jun 25 2011, 07:00 PM.

Florinthus would be more than willing to begin talking with any nation that needs an ally. Believe me, we privatized our military a long time ago. I'm sure the Corporations would be more than willing to sign a contract with a foreign nation and assist them in time of need. The Florinthian People are always ready to Make a profit. |

Kind of, it's better to describe it as aggressively privatized. I still haven't quite figured out how it will be organized, but yes, there are companies that specialize in war, and they are called on to protect the nation in times of international strife. The people themselves have an organized militia, th Freedom Defense Corps, that basically protect their rights in the way a traditional government would. It's very decentralized. |

Sounds somewhat anarchist. By the way where are you located on the map. |

Oh it is definitely anarchist. Technically my nation is a federal republic, but all the politicians really do is declare war and alliances etc. Very free and very pro market. I envisioned Florinthus being an economic superpower, with an advanced military and major freedoms. The one main weakness is the lack of organization and unity. Regarding the map, I requested the plot H2 and I'm waiting for it to be accepted. |

Being anarchist your selection of a nation H4 is kind of worrying. You have a border with five nations who might have strong centralized governments thus might think that your nation being anarchist would be an easy target. X62 would have probably been better. Its an island. Is is a little isolated but you can develop your anarchist government without much of a worry since you have no shared borders with anyone. |
