The Sigisians The resistance forces that proved victorious during the brutal Kriegen civil war. The Sigisians are a progressive people with a lust for industry and minerals. Although holding the same pragmatic beliefs about human life as their previous government they nonetheless have a vested interest in the medical sciences. After dealing with the corruption of the noble classe and extreme poverty that the previous government allowed the Sigisians are moving to socialize the economy. Coupled with a consequentialist ideology the new form of government named Maximilianism after it's founder is primed to reshape the nation. The Government of Sigisinus The the closing of the Kriegen civil war and the collapse of the Fifth Great Crusade has left the nation without any form of local government. Instead military command through the remnants of the Iron Guard and the mostly intact Riurs Faurhtjan has taken over. Through this chain of command the Federal Premier and his Ministers are able to govern to some small extent, with the majority of the Sigisians answering to the Laddneian military. Military of Sigisinus The Sigisian military is currently demobilizing with fewer then 75,000 men able to return to active service if the need arises. Post Peace Plans: Minister of War Carolus af Fon has planned for the dissolution of the Iron Guards and the restoration of the RF to no more than 29,000 men. The creation of a small navy is planned for which 11,000 RF troops will be trained. Although flight is still a concern for the Sigisians the power of enemy air dominance has made it clear that they must adopt to the changing times. As such it's expected that some 5,000 men will be trained for service in an air force. Breaking the military down to 10,000 men in the army, 14,000 in the navy, and 5,000 in the air force for a total of 29,000 men. Weapons of the Iron Guards Fire Arms The weapons technology of Eisenkrieg is just as advanced as it's neighbors, however the harsh climate in addition to the defensive doctrine of the nation has lead the Iron Guard to being equipped with out dated weapons that meet their standards for resilience and engagement range. T-13: The T-13 is nearly one hundred and twenty years old, but performs exactly how the Iron Guard needs it to. Nearly unbreakable, needing next to zero maintenance, and incredible accuracy has made this weapon the beating heart of the Iron Guards. Magazine size: 5 Type: Bolt action Weight: 9 lbs Length: 50 in Cartridge: 7.92x57mm Maximum engagement range: 900 meters Spoiler: click to toggle T-20: The T-20 is a newer faster firing rifle then the T-13. Slightly less accurate and needing more maintenance has lead to the rifle being relegated to use outside of the fortress-cities where greater firepower is needed. It is kept in great numbers despite it's minimal use. Magazine size: 20 round box magazine Weight: 9.63 lbs Length: 43.3 in Cartridge: 7.5x55mm Maximum engagement range: 640 meters Spoiler: click to toggle T-33: A light machine gun that's just a little over fifty years old. Able to fire at up to 1,300 rounds per minute it has become the secondary machine gun for the Iron guard. Usually moved in a team of two it allows the Iron Guard a mobile source of overwhelming firepower. Magazine size: 500 round belts Weight: 24 lbs Length: 48 in Cartridge: 7.62x51mm Maximum engagement range: 1000 yards (3000 yards when bolted down) Spoiler: click to toggle T-67: Considered terribly outdated outside of Eisenkrieg the T-67 has proven to be incredibly reliable and deadly. Many a gun port in the mountain fortresses has one of these constantly aiming out of it. Firing a round that can piece body armor and lightly armored vehicles the Iron Guard sees little reason to replace it. Magazine: 200 round belts Weight: 75 lbs Length: 60 in Cartridge: 12.7x108mm Effective range: 2735 yards Spoiler: click to toggle Artillery Eisenkrieg knows the difficulties of defending a fort in the age of heavy artillery. Fortunately for it mountains are incredibly hard to damage with even nuclear weapons and the Iron Guard is equipped with enough field guns to silence almost any opposing artillery fire. YH-622: If the T-13 is the heart of the Iron Guard then the YH-622 is the fist. This massive 180mm gun forms the backbone of the Iron Guard's defensive plans. Able to hit a target up to 30 miles away with devastating accuracy they are prized above all else. Weight: 47,300 lbs Rate of fire: 1-2 rpm Shell: 180mm HE/HEI Maximum range: 30 miles Number possessed: 1,375 Spoiler: click to toggle YH-993: The YH-993 has reduced destructive power and range compared to the YH-622, but a slightly high rate of fire. It's often used as a training gun for it's larger cousin. Weight: 16,027 lbs Rate of fire: 4-5 rpm Shell: 152.4mm HE/HEI Maximum range: 10.7 miles Number possessed: 3,000 Spoiler: click to toggle YH-24: The main anti-armor gun of the Iron Guard. This weapon is terribly outdated and is unable to engage modern tanks. Weight: 9,700 pounds Rate of fire: 15-20 rpm Shell: 88mm HEAT/HEIAP Maximum range: 2.5 miles Number possessed: 5,244 YH-105: The YH-105 is an anti-armor that is replacing the YH-24. It is both far more powerful and more reliable. With production moving at full steam a total of 5,000 of these guns are expected to be ready by the end of the year. Weight: 14,495 pounds Rate of fire: 6-8 rpm Shell: 125mm HEAT/HEIAP Maximum range: 30 miles Number possessed: 712 (mass production under way) Spoiler: click to toggle YH-19: A heavier multi-purpose gun able to strike out against far off targets. The YH-19 is popular both for it's destructive power as well as it's easy handling. Weight: 15,690 lbs Rate of fire: 3-5 rpm Shell: 121.92x785mm HE/HEI/HEIAP Maximum range: 12.67 miles Number possessed: 2,100 Spoiler: click to toggle SJ-74: The mainstay of the Iron Guard's anti-aircraft program. Able to hit targets up to 23,000 feet with flak bursts they are known to be both numerous as well as quick to fire. However they are unlikely to be used as the bad weather in Eisenkrieg makes flight all but impossible. Weight: 4,400 lbs Rate of fire: 200 rpm Shell: 37mm He Flak Maximum range: 4.35 miles Number possessed: 6,750 Spoiler: click to toggle

The Economy of Sigisinus As is taught by the Cult of Iron, each coin, computer, car, gun, I-beam, or any other object of metal has been crafted to free metal from it's primitive form. It is for that reason that not only does Sigisinus produce almost only heavy metal items but also very high quality goods. Due both to it's location and the man made harm done to it's environment Sigisinus creates high quality armored all terrain vehicles from the small four person "Yeti" to the warship sized "Steel Goliath". They also produce high quality body armor, weapons, building materials, and computer parts. Sigisinus relies primarily on imports for fresh food and petroleum products. Although it has a few large subterranean mushroom growing farms (the mushrooms are broken down and hyper processed into food bars to be eaten once per day) it lacks the ability to sustain itself without outside trade. Although once an issue fresh water is now in ample supply thanks to advanced recycling methods and newly found underground lakes. The Sigisians trade in small silver crosses for their various good and are given a small ration of the currency along with food bars for their weekly pay. Spoiler: click to toggle Sigisinus is known for it's massive metal production Edited by Eisenkrieg, Apr 26 2013, 12:30 PM.

WMDs of Sigisinus Nuclear Sigisinus neither supports the use of nor uses weapons of the nuclear variety. Some of the cities supposedly have developed nuclear technology, however none of them use it. Nuclear reactors have been deemed unsafe due to their ability to irradiate an entire city should they melt down. Biological Sigisinus lacks any biological weapons and sees them as both inefficient and cowardly. Chemical As per the terms of it's surrender to Greater Laddneia Sigisinus will begin dismantling it's chemical weapons capabilities shortly. Edited by Eisenkrieg, Apr 26 2013, 12:29 PM.

Early History of Eisenkrieg The foundations of the modern "nation" of Eisenkrieg were believed to have been lain around the year 3,000 BC with the creation of the first city in the foothills of Vestlicten-Tstnee where the ground was fertile and the run off provided plentiful supplies of water. This city was named Zuhause and thrived as the population grew. Around 2,200 BC the first primitive metalworking techniques were documented, being used as farming instruments. It was at this time that the first expeditions to the peak of Unbesiegbar, the tallest of the Vestlicten-Tstnee mountains, was attempted. After three disastrous attempts failed a fourth expedition succeed and and presented a collection of tools to their god, Herrscher. The next three hundred years would be wonderful to the peoples of Eisenkrieg, they flourished and many other cities where built around the base of the mountains spreading from the Concordia Sea in the north west to the plains in the south. Technology advanced as the population grew, this would be the first golden age of Eisenkrieg. It was during this time that Gregorith Hienden was crowned King of the Freudig, or the Joyous as the people had come to call themselves. Grain farming became common and the last of the nomadic peoples in the land settled into civilization. The stone weapons of the period were slowly replaced with bronze and hunting became much easier. Ancient writings revile however that in the year 1887 BC the Kingdom of Freudig was to come an end. An enormous fire of unknown origin swept through the forests of Fruedig and decimated many of the proud cities in a horrific blaze. Zuhause was not spared. The King, Tatarian III was immolated as he stood before the inferno pleading with Herrscher to spare his people. The eastern remnants of Fruedig were isolated from one another well the western lands didn't hear the news of the disaster for months. Caught behind the mountain the massive clouds of soot and ash stayed in the east were it blotted out the sun, ruining crops and starving the people of the east. In the west little has changed aside from a growing feeling of dread as they watched the dark clouds in the east. The peoples of the west after seeing nothing but ashen lands when they went to see why they hadn't had contact with there refrained from traveling into what they believed was now an accursed land. The next respectable account from the eastern lands is from the year 1273 BC. It seems that due to starvation the majority of the cities in the east had been abandoned as the people returned to their nomadic ways during the years between then and the fire. A city had now been rebuilt by the spiteful easterners upon the remaining ruble of Zuhause and with a restoration of civilization the people sought answers. Their King had died, their god had abandoned them, they would have their revenge. An enormous number of men marched to the peak of Unbesiegbar once again, this time not to worship, but to slay. An enormous fire was lit and the wise men and priests chanted for Herrscher to come and speak with them. Winds blew and snow melted and the fire crackled nearly ten stories high. Then it happened, the ground began to melt beneath the fire. The mountain cracked and the men screamed with joy, their god was coming. However not all among them wanted to destroy Herrscher and so those men ran forward towards the fire and screamed warnings to stay away. Filled with hate they were wrestled to the ground, but filled with a zeal they killed all who approached them or the fire. It was at that moment that they died, an explosion of molten iron leapt from the ground and tossed the massive fire away and consumed the defenders of Herrscher. The next few years were spent experimenting with the metal that was far stronger then bronze, the metal that had slain a god. The peoples of the city in the foot hills came to the peak to worship the miraculous metal that had liberated them, and named it Eisen (to require in ancient Kriegen). Using this metal they built a house of worship that was both a cathedral as well as a grand smithy around the ore. Building homes, tools, and weapons from the miraculous substance they vowed to give form and life to the entirety of their sentient savior. Despite the terrible conditions and work required to bring food up the mountain a city, named after their last king; Tatarian, was built at the peak of Unbesiegbar. The people thrived and entered a second Golden Age as they began to mine deep into the earth and give form to their new ally. However their was much Eisen to be found in all the land, a so began the First Great Crusade. The men of the new Theocracy of Eisen marched across the mountains lighting fires to find more of the metal. It was during this expedition that the western lands were rediscovered. Those who lived their had yet to discover Eisen, and still worshiped Herrscher. Outraged by this bands of men equipped with iron weapons and armor attacked the cities of the west for seven years, when the First Great Crusade Ended the people of the west had been slain to the last man, woman, and child. The western cities and forests were burned and their fields coated in ash. By 956 BC the people of Eisen had begun to settle in many mountain cities where they found iron. The Golden Age continued and technology and population size advanced. It was a good time for the mountain people of Eisen. |

“Hroth giban Sigisinus! Hroth giban mana-seths!”
|
The Middle Period of Eisenkrieg By 622 BC the people of Eisen had become divided. Only their need to mine and craft held the increasingly paranoid peoples together. However even the love of iron and the memories of the First Great Crusade could not bind forever an increasingly unstable region. In the year 542 this instability boiled over when the lords of the now Seventeen Cities of Eisen came before the Iron Council, the religious rulers of the city of Tatarian and effectively the rulers of the whole of Eisen. They demanded that each of the lords be given a seat upon the council and that the lord of the Seventeen Cities be given the right to judge the purity of their iron finds. Although these demands were extreme they would have been acceptable under the circumstances if it was not for the final demand, that the clerics of the Iron Council announce the divinity of the Seventeen Lords. Asking for time to contemplate the demands the Iron Council retreated to it's citadel inside Tatarian. It was there that the Second Great Crusade was declared. The Seventeen Lords were declared heretics and sentenced to death, their cities were to be captured and held for the greater glory of the People of Eisen. As the proclamation was spread throughout the Vestlicten-Tstnee the peoples of Eisen began to take up arms for the Council. The loyal armies of the Seventeen Cities marched to assault Tatarian with the haste only those fanatical to their supposedly divine lords could muster. The siege was brutal and lasted some three years until Tatarian fell and the Council was slain. However the loyalist armies were greatly weakened and the makeshift armies of the Eisen Crusaders inflicted enormous casualties. In 476 BC the Second Great Crusade came to an end. The Seventeen Lords were dead and gone, two of the cities were laid to waste never to recover. The once populous and mighty lands of Eisen were in ruins, nearly forty percent of the population was dead. A new Iron Council was convened in Tatarian that decreed that all the remaining cities were returned to purity, however that was the total extent of their actions. The cities lacked rulers, the food supply was scarce and iron mines on the surface neared depletion. One by one the cities outside of Tatarian feel into civil war as more powerful warlords fought one another for control. For 572 years the lands of Eisen burned, the sons of the sons of the sons of the long dead fought for control of the ruins of their mountain homes. In the year 104 CE peace was finally restored in Cherganot, the last of the warring cities. The lands of Eisen had been at war for almost six hundred years and it showed. The cities were blackened and ruined, the people starving, all hope was gone. To make matters worse a plague struck only twelve years later. The unity of the people of Eisen collapsed. The Theocracy of Eisen came to an end. For twenty more years the plague that would come to be known as the Melting Curse ravaged the Vestlicten-Tstnee. In the year 136 CE the plague seemed to come to an end for all the good that it did, the population was reduced to less then thirty thousand. All the bodies of the dead from the last twenty years were burned in one night, the fires lit the skies for days. The Iron Council had ceased to exist after it's last member had died some fifteen years before and the individual cities lacked any real central government so the people came together in the ruins of Tatarian and looked across their ruined lands. For three days the various peoples stayed in Tatarian, their spirits broken, their hope gone. On the forth day as the embers of the funeral pyres died down the people of the mountains went to the last intact structure in the entirety of the Vestlicten-Tstnee, the Great Eisen Cathedral. Around it they built a massive fire and vowed to join their fallen loved ones in returning to the embrace of the earth. As families said goodbye to one another and prepared to die in the inferno the ground heaved and broke. The Great Cathedral broke through the ground and fell. The fire followed down the massive hole. Looking down the exhausted peoples saw the shattered remains of their Cathedral broke upon the rocks miles below. However they were stunned when they saw the walls of the massive pit, veins of rich iron extended in all directions. An expedition climbed down into the depths and landed on the remains of the Cathedral looking around they realized the glimmer under the church was brighter then the iron in the walls. They had found silver. With their hope restored in the land and one another the people returned to their cities with zeal. Mining exploded as the first deep mines were built. Agriculture grew to feed the hungry workers and smiths and the population grew for the first time in six hundred years. By 329 CE the cities of the people of Eisen had been reborn. New lords reigned with grandeur over their silver, iron, and stone mine-fortresses. When the lords came together again in Tatarian they came as friends and brothers. They declared themselves the new ruling Council and decreed that they would be named after the metal that returned them to the light and so became the Silver Council. Vowing never to return to the infighting of days past they proclaimed the Lord of Tatarian King of Eisen and Silver and swore fealty to him. And so the Kingdom of Eisen and Silver was born. |

Modern History of Eisenkrieg For over one thousand years the Kingdom of Eisen and Silver flourished in a state of isolation. The fifteen cities dug deeper into their the mountains and made their homes beneath it's surface. Kings came and went, none of them exercising much of their power. The one thousand years peace however was doomed to come to an end. In the year 1396 CE city of K'kagret smiths discovered steel. This miraculous new iron-coal invention was shown to be far superior to simple iron and the smiths quickly improved their methods for creating better steel faster. However the King gave an order forbidding the use of or creation of steel on the pain of heresy. The Lord of K'kagret was stunned, the King hadn't exercised such power in hundreds of years, he was a King among equals. The royal order was ignored and steel production continued onward. When the King ordered that the other Lords arrest the rouge Lord and destroy all knowledge of steel in the city they were both confused and worried. A King had never made such demands before, and to remove all the knowledge would require purging the entire smith class; something that could never be accepted. Some Lord reluctantly move their armies south to K'kagret intent on fulfilling the King's orders. However other mobilized to defend K'kagret well they went to Tatarian to try and change the mind of the King, yet others kept their armies unraised and and traveled to speak with the King. Events did not unfold as the Lords had imagined. The King branded all the defenders of K'kagret heritics along with those who had not mobilized their armies. When they were all gathered the King had them put to death. The shocked heirs of the now deceased Lords moved their armies to attack Tatarian and avenge their fathers. Meanwhile the King ordered K'kagret razed, several Lords who had previously obeyed rejected this order and fighting broke out in the city among the armies. The King declared the Third Great Crusade against the steel using heretics and traitors. This was the final straw for the remaining loyalist lords. The tales of the fallout from the Second Great Crusade echoed in their minds and all the Lords marched against their King. However no great battle took place as the King was killed by a mob in Tatarian and his son was installed. The new King quickly surrendered and the Silver Council met again. Never willing to be ruled again the Lord demanded that the King return to his status of Lord. However the religious significance of the King had become too great for title to ever truly be destroyed and instead the Lord proclaimed themselves High Lords and equal in power to the King who was reduced to the title of High Lord of Tatarian and Silver King of Eisen. K'kagret was never rebuilt and the cities of Eisen now numbered fourteen. For the next hundred years the Kingdom of Eisen endured under the Silver Council and not once did a citizen travel outside the foothills and into the accursed land that their ancestors had come from. Until the far northwestern city of Staunen was approached by visitors speaking a strange tongue. They were greeted with great reservation by the Eisen people. Escorted by heavily armed soldiers they were brought before the High Lord. When the High Lord realized they were not from the mountains he was astonished. Only the old westerns had lived outside the mountains. As was done in the First Great Crusade to westerners the High Lord had the visitors put to death and every trace of them destroyed, such was the first meeting between the Kingdom of Eisen and the Neolantian Empire. Ten years later more visitors came before the iron gates of Staunen, in a much less peaceful manner. The city was assaulted by canon and gun. Those in the city had never seen such weapons and quickly opened the doors of their city in amazement. It was a mistake that they would not survive. The huge city was put to the torch and tens of thousands died. A few years later in 1509 CE the Silver King came before the representative of the Neolantian Empire and pleaded for peace. A deal was struck and the ruins of Staunen became a Neolantian fort and the Kingdom of Eisen would pay half their coal, iron, gold, and silver to the Neolantians each year. The people of the Kingdom of Eisen went into culture shock, not only was their metal being stolen from them but heretics could destroy them. Fumbling the people of Eisen adapted the Neolantian technology as quickly as they could. For two hundred years The Kingdom of Eisen struggled under the Neolantian demands, but managed through the sheer inhospitably of their lands to avoid direct rule. In 1709 the Silver King convened the Silver Council and it was agreed that the heretics must no longer be allowed to steal the land beloved resources of the Kingdom. Resistance was set up and for the next hundred and thirty years as resources were kept from Neolantia and industry grew. By 1842 The Kingdom of Eisen had entered the industrial revolution with a zeal. Advancing at an incredible pace it's military became a force not seen since the early days of the Theocracy of Eisen, it's mines went nearly a a kilometer underground and extended in all directions. The people lived happily deep in their mountain fortresses and new their nation was on the verge of greatness. In 1848 the Silver Council convened for a single day in late April, the Forth Great Crusade was called. The Fourth Great Crusade as it is called in Eisenkrieg or the War of Frozen Slaughter as it's called in the rest of the world lasted for three years. The weak Neolantian Empire was unprepared for the invasion as the actual numbers of Eisen people was totally unknown. Old Staunen was taken by surprise and the poorly maintained fortress fell in days. Ever man, woman, and child east of Staunen was slain. The cities were burned, the lands destroyed, the culture wiped from existence. All signs of Neolantia in The Kingdom of Eisen were obliterated, books burned, paintings thrown down, and sympathizers put to the sword. The total annihilation was described as "a tornado of liquid metal and war". Pleased by the fear they instilled in their foes the people of Eisen added war, or Krieg, to their name to remind themselves that they would never resist war in the face of an enemy. So came into existence the modern name of Eisenkrieg. Realizing their power the Silver Council moved their armies south to the lands that their ancestors had so long ago lived in and claimed that "Forever the living and the dead of Eisenkrieg would be united under one banner". So it came into being that by 1857 the modern boundaries of Eisenkrieg came to be. Over the next seventy years Eisenkrieg advanced industrially at a break neck pace. It's mines stretched more then three kilometers underground and the population was growing. However the pollution of the now massive forges, refineries, mines, and factories deep in the mountains became an issue. It was decided that, unlike other nations who tried to reduce pollution, Eisenkrieg would do nothing. The slow blackening of the world would show that it was the hard metal of the ground, not the weak organic beings who walked upon it, was truly the strongest. By 1923 CE all Kriegens were constantly wearing gas masks when above ground. Eisenkrieg remained bitter to the world and did not participate in the World War, preferring to sell whatever the heretics needed to destroy themselves. By 1955 the High Lords had usurped the power of the ailing Silver King in entirety and reduced the role of King to a purely diplomatic and religious role. In 1963 the new King allowed the Silver Council to control all executive power thus ending the Kingdom. The Ferric Confederacy of City-Fortresses of Eisenkrieg came into being. For the last seventy years the nation has become very decentralized with the fortress-cities effectively being their own sun-nations. Fighting between cities is common, but rarely destructive. The nation has been forced to interact with the world more in order to sustain it's food supplies and acquire luxury goods for the ruling class. Never the less the people of Eisenkrieg remain extremely xenophobic and do not allow outsiders into their nation without diplomatic or trade reasons. The terrible weather and toxicity of the mountain nation has allowed it to remain undisturbed and unbothered just they way the people want it. Edited by Eisenkrieg, Apr 9 2013, 08:30 PM.

The munitions of the Iron Guard With the industrial power of Eisenkrieg behind it, the Iron Guard is able to field extraordinarily destructive munitions. The average bullet possessed by a Kriegn soldier is in fact not Full Metal Jacket ammunition, but rather are armor piercing incendiary rounds. All artillery pieces are also equipped with incendiary shells such as the I-27 HEIAP shell, a shell designed to penetrate thick tank armor and then set the inside on fire with an explosion of white phosphorous.
