Power playing No "power playing." Any form of cheating (automatic hits and controlling another player's character) is commonly referred to as 'power playing. Godmoding No godmoding. Godmoding can occur when a character describes an event, or a series of events, he or she has taken against another character or interactive object. Most often with the purpose of negative effects, or granting some other effect inconsistent with an innocent view of the narrative. Godmoding can also refer to the case where a player definitively describes the outcome of their own actions against another character or interactive object. Mary Sues No Mary Sues/Gary Stus. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mary_Sue) Despies No despies. (http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=despie) Grammar/Spelling Proper grammar and spelling are a MUST. Mistakes are understandable, of course. No one is perfect and we understand that but we do, however, expect you to do your best. Fighting Fights between characters will happen in certain instances. However, in-character fights are give-and-take. You may not auto-hit another player, and keep in mind dodging all attacks is impossible. Also, no killing other players. If you want to quit make sure the other people know and you may make a post that "kills" your character off. Post length We understand writers block, but if you are starting a RP please have at least 5 full sentences. At least 5 sentences are needed when replying. Double-posting No double-posting. There is never any reason to post twice in a row, as posts can be easily modified. Out Of Character The majority of any OOC posts in the roleplay should be appropriately marked and kept relatively small, as well as on topic. All large Out Of Character posts regarding the roleplay should be kept on the OOC sub-board that will be created for each roleplay. Any posts posted within the roleplay itself that are wholly OOC shall be moved. Joining ALWAYS post in the OOC sub-board asking to join before joining a particular roleplay. Asking Someone to Leave Do not ask people to leave; Cafe Admin will do that if needed. If you have any complaints about a person PM the staff. Other Rules If there are rules posted at the beginning of the thread you wish to join, you must obey them. Kat speaking-- We don't expect perfection, and you certainly are going to forget one or two of these, so don't worry and just do the best you can. If an infraction occurs, you will receive a pm from Cafe Admin explaining your error, and you will be asked to be mindful of it in the future. Now, have fun and remember - play nice. |
