Why am i starting to get the feeling that Dark Knights are the stablist characters in the game? I mean sure we have a 10% higher mastery than they do BUT our criticals increase as well, which is the main thing that stigmatized us as being unstable, so there is potential that nothing changed at all. will that 15% chance of hitting more criticals make that big of a difference ratio wise to the power thats added on to our normal damage?

I consider a higher stability being a higher minimum damage. We may be able to hit very high with a critical, but with max Strafe, its still 400% minimum damage, which is quite high. Our Minimum damages are the most stable, our max damages are the least stable.

I view stability as a standard deviation, aka, how far away the min and max are.

DKs probably are not more stable because we have 30% more mastery (where'd you get 10?)

Also our crits weighted against them with SE, I believe our 90% mastery would overrule.

Dks get 20% extra mastery passively from thier dark soul

yea..thats fine on the data screen and all, but when you look at the actual damage output I see Dks damage VERY VERY close together, in some cases almost exactly the same. while Bowmans are still kinda all over the place.

Technically, sins have the most stable, non-crit damage because of the damage calcs for L7 and TT. However, the 90% mastery is going to tighten up our damage rate big time.

My current stats:
84 str, 355 dex, 96 total w. attack
60% mastery damage range (no crits): 706 - 1239 (Max/min difference = 533)
90% mastery damage range (no crits): 1019 - 1239 (Max/min difference = 220)

Strafe damage (if strafe is maxed):
-60% mastery
--min + no crits = 2824
--max + all crits = 9912
--Average (560% damage): min = 3953.6 max = 6938.4
--Diff in raw max/min = 7088
--Diff in avg max/min = 2984.8

-90% mastery
--min + no crits = 4076
--max + all crits = 9912
--Average (560% damage): min = 5706.4 max = 6938.4
--Diff in raw max/min = 5836
--Diff in avg max/min = 1232

There you go, some damage calcs showing the difference.

see that. this is why I think that we are definately not in the stability class. whereas a DK has no crits and 80% mastery. still thinks dks are the stabalist. I don't understand L& because i never cared for it, so I would most likely need more detail on it or look into it to potentially change my mind.

Any class with crits is naturally unstable, DKs will definately be the most stable class around.

As for sins, tehy are actually quite unstable because their multiplier is 2.5~5 min~max
While with 90% mastery ours is 3.24~3.6 for xbow and 3.06~3.4 for xbow.

Quite tight, but crit still throws us off.

But, then again. Storm of Arrows shoots so much faster than a Dragon Knight attacks with Buster or Fury or whatever they're called. Didn't Techno say that the faster you are, the higher the chance of stabilizing your damage?

But yea, then again, Critical >.>

eh....depends on what we are going to call stable. if stability is every hit then know. If you want Hurricane to count as 1 arrow (basically assuming it shoots 8.5 arrows per shot or smtg like that) than maybe...

Then stability could be damage over a set period of time. How often does it hit the average.....

Stability definiton could vary....

But I always considered it as each total damage output of one skill (total of fury, Strafe, DS, etc) because that easily fits and works for all classes and is at least simple for me.

If the max a Drk Fury could do is 1800 total ( pretty dam weak) then there min would be 1440. There dmg would deviate by just 360. Basically the dmg differiations when compared in overall dmg are usally so small, that they are very close together most of the time. If you took 10 damamges overtime I bet they would be very very close.

Whereas even with the speed of SoA if you have deviations like this:

--min + no crits = 4076
--max + all crits = 9912

I don't know...

if you took 10 overall outputs overtime ( I am almost positive) they will have larger gap differences in totality than a Drk.

Triple Throw doesn't use the L7 formula, I hope you know ^^
