On what I believe is the final day of resolutions between members of the econ cmte I will make public the results and actions I have taken as interim chair: Ladies and Gentlemen, This is the resolution of the future of the economics cmte. This is based entirely on discussion with the current members, even ones now ejected, the sentiment of the people, as shown in the thread 'democracy' and PMs with Demoness and others. 1. Demoness informed me that the economics cmte was too large, 11 members. We also talked about a cap of around 3 members. I as interim chair have decided this is the desired number for the group. It makes a reduction in the sprawling mass of OOC affairs, as requested by our community, and sees an increase in efficiency. I have chosen Xos, due to his sterling efforts in the patents assignment, and high level of activity (the greatest in the cmte after myself) I have also chosen GL, I have worked a lot with him in the game, and RL, and know he is the most dependable poster other than Dee and is also incredibly fair. Raz will also remain on the cmte as he has shown keeness, and good ideas. All the other ejected members have a post count of less than 10 on active assignments; and the cmte has been around long enough, so it is only fair they should go. We need dependable and dedicated members.2. The cmte will take a streamlined OOC approach. We will no longer meddle in IC affairs, unless asked. This was something agreed by the cmte in our discussion, and was asked to change on public opinion. We assume a new agenda with priorities being an economics FAQ, and will PM new members offering them assistance. 3. We have been discussing the chair, me. We held a vote as to whether confidence remained in me as leader. It stands on the day of the close 3 to 2 against. As this is nowhere near a majority of the cmte either way and is such a little margin I will not step down for the moment. However I respect the sentiment that I may be replaced by someone better. Thus I will chair for the next 3 weeks in order to see this new cmte model established, then I swear to hold fresh discussion on the matter. Should there still be a mood I should be replaced I will step down. As it is, the chair will also take a less important role. With a smaller cmte it will no longer be necessary for much delegation etc. To improve the focus I can offer to this group, I will be retracting membership to: the info and welcome cmtes. |

I'm sorry. Cmte life continues. I'm not sure we need more members. I instead offer you this compromise (if I am chair when this circumstance arises) you will be prioritised when we do need an extra hand. Edited by Leraq, Jul 28 2011, 06:11 PM.

What is this?!?!?! This is bullshit that's what, you were just about to be voted off your position as Econ chair and you up and decide to boot all your opposition out of the committee to ensure your job security?!?!?! This is so Machiavellian it makes me sick. You are a two-faced weasel who scrabbles at every ounce of authority given and rules it like Stalin. You yourself said it was our right as a committee to democratically vote you off, you of course turned in to a hypocrite and boot off all opposition. You claim to have chosen me to maintain service in the Econ Committee yet I have no access! Last time I checked the vote was 4v1, a clear majority and as far as i know, you may not rescind your vote. This is propaganda bullshit made to confuse Dee into believing a different circumstance than actual occurrence. This is akin to what happened in the USSR in '91 a attempted coup to establish the old tyranny, I just pray that this turns out as well as it did then. You claimed to have wanted to step out of OOC politics but by this declaration you took a swan dive into OOC politics. You are a bullshit hypocrite Leraq. I call for Dee to summarily strip you of every single ounce of power you have, this is unacceptable by all phrase and term!!! Edited by Raz, Jul 28 2011, 07:20 PM.

If the majority of votes cast are in one way or another, that is the result. Just because some people don't vote doesn't mean you can disregard the votes that have been called. And I agree with Raz's sentiment completely. |

Hmm, yes but when the margin is so slim and a majority vote neither way then I don't see the need to instantly step down. I have said that now there has been concern for my position I will indeed call a new vote for chair in two weeks. This gives time for the cmte to settle down, and as a new cmte we have agreed that it would be better to see if as a smaller group we can try constructively to get my chairship to work rather than destuctively replace me. After 2 weeks I will swear to call polls on chairship. I thought this was reasonable, nay? Also Raz sorry I must have removed you. Also your last post actually means I may not change that. Ill ask my fellow members and we will see if we do want you with us. As for removing my opposition. You and Xos who make up the majoirty of the new cmte members are in fact the most against me of all! I have chosen new members based on contribution, not personal gain. More importantly although some of the members I have kicked were opposed to me I still register their votes of no confidence, so that invalidates your whole statement of ignoring my oposition. In fact I have chosen to kick them now because that gave everyone the chance to vote inside of the set deadline! This is in no way a conspiracy. Edited by Leraq, Jul 28 2011, 10:23 PM.

Majority is >50%, period, whether you like the sway of the vote or not. Retaining GL was simply a way for you to maintain that there would be no opposing majority, add on that you 2 are RL friends and it becomes more suspicious. Actually I was thinking that you meant to knock off Rahu but instead clicked me, regardless, I'd really rather not serve in what I see as a corrupt dictatorship. Rahu was the original caller for the Vote of No Confidence, he is probably the most valuable contributor that the Econ Comte has, you still elected to boot him, you couldn't surround yourself with the three most active contributors aside from yourself because they all oppose you. You retained GL simply because he is your friend and always seems to support you, he in no way has actively, majorly, contributed in any of the committees he and I have both been part of, he has been perhaps most active in the War comte and even then to a minor part. |

I like Rahu. However they had only 2 posts on our assignments. For whatever reason I don't care, but he certainly was not our most active member. When I choose the new members it was in fact the three most active posters: delux (who resigned) me and xos then you. That's why I tried to put you all on it! The others had shockingly low post rates so I choose GL to replace Lux. He does post a lot, he is dependable, and I know he gets on with Xos and me, so it would make a slick operation. |

Yeah... I'll let you guys cool down before I open this back up again. IF I open this back up again, and seeing as how I mandated a resolution had to be made AND I wanted to hear from everyone, I think this sums up what I have been hearing about the committee from everyone. Suspected politics aside, this committee is hereby dissolved. I may rescind this decision later or I may not. |
