Military The Order of Jael functions as both the Rahabite military, the HRDF, and police force, the HRPF. The Military, called the Holy Rahabite Defence Force (HRDF) is divided into 4 main branches: The Land Forces, The Sea Forces, The Air Forces, and The Holy Guard. Members of the Holy Guard are those who have shown exemplary service in one of the three other branches. The Holy Guard serves as body guard for the Holy Council as well as security at official functions. Each branch has a military intelligence unit who report directly to Jael Major-General Yeshim IrTalan, Head of Military Intelligence. Police Force The Order of Jael functions as both the Rahabite police force, the HRPF and military, the HRDF. The HRPF was established in 1901 when Her Holiness High Priestess Anam Sudeer declared that there needed to be a law enforcement agency separate from the Armed Forces. The HRPF came under fire in 2009 when Aaron Enoch ArSarim levelled charges of racial discrimination against them. He claimed that they profiled and harassed low-income Fonans and Hites. Mother Jael Sarah Ibrahim, under orders from the late High Priestess Elaf Tamran, began an internal review of training procedures. Her Holiness also set up a commission of Deborahs to review the HRPF and to set up a series of hearings to evaluate the extent of the descrimination. Ethnic Groups There are four main ethnic groups in Rahab. These are the Rahabites, the Maics, the Fonans, and the Hites. The Rahabites This is the dominant ethnic group in Rahab, about 75% of the population. According to the Scriptures the Rahabites came from a city in the east and settled here in approximately 125 BCE. While genetic testing has established that the Rahabites are distinct from the other ethnic groups of Rahab, archeological expeditions have yet to find the location of the city known as Yerko or Yeruslem, or any trace of a group known as the Abrus. The Maics The Maics comprise about 13% of the population. True Way Scriptures, Maic myth, and archeological evidence place the original homeland of the Maic as the southern half of Rahab. The Maic people originally lived in clan groups in small villages scattered throughout the area. They relied on agriculture augmented by hunting in order to feed their animals. The National Museum in Tamar has many examples of ancient Maic artifacts. The Fonan The Fonan are the smallest ethic group in Rahab, making up about 3% of population. Originally a seafaring people on the northern coast Fonan innovations were used by the Rahabites during the Age of Discovery in order to make more effective ships. Unfortunately due to heavy regulation of the fishing industry in the mid 20th century many Fonans became unemployed, leading to a high incidence of poverty among those of Fonan decent. The Hite The Hite make up about 9% of the population. The Hite were originally a fierce nomadic people who covered much of the land to the east of Rahab, moving with their goat herds to find pastures. Many Hite still live in the east part of the country and work either as goat farmers or as part of the Order of Jael. The goats raised by the Hite today are descendants of those the Hite people herded 1000s of years ago. Homelands Claimed by Rahab's Ethnic Groups Spoiler: click to toggle Note: While the government's official policy is one of equality, discrimination, poverty, and racial profiling are not uncommon, especially among the Fonan and Hite peoples. |

The Great Seals the Orders of Rahab Each member of the Holy Council is given a signet ring featuring their Order's seal. While once used to authenticate documents these rings are now simply ceremonial. The seal are now generally used on letterhead and singage. The symbols of each of the seals are featured on different denominations of Rahabite coinage and bills. Spoiler: click to toggle

Religion To adherents the Rahabite Religion is known has "The True Way of Rahab". To others The True Way is generally referred to as Elohism, its followers being known as Elohists. The True Way of Rahab is a monotheistic religion. Their god, El, is seen as a benevolent god who protects the Rahabites as a parent protects their children. Followers of the True Way value compassion, justice, and love as their highest virtues. The two highest commandments of the True Way are "Love El, your God who loves you" and "Treat all others as you would wish to be treated". There are 3 main places where rituals are conducted. Household Shrines Daily rituals are conducted in the household shrine. These are usually morning prayers and evening candle lighting. Sinoms Weekly most Rahabites meet in the local sinom, or "Place of Meeting", in order to read scriptures. Most temples function as sinoms for the local community. Temples The temples, 42 of them, are spread throughout Rahab. They are large enough to accommodate a large portion of the population of the district. On Holy Days there are often multiple services so that as many people as possible may participate and arrange for sacrifices to be made. The largest and most important of the temples is the Temple of Mother Rahab in Tamar (also referred to as simply "Tamar Temple"). This is where the High Priestess officiates televised ceremonies on Holy Days. Sinoms also function as local courts and temples serve as district courts. Tamar Temple, as well as serving as district court for Tamar, also serves as the High Court (equivalent to some nations' supreme courts). Animal Sacrifice The True Way still retains the tradition of animal sacrifice. These sacrifices take place in the Temples, though this only happens on special occasions, like holy days, days of mourning or weddings. Generally a dove is an acceptable sacrifice, but it is not unusual for large groups of people (100+) to sponsor the sacrifice of a goat on the High Holy Days, or celebrations such as weddings, or in memorial of a recently departed loved one. Meat of the sacrifices are given back to the person or persons who sponsored the sacrifice. If they refuse it it is fed to the poor in one of the shelters run by the Order of Miriam. Goat skins and fiber are made available to local industry. Bones are also made available to be processed into other products like gelatin. El only wishes to receive the blood of the sacrificed animals Map of the 42 Districts and Temples of Rahab

Geography All of the area of Rahab was originally Mixed Forest Plains. Large tracts of forest still exist in the southern and eastern parts of the country. These forests include both broadleaf and coniferous trees. Esther National Park in the Mesha District showcases some of the most pristine forest in Rahab. Around Tamar and in the west there remains little sign of these once great forests. The eastern part of the country is nearly level while the rest of the country's terrain is gently rolling hills.
