Literally. The only child of a family that was never at home, the brunette was almost-always alone in her family's little townhouse, even at a ridiculously young age. The only companion she had was her mother Susan, who was a strict workaholic whose care for Elizabeth didn't extend much further than providing her the necessities to live. Susan was a rather harsh woman, and expanded on every single failure Elizabeth made, always telling her to be better. And so Elizabeth tried, because her mother was her only family (her father Alexis was never around, and even when he was, Elizabeth never wanted to bother him with her childishness; she was far too cowardly even then), and she had no one else to please. She became a perfectionist, and under her mother's extremely watchful eye, became an academically (near)perfect student. Elizabeth, though, wasn't as unfortunate as her mother, who had lived a hard, tough life. Her father was actually the son of a self-made millionaire, who, thanks to lung problems and heart attacks, had become too sickly to run his large company without aid. But her grandfather was a stubborn man, and wouldn't let anyone who didn't have his blood running through their veins run the company he treasured so much. So Alexis, to whom photography was losing its glamour, stepped up to the plate, and took over his father as the company head just as Elizabeth turned eleven. And as the head of the company, Elizabeth's father was drilled to stay in place, save the occasional crucial business trip to another state (maybe even country). As such, Elizabeth was allowed much more time with her father, and quickly grew to be a daddy's girl. With the sudden onslaught of riches now surrounding her, Beth's impoverished mother grew greedy. It started with little things, like buying better glasses to replace their badly chipped, ten-year-old ones, and switching her manual toothbrush to an electronic one. Gradually, though, the amount Susan spent on 'household things' started not being able to offset the money they earned a month, because even though Alexis ran the company, much of the profit still went to Elizabeth's grandfather. And at fourteen, Susan and Alexis separated. They had been fighting ever since Alexis stopped moving around for his job, mostly about Elizabeth and Susan's lack of nurturing for her. The money problems had been the final straw for both of them, and after an amicable, albeit frosty, divorce, Susan left Elizabeth in Alexis' care with wads of cash in her pockets, without so much as a wave goodbye to her daughter and ex-husband. The next few years were relatively peaceful after that. Alexis and Elizabeth worked well together, since Alexis was a bit of a slob and Elizabeth had been assigned many of the chores in her home when Susan had been around and working long hours. She excelled at her school, which wasn't of very high caliber because they hadn't been able to afford anything better back when she first enrolled into high school. It wasn't until Elizabeth was nearly sixteen that Alexis and Renee met, and immediately felt a spark in each other. After many dates and the usual meet-the-parents step in the relationship, Alexis felt that he was ready to re-marry. Elizabeth was all for it, partly because she wanted her dad to actually feel what it was like to be married and have an actual family, and also because Alexis was constantly skiving off his work to stare blankly into a wall, lost in a trance about the woman. There was also the incessant blathering about Renee and how pretty she was, how wonderful she was, how much Elizabeth would love her if they went out for some "bonding time". And much as she loved her father, things like that were vaguely creepy. So Alexis popped the question, Renee accepted, and mere months after their engagement they were married. Afterwards, there was some deliberation on which house to move to. Elizabeth was curious and wanted to see what area was better for her schooling career. After a quick search online, she had practically demanded of her father that they pack up and move to Renee's home, which was near to Aurora Academy, a place Elizabeth had dreamed of going to achieve her goal of being a biologist (a broad term, she knows, but she hasn't quite decided what to choose yet). But now that she's at Aurora, Elizabeth isn't so sure it was the right decision. The drama at this school was far more apparent to her than the drama at her old school. Mainly because she herself is in it. And with him eying her strangely, her blatant hatred of her (something which has Elizabeth confused and torn up), and her aversion towards her apparent, the brunette is starting to wonder if she can make it through the school year alive. NothingxxtoxxCHANGExxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx➷`♕ PERSONALITY ➠ ♛『 Bossy ■ ■ xxEver since she was younger, Elizabeth has been intent on being successful in life, and as such, has kept mostly to herself. She can't communicate well with other people, and if she's forced to work together with people she barely knows, she comes off as bossy, eternally unappeasable, and jittery. ♛『 Forgetful ■ ■ xxElizabeth is very scatter-brained. It irritates her perfectionist side to no end. She'll even forget that the piece of paper that she needs to hand in before noon is in her hand and will spend hours scouring even the tiniest specks of grass to find it. ♛『 Indifferent ■ ■ xxShe doesn't mean to be. Really, she doesn't. But Elizabeth's never had someone to show her how to be motherly, and caring, and unbiased. She just doesn't know how to show her soft side. She can be polite when she needs to be, but being open and friendly? No, definitely not. She doesn't know how to let people down easily, because she doesn't know how to be compassionate to others' feelings. When talking to new people around her age, she's detached and acts like she doesn't want to make friends (she does; SO DOES), which is the reason she doesn't have very many friends. She's different around family, though. Around her relatives, she's more open and friendly. ♛『 Perfectionist ■ ■ xxShe will not stand for anything other than perfection, because if it's not perfect, then she's not happy. She started trying to perfect herself since she was younger, and though she tries to be laid-back about getting A's and doing everything well, it's deeply-rooted into her system. She'll do something over and over again until she's at least partly satisfied with it, working endlessly and stressing herself out. (And she can't think straight when she's stressed out.) ♛『 Intelligent ■ ■ xxBecause of her incapability to work TVs, Elizabeth spends her time reading. As a result, she's quite smart. Smart enough to get high marks, but too... evolved... to handle electronics. Her apparent brilliance also doesn't extend to being able to keep her mouth shut, because Elizabeth tends to ramble nonsensical facts (when nervous) and state her thoughts out loud (when stressed and feeling brave) without even realizing. ♛『 Stubborn ■ ■ xxIt's hard to stop Elizabeth once her mind is set on something. A one-track mind, if you will. Her stubbornness applies to her beliefs and her opinions, which can get more than a little irritating sometimes. It's hard for Elizabeth to let go of what she thinks is right, even if it is wrong. It's also hard to prove to the girl that your ideas are better than hers. She's thought long and hard about her ideas and opinions, and proving her wrong makes her re-think everything else she's done. ♛『 Meek ■ ■ xxSometimes. Elizabeth showers herself in self-doubt, and because she knows of her bossy and screechy attitude towards others, she's deluded herself into thinking that everyone hates her. She tries to shrug it off, but outside of academics, she's as silent as a mouse. As easy to step on too. When stressed, though, Elizabeth's meekness vanishes, and she becomes snappy and brusque. ♛『 Charming ■ ■ xxThere are rare times when Elizabeth is at peace with the world. When she's peaceful, she's incredibly calm, easy-going, and nothing like her usual high-strung self. When she's in this mode, it's easy to befriend the brunette, and easy to fall for some hidden charm she seems to possess. Even her normal self can be charming, to those who see beneath her outer shell and see the soft, naive, determined Elizabeth living inside. myxx*xxSOULxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx ➷`❀ LIKES ➠ xxxxx ♡ xxvanilla ice cream xxxxx ♡ xxreading xxxxx ♡ xxknit clothes xxxxx ♡ xxforeign languages, especially french xxxxx ♡ xxcleaning; it calms her down ➷`❀ DISLIKES ➠ xxxxx ☹ xxmath xxxxx ☹ xxsocial gatherings xxxxx ☹ xxtight clothes xxxxx ☹ xxwearing expensive things (she's forgetful; she'll probably lose them somewhere and have to pay for them) xxxxx ☹ xxcats; she's allergic ➷`❀ QUIRKS ➠ xxxxx ★ xxShe's double-jointed. xxxxx ★ xxShe's incredibly old-fashioned, meaning she doesn't get electronics at all. xxxxx ★ xxShe's a bit neurotic about the things she cleans for a little while. She will blatantly ignore you if you so much as blow a speck of dust onto her neatly arranged workspace. xxxxx ★ xxElizabeth is utterly enthralled by shiny objects. She loves to look at them. PickxxyourxxFAMILYxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx ♀ Susan Forrester ➠ x Is her biological mother. She's...unexplainable. Susan came from a slightly impoverished background, and was taught to be strict and unrelenting in her way of life. Rarely did she show Elizabeth any motherly affection, and was always harsh when dealing with Elizabeth's failures. It was like Elizabeth wasn't really her daughter; just a child that she had no connection to, and a child she had to deal with. Elizabeth loves her, though not in the way a daughter loves a mother. ♀ Renee Ashcroft ➠ xElizabeth's new step-mother. She's a lovely woman (Elizabeth cannot believe how pretty she is at times) and Elizabeth is very grateful that she's being so nice to her. Well, as nice as Ms. Sinclair can be. She'd like to be more open to her new step-mother, but she doesn't know how. ♂ Alexis Sinclair ➠ xAlexis is Elizabeth's biological father, to whom she's very attached to. Ever since he took over his family's company, he's been around more, and Elizabeth doesn't feel like she wastes too much of his time anymore. ♘ Aria Marie Sinclair ➠ xElizabeth... doesn't know what to think about Aria. She first met the girl during their parents' wedding, which wasn't too long ago, actually. She's a bit of an enigma to Beth. It's not like she dislikes her new step-sister. It's just... she gets the feeling that Aria isn't all too fond of her. ChoosexxyourxxFRIENDSxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx `•.¸¸.☆ ➠ Nathanial Tristan Worchester - Why does he keep looking at her like he wants to devour her? Okay, maybe she's exaggerating just a tad, but really! He just keeps staring at her and talking to her and she's just not used to it. It's all too awkward. `•.¸¸.☆ ➠ Priscilla Sun Yoon - Elizabeth can practically see the animosity coming out of her in waves. She doesn't really know what to do and think when it comes to her. `•.¸¸.☆ ➠ The Outsiders - They're a great group of people. One of the more accepting groups in Aurora. Elizabeth would like to get to know them, but she's... well, socially awkward. `•.¸¸.☆ ➠ The Royals - One of the biggest mysteries that Elizabeth has ever come across. She's become unwillingly tangled in their world, and is trying to figure out how to free herself from their grip. She isn't one for the drama. Elizabeth had always been a light sleeper. Maybe because the bed she had been sleeping in ever since she was born had been far too lumpy for her to have a luxurious sleep (the previous owner was a twelve year old girl who loved to throw jump-on-the-bed sleepovers), but Elizabeth had always thought that she was someone that would always be awake before the alarm clock rang. Elizabeth, unfortunately, was very, very wrong. "Aughhh!" Groaned the small figure between the fluffy white sheets. The angry moan was muffled by the massive amounts of pillows placed over the figure's head. Rocketing to a sitting position and knocking several pillows right off of the large bed in the process, the brunette sixteen-year-old shot a malevolent glare at her alarm clock, the piercing gaze unusual on her normally calm face. She had heard of it from former classmates, and seen it in many movies before, but Elizabeth had never realized how evil the sound of an alarm clock was until now. Still glaring at the object that was offending her ears (which were terribly sensitive in the morning), Elizabeth slowly fisted a handful of one of the remaining pillows on her bed and quickly hurled it towards the clock. It fell to the floor, wonderfully silent, with a thud. A smile gracing her face, Elizabeth fell back onto her blindingly white sheets, closing her eyes with a happy sigh. She hadn't had such a good sleep in a long, long while. Her new bed, located in her new room in her new house in her new neighbourhood, was absolute heaven to her stressed body. She slept soundly until that devil disguised as a household object decided to ring, waking her up abruptly. For what seemed like forever, but was in reality only a few minutes, the brown-eyed girl stared at the adjacent wall, blinking slowly and not bothering to move a muscle. She was still recovering from the alarm clock's ringing. Slowly, she turned her head to the side, glancing down at the clock, which was face-up. It read 7:30am. Elizabeth reacted quickly--almost comically. Previously sleepy eyes widened to circles and a frowning mouth dropped in shock. She was late! LATE! Elizabeth had never been late before; she was always an early riser, and had never gotten in trouble for being tardy before. "Oh, no!" She groaned, kicking her covers off and leaping out of her bed. The sudden cold bit at her bare legs, and she tried to avoid stepping on the cool floor as much as possible, tiptoeing and jumping to her bathroom. She was halfway through brushing her teeth when she remembered: she wasn't late at all. Loosening her tight grip on her brush handle, Elizabeth slumped forward on the bathroom counter, shaking her head. She had been going by her old high school's times, and they started at the ridiculously early hour of 7:45am. Aria Academy, thank God, had a different schedule. Elizabeth finished brushing her teeth slowly, suddenly very sleepy again. Inside, she was mentally scolding herself for her forgetfulness. She had to get used to this new life of hers; forget all of her old routines and times. They weren't going to work for her anymore. The brunette sighed. She was always bad at dealing with change. But this change was unavoidable. She would just have to make the best of it. Edited by Riella, Feb 10 2011, 04:15 PM.
