Geography Quhicha was once completely covered with lush rain forests filled with beautiful and diverse animal life, however that time came and went long ago. Quhicha's environment has been devastated by a sudden industrial boom and enormous population. In the East lies the Sierra Nexitic, though the mountain range is also known by other names in other countries. The Sierra Nexitic was once named in homage to Tlalcatia's sacred text, the codex nexitic, however in recent years it has adopted a more literal meaning. The Snow fall at the top of the mountain has looks gray due to the enormous amounts of air pollution blown in from the central and costal regions. The Rain forests that covered the countryside have begun to wilt. In recent years the acid rain has been especially harsh, so much so that it has begun to kill almost all manners plant life. As a result once green jungles have become jungles of decay, with barren trees, and forest floors covered in decaying leaves and animals. The Decaying run off collects in Quhicha's largest river the Xil-zeta. To make matters worse factories in major cities dump waste directly into the river in order to save money on removing it. The water has become completely undrinkable, unless first treated. From Otoxche to Plale the Ocean and beaches have also been negatively effected by industrial pollution. The Once crystal clear waters off of the coast have become greenish brown, and virtually inhabitable by most kinds of marine life, and the beaches are completely covered in mountains of trash. What little that does remain in this area has become mutated by uranium run off. Locals have reported seeing seals that have lost all their fur, or crabs with deformed legs. Despite Erroneous amounts of pollution a section of the country has been preserved for the few with the money to afford seeing it. On the Southern border of the country there is a few hectares of unpolluted jungle, and coastline. HIgh pressure weather systems carry rain north, which stops the polluted rain from touching the southern most quarter of Quhicha's countryside. The Coast line however would have normal been as polluted as the rest of the country's beaches were it not for an enormous jetty built on the outskirts of Otoxche. The jetty extends out from shore for over a mile creating a man made current to push the waste runoff out to the deep ocean. This southern section of the country has been dubbed the Imperial Biome. |
