I was wondering about the history of the islands in the Pacatum Sea. Is there anything specific dealing with them or a certain island, or have they been relatively untouched so far? Regarding my ideas, I was considering rping an island nation similar to North Korea with an oppressed people and little outside contact. |

For a while the Pacatum Islands, excluding z56 and z57, were controlled by Artfulia up to around the 1300s. There was a lot of naval fighting in the Pacatum sea during the great war. Other than that I think it's pretty untouched. |

Ok, sounds like I have a decent amount of freedom creatively. Thanks for the information. |

I colonized Z56, Z57, and Z54 in the late 1600s I'd like to think that some of them maintained good relations after their freedom was established. Those ones that maintained that probably joined the Nerian Commonwealth in the early 1800s |

Clavia, if you want to put your own spin on the islands without my country being historically involved, go for it. Otherwise, Artfulia controlled most of the land in and around the Pacatum from around 2000 BCE to 1300 CE. |

I'm fine with the Artfulian occupation. Otherwise, my island wouldn't have much early history.

New Emberline was a big player in the Southern Pacatum in ancient times... joined Artfulia then went its own way again when that empire fell. The only major thing I 'claimed' was naming our native Sea Goddess 'Pacata'... thus putting 'my' stamp on the region. NE was one of the early explorer cultures with bronze weapons, horses & chariots and fully oceanic galleys during the mythic age... feel free to interact however feels right. Unless it completely buggers my own history of the period (found in my factbook) then I'm almost certain to be happy for the additional info and inclusion. |

Ok. So far my history only includes Artfulia, but it's just a rough draft right now. I'm going to finish it and add more details once I get my creative juices flowing. |

EDIT: I went & checked your factbook... you're right on top of me so there's little doubt we'd have interacted. That said, my 'empire' era was aimed South at the continent rather than at other islands... safe to say we would have been trading partners & you'd have been well familiar with the ships of the Emberlene city-states. Galleys, painted sails & eyes so the spirits of the ships wouldn't be blind... the oceanic ships of the era would have involved outriggers or catamaran or even trimaran galley hulls... very distinctive. Alright. As I said before, (And you can probably tell) what I have in my factbook is pretty slim on details. Once I get my entire history down, I'll go back and add in New Emberline and other stuff. Thanks for the information. |
