Salamu alaikum wa rahmatullahe wa barakatuhu Hello all I am new to this forum and I have a particular issue I wanted to throw at you all A man burns a poppy and is fined £50 laughable really. An edl member in his speech insults the Prophet Muhammed sallalahu alahe wa sallam whilst the edl members jeer on P........... (I don't want to use the word) like the football hooligans I use to encounter in the mid eighties. Is there any dialogue to be had with these people? |

Walaykum As Salaam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatahu. First and foremost, welcome to the forum. We are working hard to ensure that this is a forum of truth and justice. As muslims, we should always ensure that we have a balnced opinion, unlike many 'other' forum some of us have been on In relation to the 2 points you make, on the face of it, it might sound laughable but we need to look deeper into the issue. If someone burns a poppy, we have to ask ourselves........what is the repercussions of that action? How would that make people feel? How many people would it impact on? I think you will agree that even though that action was small, it caused a massive wave of anger towards it. So it would be fair to say that many many people were upset or felt insulted by that action. The courts fined him £50 for causing all that anger. With regards to the EDL's hate speech, I do believe that a certain member who was at the forefront of the speech was arrested for incitement to hatred. It will be interesting to see the outcome of his case. As Muslims, any action we take must be for the greater good. If we do an action that causes an evil that is either equal or greater, then that action is not permissible for us. In terms of a dialogue with the EDL........sometimes it feels like we may as well bash our heads against a brick wall. However, this is the reason we have set up this forum. InshaAllah, we will refute their arguments for all to see here without anyone 'deleting' posts. We hope that we can make this into a community that will work together to achieve this goal and I hope that you will join us in our efforts. |

And do not argue with the People of the Scripture except in a way that is best, except for those who commit injustice among them, and say, "We believe in that which has been revealed to us and revealed to you. And our God and your God is one; and we are Muslims [in submission] to Him." Surat Al-`Ankabūt [29:46] Follow me on Twitter

Dear friend welcome to this forum: The 'poppy burning stunt' and the insulting remarks about the Prophet (pbuh) made by the EDL are both forms of extremism we hope to refute in this forum. We abhor both of these cowardly acts that go against the true teachings of Islam and do nothing to present Islam in a positive light to the masses in the UK. When you browse the various topics in this forum you will see us exposing the 'extremists on both sides'. Once people understand how the 'poppy burners' are the worst ambassadors of Islam they can then start to see how the arguments of the EDL are baseless. On this forum we have some members who have been refuting extremism within Islam for over 20 years. They will be giving you an insight into how extremists highjack the cause of mainstream muslims and forward themselves as the 'voice of Islam/Muslims in the UK. It is only the likes of Anjem Choudhury the former head of Al Muhajiroun who write antagonising letters to the EDL which exasperates them in their hate towards Muslims. Finally this forum will give the 'extremists from both sides' a chance to see what the average person (muslim & non muslim) really thinks of them. It is a tool for the 'silent majority' to express themselves in a debate that often ignores their views. Everyone will be able to read posts on various subjects that we hope give a true reflection of the teachings of Islam. Edited by Compatriot, Mar 13 2011, 03:36 PM.

welcome to the forum Mohammed: Allah says in the Quran: "..and there is nothing upon you except to relay the great message..." (Soora Gashiyah) |

Allah says "Let there be no compulsion in religion, indeed truth and guidance is made crystal clear from ambiguity and falsehood" TMQ - Chapter 2 verse 256. He most high and blessed also said: "Indeed, We hurl the Truth against falsehood, and it knocks out its brain, and behold falsehood does perish! TMQ- Chapter 21 verse 18.
