The Orders of Rahab The Society of Rahab is controlled through seven Orders which combine religion, government and culture. All seven orders together are known as the Orders of Rahab, or simply the Orders. The Orders are: The Order of Deborah (Spirituality, Justice) The Order of Aaron (Civil Administration) The Order of Jael (Military, Police Force) The Order of Wisdom (Education, Learning, Science) The Order of Zipporah (Health, Environment) The Order of Miriam (Culture, Social Welfare) The Order of Ruth (Industry, Agriculture) Each citizen is a part of an order depending on their chosen path in life. Neither membership or leadership is hereditary and only the upper ranks of the Orders of Deborah and Aaron have gender restrictions. Any citizen whose path falls under the purview of more than one Order may choose the Order that best suits them. Only the highest positions require a continued commitment to that Order. The leaders of the Orders meet each day with the High Priestess. This is known as the Council of Seven. The Order of Deborah The Order of Deborah is responsible for both the spirituality of the people and judicial matters. Lower ranking members function as priests and priestess in the temples and fulfil the people's spiritual needs. Higher ranking members, called Deborahs, act as judges. While both men and women may join the order only women may become Deborahs The leader of the Order, given the title of Mother Deborah, is chosen every 12 years through lots drawn by the 12 most respected Deborahs at the time. The High Priestess is also chosen from this order. After the death of the previous High Priestess a new one is chosen by drawing of lots from the 7 most respected Deborahs at the time, excluding the current Mother Deborah. The Order of Aaron The Order of Aaron is charged with civil administration. Lower ranking members function as lower ranking civil officials and bureaucrats. Higher ranking members, called Aarons, act as mayors or ambassadors. The Order of Jael The Order of Jael is responsible for the military (the Holy Rahabite Defence Force or HRDF) and the police force (the Holy Rahabite Police Force or HRPF). Lower ranking members include junior officers and enlisted members in the HRDF and any officer below the rank of Superintendent in the HRPF. Higher ranking members, called Jaels, are senior and flag officers in the HRDF, and officers above the rank of superintendent in the HRPF. The leader of the Order, given the title of Father or Mother Jael, is chosen every 7 through lots drawn by the 7 most respected Jaels at the time. The Order of Wisdom The Order of Wisdom is charged with education and science. Lower ranking members function teachers, scientists, researchers and students. Higher ranking members, called the Wise, are Chosen by Mother or Father Wisdom from the lower ranks for being influential, respected or for making a significant breakthrough in their field of study. The leader of the Order, given the title of Father or Mother Wisdom, is chosen once a year through lots drawn by 3 of the most groundbreaking Wise ones. The Order of Zipporah The Order of Zipporah is charged with health and the protection of the environment. Lower ranking members function as nurses, midwives doctors, other healthcare providers, and environmental advocates. Higher ranking members, called Zipporahs, include hospital directors, renown doctors, and important environmental advocates. The leader of the Order, given the title of Mother or Father Zipporah, is chosen every 7 years through lots drawn by the 14 most respected Zipporahs at the time. The Order of Miriam The Order of Miriam is responsible for culture and social welfare. Lower ranking members function as artists, poets, authors, social workers, social welfare advocates, etc. Higher ranking members, called Miriams, include the most renown culture makers and social welfare advocates. National Government Head of State: El Head of Government: High Priestess: Farra the Great Grand Seer: Tamar the Blind Council of Seven Father Aaron: Yusef Baz Mother Deborah:Dinah Fazil Mother Jael: Sarah Ibrahim Father Wisdom: Saul Bilel Mother Zipporah: Miriam Uthman Father Ruth: Lot BenSira Father Mariam: Amec IrSalar The High Priestess has absolute control over the Empire. She meets daily (with the exception of the Sabbath) with the Council of Seven to discuss matters of state. Collectively the High Priestess, the Grand Seer and the Council of Seven are referred to as The Holy Council. The position of Grand Seer is only filled when the current High Priestess is not a seer herself. Each member of the Council of Seven is the head of one of the Orders of Rahab (See: The Orders of Rahab) All members of government are chosen by the drawing of lots. This process, though seen by some other nations as merely the 'luck of the draw', is, for the Rahabites, El making his selection of his government officials. This process is overseen by the High Priestess and the most senior member of the Council of Seven. The selection of a new High Priestess is overseen by Mother Deborah and the most senior member of the Council. The High Priestess serves for life. The Grand Seer serves for the lifetime of the High Priestess. Father Aaron serves for life. Mother Deborah serves for 12 years. Jael serves for 10 years. Zipporah serves for 7 years Ruth serves for 7 years Miriam serves for 3 years Wisdom serves for 1 year Edited by Rahab, Dec 14 2012, 05:33 AM.

Early History: 500 BCE - 300 CE Information regarding this era is found only within the Holy Scriptures. All dates are approximate. 500 BCE The City State of Yerko is attacked by the Abrus, a nomadic people from the Great Desert. The city is decimated but Mother Rahab is saved through her faith in El. The Abrus rebuild the city and call it Yeruslem. Rahab and her family live as outsiders in the new Abru City State. 400 BCE The Rahabites receive a measure of inclusion when a descendant of Rahab becomes the King of the Abrus. 250 BCE After outside threats the Abrus xenophobia intensifies leading to persecutions of the Rahabites and their religion. 200 BCE Under the leadership of High Priestess Sana the Courageous the Rahabites leave Yerusalem and head east. 125 BCE The Rahabite pilgrims arrive at the Hrystran Sea. High Priestess Zanib the Seer founds the cities of Tamar about 200 miles from the coast and the city of David on the coast. The cities are situated near Maic settlements. The Rahabites and the Maic people live in peace for some time, sharing resources and technology. 10 CE Sailors on the Hystrene Sea bring back tales of a wealthy people known as the Slostene. High Priestess Tema attempts to establish trade relations with the Slostenes. 106 CE High Priestess Renah the Rash declares that Maic religion is heresy, sparking over 100 years of war, known as the Years of Sadness. 205 CE At the height of the Years of Sadness, lead by High Priestess Delilah the Bloody and her husband, the Father Aaron, Samson, successfully push the Maic peoples to the North. 210 CE The Maic people ally themselves with the more ruthless nomaidic Hite tribe and they begin raiding the villages along the northern boarder. 220 CE The Maic/Hite alliance reach Tamar. At the same time a great drought hits the area. 223 CE Both sides are decimated by drought. Sickness and hunger spread through Tamar and David. High Priestess Delilah the Bloody and Father Aaron Samson are killed by sickness. The new High Priestess Hannah the Good declares that the drought is El punishing the Rahabite's sin of killing the innocent Maics. The only way to repent was to make peace with the Maics and the Hites and work together to rebuild the countryside. 225 - 275 CE The Maics and the Rahabites work together and rebuild the country. The Hites settle in the north again preferring to remain nomadic. The city of David grows in importance as it is able to supply most of Rahab with fish. 300 CE High Priestess Hannah the Good passes away at 100 years of age. Her successor High Priestess Adah the Wise institutes a written language and begins the building of the Council Chambers in Tamar. Edited by Rahab, Oct 31 2012, 12:22 AM.

The Holy Library The Holy Library is part of the Council Complex in Tamar. Built in 543 CE the Library houses the most important books in Rahab. Some of the highest members of the The Scriptures These scrolls, the earliest dating back to the early 4th Century, contain the Holy Scriptures of the True Way of Rahab. The most important of these include: The Scroll of Rahab, said to be the earliest scroll in the library The Scroll of Tamar The Scroll of David The Scroll of Wisdom The Scroll of Sadness The Chronicles Dating from the 309 CE the Chronicles are the official histories of Rahab. Chronicles are still kept by the Librarians but these are kept electronically. Only the most important events are made into handwritten scrolls. Knowledge Scrolls The majority of these scrolls date the from the 11th to 16th centuries though some are much earlier. They contain the important early scientific knowledge of the Rahabites, the Maics, the Fonans and the Hites. Legendary Scrolls Dating from the same time as the Knowledge Scrolls, these contain the folklore, mythology and legends of the the Rahabites, the Maics, the Fonans and the Hites. While officially considered apocryphal some groups, especially descendants of the Hites consider then scripture. General Collections While termed the "General Collection" this collection contains rare, influential, and first edition books from Rahab and the rest of the world. Holidays Spring Equinox - Traditional New Year May 27-30 - High Feast Days The Holiest Days in the Rabahite year. A time of reflection and prayer. Summer Solstice - The Day of Arrival A commemoration of the day that the Rahabites arrived in the country. July 25 - Indigenous People's Day A celebration of the contributions of the Maic, Hite and Fonan peoples to Rahabite history and culture. Fall Equinox - Day of Thanksgiving to El A day of prayer and sacrifice to El at the nearest Temple. Unbelievers who are a part of an Order must sacrifice two doves to El to ensure their continued membership to their Order. Rahabites often visit family on this day and it is often the busiest time on Rahabite roads and airports. Many ex pats and diplomats return to the country to celebrate. There is generally a large family meal as the sun sets. The High Council offers food to the homeless in Tamar throughout the day and into the night. November 5 - The Feast of the Dead Annual festival of remembrance of all those who have died. It was originally in remembrance of those who had died on the Great Journey but it has since been expanded. This is not a time for mourning but is a time to celebrate the lives of those who are gone. Winter Solstice - The Day of Sadness A time of solemn remembrance of the Years of Sadness when the Rahabites waged war against the Maics and Hites. February 2 - The Day of Initiation A day when new members are added to the Orders of Rahab. It is also when deserving members are promoted within the orders. |
