Yeah, I asked Demoness to make an announcement, but I don't think she has been on since I pm'd her this morning. |

Thanks, Raz. I take your point about timber, although with the possible exception of tropical hardwoods, it probably wouldn't be cost-effective to import wood halfway across the world when there are perfectly good trees growing a few miles away. But the real reason I raised the subject of timber is to confirm that there are boreal forests in the spot: given that I'm planning to name a region 'the western forest', I don't want the cartography committee to suddenly reveal that the whole area is a treeless tundra! The same philosophy applies to metal. Apart from the fact the one of my cities is called 'iron fortress', if, for instance, there was alluvial gold in Bob's valley...well then suddenly my country would have a strong reason for wanting to retain that area, even if it is cut off from the rest of its territory. Plus, I would probably change the heraldry of Stromsdal to a show a golden stream instead of a silver one...

That is good role-play. Your making the nation seem real, and it really reminds me of some of those reformation era German states. Just look at Austria, through marriage they gained lands all over Europe that they would have no control over otherwise. I like what you are doing there |

It's simply a question of trying to see the spot as it is, rather than what I want or expect it to be. That was always my intention; I just haven't been doing it particularly well! |

Yes, and for future reference, when I have time (not on lunch, for example), I answer my PMs first, go to the private forums, and then go through the public ones, so if you need something addressed immediately a PM is preferred as I also go top to bottom. |
