To make it short, I'm taking a... err... involuntary 3-month hiatus from June to August.

While I'm offline I'd like to work a little on long-overdue updates for the training guide. In order for me to be able to do that, I'll need to know what to change.

So I'd appreciate it if someone -cough Spirit- (no really, anyone who wants to help out can) organize every training recommendation and other requested changes into one post. Everything should be either in the Input thread, or a reply on the training guide thread itself, so other than that no sifting through old stuff should be necessary.

Please :D

I haven't been following those. I am going to write the 4th job section of the bow v xbow this summer when I too am involuntarily out.

But Sap, with you and me gone, who will update the damage ranges, xD

I'll actually have internet on my iPhone, but I'm helpless without copy/paste.

I've been at Black Kents a few times, both solo and in a party with a Hermit friend. It was easy to find out the sniping places, but for people that don't know of them providing that guide from Sleepywood helps a lot since it is the best approach to that map. I found that the potion use in that map is very high since there are very little safe platforms to actually fire onto the Black Kents from. The spawn is high and they rapidly spawn after you kill them, but not nessicarly on the platform you killed them on, but it often happens on the middle platform.

You can use the bottom right and bottom left ledges to try to snipe, or at least a spot so you don't get ran over by the Black Kents. I find that having Eagle/Hawk is very useful, and Puppet to lure the Kents away from you so you have breathing room, this is most apparent in the middle platform and more so at the top left platform. I will say how Eagle/Hawk is very useful in a moment. Strafe is a must in the map but there is use for Arrow Rain/Arrow Eruption when you are clearing the bottom right and bottom left. You lure the Kents near the edge and you are able to Arrow Rain/Arrow Eruption them without getting hurt, the problem with this is that often times a Kent will spawn near you, so this is when Hawk/Eagle comes in handy and stuns them so you can continue firing AR/AE or you can try to deal with that newly spawned Black Kent. This is important because this will save you most of the time from being knocked down into the mob you just created.

The map is nice and small, not too much climbing and also you can get 10 attack fruits at random that last for awhile which can help some people save some money (for example me). The map is decent but I cannot recommend it over the other maps out there like Squids which is much less potion consuming and managable.

A bit new here
and i have also tried the black kentaurus map
IMO, i dun like the map
there is only 1 secure sniping spot and if you are a ranger without a good lvl hawk, than you will be tanking in alot of damage
In this map, it is crucial to clear the middle which might be quite hazardous due to the spawn and no sniping spot

In general the exp is average and the pot consumption is very heavy

This place might be good for higher lvl that wants to gain money due to the nice drops...(even though i can't find any >.>)

Yeah I found it a big potion burn too, but as a Sniper it was more manageable since I have Blizzard, but as I stated before it is just better to go to Squids, and there is pratically always a Squids 1 map open.

For the Sky Nests, i do not believe that it is possible, however it is great exp if you are leeching from someone like say a bishop. my friend was doing this at lvl 90 and he got 2% in ~ the 2-3 minutes we were talking. mabye with a high level AR/AE (max) you could train there, but just strafing them doesn't work (youll get cursed), and since there are no sniping places...

This is for Mu Lung : Wild Bear Area 1.

This map can be shared with a friend or played solo. First off, there are a lot of sniping spots that will help save pots. Second, it's good to have level 1 rain in this map for the bottom portion. You can lure them and shoot away while on a ledge. The EXP is good from 6x-7x and okay from 7x-8x. The drops are okay which you can just NPC. If you're going to share the map, split it so one gets the top, the other gets the bottom. Whoever gets the bottom should have an AoE attack like AE, AR, or lighting.

I think there are a lot of good maps in leafre for bowmen especially sniper/marksman since we have blizzard and frostprey. I myself have almost never trained at newties because I find it kinda boring, so I've been wandering pretty much at leafre and I found a lot of good training places for marksman/sniper.

They are:
1. Crossroads : the map is pretty flat which is good for bowmen since we can't jump shoot like assassins do, and it has a massive spawn of birks, and notice that birks weak agains ice, so blizzard will give more damage than usual, and for marksmen, they can use frostprey which does 4-5k damage to them. And of course birks and dual birks have very good drops.
2.Leafre : Burning Forest. I've been training here for some level, and the exp is really good. Cornian gives 3k and dark one gives 3.7k. The map pretty flat, and since I have blizzard and frostprey, I rarely get hit by them. The spawn is good and there are more dark cornians than green ones, result in a better exp.
3. Leafre : The Forest That Dissapeared. This map is also dominated with Cornians but this one has more green ones than dark ones. The map is really good, it has a better spawn than the burning forest and also the terrain is better. But since there are more green cornians, the exp gained is kinda the same with the burning forest. Because of the better terrain, I save more pots here.
4. Hidden Street: The Hidden Dragon Tomb II. This map is also dominated by Cornians. This map has A LOT of sniping spots but has less spawn. This place is good if you want to save more pots.
5. Leafre: Dragon Forest III. This map is also really good. It has a really massive spawn of brexton. Try it yourself, the spawn is hell! And since they are weak to ice, frostprey + blizzard will help you a lot in killing them. There are a lot of teleport place that will save your time rather than walking around the map.
6. Leafre: Canyon : West Road. Dominated by Dark Wyvern. This place is also good. Not much comment though.
7. Leafre: Entrance to Dragon Nest. This one is kinda similiar with Leafre: Canyon : West Road but it has more flat terrain but less spawn.

Which kind of Kents? If I was to guess it would be Black ones. One way is to go from Leafre and head left West Leafre Forest. Keep on going left to Minar Forest: West Boarder. Then go all the way left to Cranky Forest. Then go to the bottom middle for The Area of Red Kentaurus. Then go to the bottom right portal to the Battlefield of Fire and Darkness. Go all the way to the upper left and you will be at the Black Kent map.

I was reading over your guide today because I'm bored of coolies and I notice you have no information on them. They are a wonderful alternative to STDs and I find I can get nearly the same exp per hour at coolies making many times as many mesos. Selling the teeth for 500 each in my shop makes these sakura cellions with better exp. I've been on map IV merely because I was there first and I learned it quickly. I start on the left side and IA any mobs of 3+ and DS the rest in a rightward pattern. On the right side there is a hill I guess you could call it, so I jump onto it and fire an IA. Then I jump on the rope so that the zombies bunch up (if not done fast enough you will have to run away briefly to lose aggro) and then jump off to the right and kill them. Head up the rope and clear the top platform. Generally the best experience merely because you should have 8-12 zombies piled up. Jump back down to "the hill" and DS any zombies you wish. Jump into the danger area on the right side for a quick way back to the left side.

I'm too weak for Voodoos at this point so I get better exp at zombies. It easily matches money at LMPQ due to secret money making methods I cannot share :)

Figured I'd sign up XD and I wanted an edit but I can't since I was a guest. Pandas and Grizzlys are an absolute waste of time. Coolies have better spawn, give more exp, have less hp, have less Wdef, and have better drops...

I think Weapon Defense should somehow factor in this ratio however. Some monsters like the trickster (lol) are very tricky in this manner. Although they have a wonderful ratio for their level, they have more than twice the WDEF of the monsters their level (zombie mushroom) which means any first jobbers will have an even harder time fighting them. I went there one day and was sorely displeased with these findings. Although it's a minor change with loads of work involved, it would truely be helpful.

Well, Pandas and Grizzleys move faster as well. They hit you just as often as coolies and have nil mobbing potential except the bottom of map I (which you have to clear about 5 other platforms to get a sizable mob) The bottom of map II was somewhat cool since you could IA though the hills in the middle of the platforms, but no more than two or three bears would ever spawn in them, so it was a waste.

I tried out 50 Year Old Herb Garden last night and STDs make it look awful. I suppose you could use it if you can't get the first map of STDs, but the monsters move faster than STDs and although a bit weaker, I just didn't like it. The spawn can compare to STDs, but you lose a bit of training climbing up to mob the middle platform. It's also difficult because IA doesn't curve. With Arrow Bomb you could easily mob the entire platform safely from the tiny platform to the right. The spawn is just about as fast as STDs. Maybe with a Hunter with 30 AB taking the middle platform and a Crossbowman taking the bottom it would work, but I'd still be doubtful of it's usefulness when compared to STDs.

Yes, whenever I wasn't training at Psycho Jacks or Nightmares in my earlier levels I couldn't stop thinking about how I would be getting better exp there and wasting my time. It's just amplified further now since It's taking me twice as long to level and I don't have as much time to play.

In other news. Wdef could be marked on the monster in the form of a + or - sign if they have above average, below average, or no marking if it's average. This matters a ton when you're 2-3 hitting a monster instead of training at a 1-2 hit location because your losing a lot of damage. For example at Voodoos everything about them is better than STDs until you consider Wdef. Since I was 3-5 hitting them, I was losing a lot of damage so STDs/Zombies were still better exp. It might be annoying to add since you'd have to look up all the data, but it's a step in the right direction

Theres a faster alternate way to V/H
To get to Vanity Room/Sophilia Room quicker,
Once you enter Foyer head up the stairs to the 2nd level and go towards the door to the left, you'll appear in another room with a staircase in the center, head up the stairs and enter the door directly above, you'll then appear in the room where both V/H rooms are located.
This way is alot faster, and a common route I was when I lost maps due to the MB glitch.

Entrance to Sky Nest

Big NO for snipers, IA doesn't hit them, they fly above it (hafs that is)

Sky Nest I
See above

Sky Nest II
Although possible (IA wasn't a big deal here), 11+ Bliz is recommended. A puppet combo can't be pulled of because blood hafs inflict weakness, so you can't lure effectively.

Bliz+ strafe is the only way to play here, it has potential, I don't see much of it though

Antelope Place
Again, Bliz is needed, or 9+ puppet.

I was able to stick puppet in harms way for 2-3 of them, but because the spawn is so high bigs mobs were hard to conrol. I would agro them, place puppet after 3 or 4 barb elixers to get away from their m attack, and then go down and kill them. But then one would spawn and I'd have to bliz-strafe it, or remake the mob.

Again, potential, but not likely

Leafre: The Area of Black Kentaurus

Black Kentaurus
Spawn: Medium~High
Training Cost: Medium~High
Movement: Medium
EXP/HP: 1/23.1
Overall Rating: B

I Recommend: Level 85+; Decent Strafe; 11 Bliz for snipers; Some hawk for rangers; 3+ puppet

Notes: Snipers and rangers take slightly different routes. The two pits are snipable from the middle raised area, although Kents spawn on that raised area. After clearing the bottom enough, the right platform can be sniped from the right most wall (they're spears barely hit you). Then the left side is agro them all, then puppet on that top platform. For snipers, you will want to freeze/strafe any single kents, especially when you are on the middle sniping the pits. Rangers need to hawk/strafe. Watch the gophers, they pop out of the ground at certain spots. You will get hit a lot, and they don't drop anyhting special.

http://www.sleepywood.net/forum/showthread.php?t=1382289

This is a place that I used from lvl 31-35. I got bored of rocky masks so I decided to try to find somewhere else, and for me, this place made me gain exp faster.

Forest East of NLC
Monsters:
Urban Fungus
Boomer
Street Slime

There are some platforms to safely shoot monsters, much like the rocky mask area.

I was goofing around there last night and secret spa wasn't anything special. There's too much walking involved for it to be considered a good training area. If you were sharing with a few people it might be better, but I probably wouldn't bother.

Hello, i got news, i found a new training spot for bowmen (i think)

This training spot is The Secret Hot Spa in Showa. The Snipers with their Blizzard train here or Rangers (if strafe first). 200 exp per monsters, some effy (fire monsters), red slime. So plz included this spot in your guide~!

Well if you're in need of money you can train at Pirates with Iron Arrow (or Bomb I suppose) It's not VooHoos, but it's certainly worth a mention if Jr. Yeits made the list. I prefer the second map since it has easier sniping spots, but map 3 is also train-able. Blizzard is highly recomended in case you're getting overrun (or bomb would probably work) but you can almost always be mobbing 5-6 pirates if you know how to control the spawn. You can easily jump onto the masts with 110% Jump (I was using GM Bless) for quicking safe spots, but it can also be done without. Only 11% an hour a few levels ago, but if you're in need of money this spot is the best you can get at this level and still get half decent training.

Hi, I've experienced it as a lvl 62 FA xbow with maxed Iron Arrow and no pkb, and I'd just like to tell you a little bit about Wild Bear Area

Pot usage: low-medium
Spawn: High
movement: low

Tips: No pkb is needed
Snipe with Arrow Bomb or DS at the two platforms on the side,
Snipe with Arrow Bomb or DS on the center platform, or Iron Arrow
Iron arrow, double Shot, or arrow bomb (in order of effectiveness) the bottom floor
Note: Do not make mobs, you will get oeverrun as their walking speed increases dramtically once they are hit

When is the last time you updated the training thread? All of that was from the AGF Input thing 3/26 onwards. I saw that was the last edited date, but I just saw that that was the day you posted it -.-

Iight, I'll notify you when I'm leaving, and tell people to post their ranges in the thread.

I'll give you the format I'd like the ranges in, then I can simply stick them into the program when I get back and do a hyper update.

Unfortunately, due to the program's nature, I can't just have you manuelly update it like Sap did last summer, or maybe I can O_o.

I'll put some thought into it when the date comes closer.
