Not to dirty this forum with any sort of actual religious discussion, but I am curious as to how we're handling RL holidays. Most of them are of Christian or ancient pagan origin, which is evident in the names, but we still have made mention of them. The worst offender is, of course, Christmas. I believe Halloween could be reasonably explained away in the context of Alterra, but as the year continues there are other holidays. What's the official take on them? |

Sorry my bad. I'm still thinking of a particular name for Christmas, since Stefannicans, as members of the Nabetseican church, would've traditionally celebrated December 25th for reasons of spending time with family and enjoying the comforts of their home etc. |

Well in Emeralia we celebrate it on the 25th and it is called Drendasia or rebirth. |

I am in need of assistance. Can anyone thing of a cool name for my 25th holiday? Any name that would encapsulate the though of a family gathering or family day type of holiday. |

I am thinking of a name for my end of year holidays. Still don't have the cultural thing down due to the fact that Iyori is still a very secular society. Like Summer solstice , but a more specific name. It's more like a week off, to spend with family, give eachother presents, and eat some food. |

It just occurred to me, that's all. :-p Though I concur with Iyori's suggestion of Solstice since that's also what my country celebrates. How about this: Is there another figure in your country's religion that's fairly important (besides your god, obviously)? |

I'll go with Yuletide. I've checked its historical background and fits perfectly for the Stefannican setting |
