Eight A.M.

Brrrrriiiiiing!

The bell resounded in the armour-clad man's ears as he pushed open the door marked 'A-17' in boldface red lettering. Used to hearing sounds much louder than the bell, it did more to put him off his guard than it did to make him react as the students in the corridors were - that is to say, groaning and clutching their precious earlobes as they bustled off to their classes.

But, such was to be expected from the first day of a new school year. What Storn did not expect, however, was the horrific condition of his classroom. The desks and chairs and filing cabinets - they weren't tarnished in any way at all, no. The problem wasn't their condition, actually - it was that they were there. Well, the instructor thought, My initiates can easily begin their bodily workouts this way, I suppose. A grin worked its way across Storn's face as he began to enjoy his position before the first unlearned soul stepped into his room. It disappeared as quickly as it came, though, and the war hero mentally focused on preparing his lesson plan for the day's Tactical War class he had scheduled for co-conducting during fifth period.

As the first batch of students barged through the doorway like untrained monkeys, sat down, and started eagerly conversing about an irrelevant matter, Storn smiled inwardly. "I wouldn't get too comfortable over there!" His voice sprang out like thunder, filling all corners of the room with its power. There was a slight metallic, almost robotic vibration and delay that accompanied Storn's booming voice, evidence of his infusion with the Occult psychics. The students looked at him with curiosity, yet they exhibited something quite close to fearful respect at the mere sound of him. The intimidating armour the warrior wore was more than likely a factor to be considered, as well.

Motioning with his hands flying upwards, he stated, as though questioningly, "I hope you four aren't the only ones who signed up for my class, or else we'll be looking at quite a long term together." His trailing smile was a few notches down from menacing, but not above discomforting. None of the students made any comment to Storn, as they were no-doubt second-guessing their choice of a so-called 'exploratory' class. Time to get to work on these kids, as soon as the rest of 'em arrive.

Opening the door, quirking one eyebrow. "Am I early?" Asked almost sounding depressed. Well, This wasn't exactly his first choice class, in fact it wasn't even on his list. No, the school deemed it necessary for him, in particular. Hoping that this might weed out some of his negative behavior by mean of, a more direct outlet.

Walking through the door, spotting the armour clad one, assuming it was none other then the "Teach, right?" Asked as he made his way over towards an empty desk. Setting that sad empty, almost untouched, though outstandingly overused single shoulder strap back pack, next to his right side of the desk. Lounging back in his chair to wait and see if any other students would be arriving or if this was it.

A few minutes after the bell, the door opens. Walking in slowly taking in the male and the teacher. Rolling her eyes and brings the lollipop back to her lips. Slipping it back into her mouth to block her rude words about what the teacher is wearing. Slipping into the desk closest to the door, sitting side ways. Her escape already planning out in her head.

Her classes were chosen by her parents. So this would be her favorite they thought. The stick moves between her lips, showing the boredom that is beginning to sink through. Slipping her black backpack down onto the floor in front of her. A soft sigh escapes her with the lollipop still in her mouth. The stick moving once more in a figure eight then in a heart. Drawing designs in the air to occupy herself.

Behind the other girl, violet eyes flicking about the room, was Artemis Darkstorm. She'd paused just inside the doorway, taking in the room, the teacher, and the other students.

"Hmph."

Nothing about this room impressed her at all. Especially not for the subject at hand - Self defense. Of course, she did have several years training in martial arts as it was. Without another sound, she moved to a seat in the back, silently wondering one thing: How were they going to learn self defense with all this useless junk in the way?

As the bell rang a second time, signifying the start of period one, Storn clapped his large, red gauntlets together for a powerful and attention-drawing sound. Standing up, he prepared to address the class, regarding the mere seven- or eight-foot tall ceiling with contempt. "I feel like I'm gonna hit my head off this thing," he said, comically annoyed, as he turned his attention to the students.

"Welcome to self defense, class!" This he accompanied a purposely fake smile with. "Here, you will learn to defend yourself." He paused, eying the students. "Shocking, I know!" he added, drawing a few half-hearted chuckles from the front row. Then, with an added level of seriousness, Storn gazed at the desk of a small, lolipop-sucking girl who was not all focused. "I had originally planned to start some basic 'get to know you' activities, so I can learn to remember your names and find out what you know about self-defense, but..." As he trailed off, he pointed to the girl's desk, catching her attention. "These things are here! Why the hell you'd toss junk into a self-defense class is beyond me. Needless to say, we have to clear these things out of here." As he spoke, his eyes traveled down the columns, counting a total of twenty-four desks, only sixteen of which were filled. "Everyone!" he said, motioning for them to rise, "Dump your books, bags, and accessories, and grab your desk!" Storn himself grasped two empty front-row desks. "We don't have all day, boys and girls. Let's go!" He watched, hefting the desks as if they were of negligible weight, and as the students managed to lift their desks, the massive instructor set out through the door they all came through.

"It's not that far to the storage room. Try and keep up!" He saw a black-haired girl speed up slightly in reaction to his comment, and chuckled at the sight. "Ah, mirth," he whispered to himself. Then, louder, as they approached a large room with a door marked 'STORAGE,' Storn said, "Land ho!" in his best pirate inflection - which was quite good as far as they go - and raised a desk, as if to say, 'stop!' Dropping one desk to open the door and following up by tossing his in, he motioned, with a sweep of his arm, to say 'after you,' and stepped out of the way. When everyone had finished shoving their desks into storage, Storn motioned for them to follow him back to the classroom. "Let's head back and talk about each other. Won't that be fun?" His overly-fake smile appeared again. He was enjoying himself already. "Hut, two, one!"

Violet eyes had been eyeing the girl with the lollipop, and from the moment she'd first seen that girl.. She knew she was not going to like her. Then, those eyes flicked to the teacher. On the inside, she was groaning. Was he really trying to be comical and fake-cheery?

"Here, you will learn how to defend yourself! Shocking, I know!"

How could anybody even find that funny? Her eyes danced over those in the front row. It sounded more like nervous laughs to her, which brought a smirk. They were intimidated then. But not her. She was quite confident that she could manage her own against this teacher, despite his size.

"Everyone! Dump your books, bags, and accessories, and grab your desks!"

"Really?" She sighed, rising from the seat. "I guess that answers my question.." Was then muttered quietly, as she lifted the single-student desk-chair combo. It was evident her strength was more than an average human, but there was still a slight struggle. Of course, there was little chance of her asking for help.

A proud one, she was.

"It's not that far to the storage room. Try and keep up!"

At the mention of that, she did speed up. The sooner this desk was out of her arms, the less likely she was to show some sign of weakness. Upon reaching the storage room, she was first in line to leave her desk, after Storn's had been tossed in. Then, after the other desks were done with, she was returning to the class.

A fake yawn to comically, annoying teacher. Her eyes make there way to the male she first noticed. Taking in his appearance with no clear emotion showing through. Her eyes look over the other students, still ignoring the teacher. He was just simply annoying to her, of course she would never say so. Her eyes finally fall on a girl with violet eyes.

'Contacts. Has to be contacts.' she thinks to herself.

The teacher finally catching her attention when he points to her. Her lollipop stick points right back at him. Mocking his point then finally listens to what he is saying. A grunt escapes escapes her then she remembers watching this building be built. After the doors were labeled with words or numbers, she had sneaked into the building. It took her three nights to figure out where everything was and not to be caught by the security female. Remembering a short cut to the storage room, she waits to be the last out. Picking up her desk from the legs and carrying it easier from this direction.

Moving the opposite way from the class then sets off at a fast pace. Not one to be left behind or to be last. Moving into the storage room after the forth person. A happy little smile on her lips. Her hands smooth out her dress and she runs right into a male. He chuckles and steps back, "You okay?" "Yes, yes I am fine."she mumbles and tries to get away. He steps in her way once more. Her hand moves to one of the pockets in the dress. A click only he and herself can hear. His eyes widen then he steps back to let her by.

She slips past him on her way back to the class rook, leaving the others to finish the desks. Walking into what seems like an empty classroom. Slipping in a desk that is still left after grabbing her bag. Her head leans back against the wall waiting for the rest of the torture.

Watching The other two women enter in. Lollipop girl, and Violet eyes, that what he'd call them for now. but shortly after this decision, his head met the desktop, and he was now resting. Waking up, as the teacher got louder.

"Damn, man. Can't you shut up?" Was thought loud enough for to sound as though it were a an incoherent mumble. Before the teacher had decided it was time to up and move the desk's.

Seeing everyone else hoisting their desk up, and make there way out the door. He looked at the, rather weighty looking desk. With no one in the room, "Gotta be jokin?" Nope, there was no joke as it was about a minute before he had decided to go take a look out the door, and everyone else was gone. So, Tossing his bag with everyone else, and grabbing the chair, he commenced to Drag the desk chair combination, down the hall way. The screeching sound was loud enough to disturb, any class rooms he passed.

Taking a wrong turn, and finding himself lost now. He must have been some where on the base floor, looking into a class room. There was a dwarf in it. ROTC is what the lettering on the glass of the door read. Looking around, once down the hall way, and turning his head the opposite direction.

"Seems like a decent enough place to leave this useless thing." And so he did, hands in his pockets, and he was heading off back towards the class room. Spotting the Lollipop girl, entering into the class room, just before he did.

She blinks when the door opens and looks to the male from before. A small smirk escapes onto her lips. Letting her head nod to him. Her arms cross along with her legs. The lollipop still rolls around in her mouth. Placing her head back against the wall.

A yawn escapes her before "Got a name?" asking the only one on the room with her. Her right foot tapping the air, waiting.

Looking to her, Moving over to the wall as his lips parted and a clear voice, quietly spoke in the inside manner. "Jack, if you need it."

Crouching down, and leaning his back against the wall. His hand went into his pockets as he stared up at teh Ceiling. Today, he thought, Is going to be a long day.
