For people who barely know me, I prefer to be called ‘Matthew’. ➷` ♛ AGE ➠ xEighteen ➷` ♛ GENDER ➠ x Male. Your vision is impaired, I take it? ➷` ♛ HEIGHT ➠ x5"11 ➷` ♛ WEIGHT ➠ x162 lbs. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ StartsxxwithxxthexxPASTxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx ➷`♘ BIOGRAPHY ➠ x Matthew Schyler Grayson is the son of a distinguished, albeit coldblooded magnate of Le Vin Paradis, Inc. and a famous designer renowned for owning one of Italy’s leading fashion houses. He has graced every magazine, tabloid and newspaper known to man and has, by far, been ogled by almost half of the country’s misses and envied by guys whom he doesn’t even know (or in most cases, never bothered to know) all his life. In the eyes of society, Matthew is living the good life and thus, was found very privileged. But those people only see what they want to see. They don’t look beyond what is there. All they see is the glitz and the glamour, not the complicated, superficial side of it. Either that or they’re too blinded by the brilliance of everything, so utterly worldly that they forget that these people who are the subject of their endless envy lead a much more complex life than they do. And such was the case. Love is nonexistent in Matthew’s world and those people who spoke of eternity and love are nothing but fools who just take the entire matter as a joke. Yes, he seems so belligerent and bitter. But hey, who can blame him? He grew up in a world wherein infidelity is taken lightly and extramarital affairs are common occurrences. Honesty is just a mere word without any sense or meaning behind it. In fact, Matthew is the outcome when a shameless man meets a greedy, power hungry woman. His father was delighted that he produced a son, even to a point that he readily neglected his original family. On the other hand, Matthew’s mother was feeling too blissful by the fact that she was able to seduce a billionaire that she forgot that she just destroyed someone’s family and happiness. Of course, the paparazzi got a hold of that story and cascaded the news. But because his father was a dominant figure in the society, the rumor died down after a month or so. The people were too afraid to bump against someone so prominent that they never said a word about the whole matter. Years later, as Matthew grew up, his so-called ‘parents’ catered what they thought their son needed --- an army of butlers and maids at his disposal, a mansion that is big enough to provide shelter for an entire village, a hundred million's worth of cars and gadgets that are yet to be sold in the markets, and a pocket filled with cash. But as a youngling, he didn’t want any of those. They were worldly things, easily bought and replaced. He needed much more than that, but he never had the courage to voice it out. He was very much frantic to please his parents, even though he knew they saw him as a valuable asset rather than their child. As a child, he just wanted their genuine affection, a reassurance of their love, but not even once, did he receive a hug or a loving pat on the head. Then by the age of 12, his mother began the “The Training from Hell”. Everyday, he was groomed to be worthy of becoming the heir of his father’s empire. He was taught different languages, how to play the piano and the violin; do hard calculations and exemplary table manners. All for the sake of competing against her. Matthew was his mother's key to power, influence and money, so the more he was acknowledged by his father and the elite society, the more she paid attention to him. Few years ago, he would have jumped for joy, but now he was wise enough to disregard his mother's 'affections'. He admitted that, at first, he was doing it for his mother, but as time progressed, he found out that he was doing it for his own amusement. He was bored to death and he thought that perhaps, the competition would bring spice to his monotonous life. In fact, it did. But not for long... A revelation, a secret best kept hidden in a closet punched him in the guts. And suddenly, the competition's glitters and promises faded and all was left was his sense of guilt and a chain which suffocated him. He wanted to divulge the secret, but he was too scared. So, he just doubled his efforts and pushed himself to go beyond his limits, trying to forget the weight behind in his heart that he carried. And then that thing happened. As he was seated on a bench, gazing at the blue, summer sky, a guy patted him and gave him a simple, smile that came from the heart. They chatted for hours until they laughed their butts off. They hit it off instantly. He was a breath of fresh air to his rusty, filthy life. He never smiled when he didn’t want to. He didn’t say things that he didn’t mean. For that, he admired him. He was the dose of reality he was craving. Every encounter with his friend made him realize how twisted he had become. He was sucked in, trapped by the pomposity and the grandeur of the life he was living that he eventually became the same type of person he hated the most. He can't help but be disgusted of the man staring back at him. The mirror reflected the truth and yes, he was not happy with what he was seeing at all. After that realization, he turned away and quit the whole competition, leaving his parents’ mouth hanging open. Matthew knew what he wanted and if he stayed in his parents’ grasp, he’ll never get it. He wanted to preserve his humanity and all the feelings and the things that made him human. Even just an ounce of it. ...but he knew, somewhere deep within, that he will not be able to unless he lets the secret out. NothingxxtoxxCHANGExxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx➷`♕ PERSONALITY ➠ ♛『 Fearless ■ ■ xx He says what he wants to say and do things that are commonly perceived as 'insanely dangerous' without caring what people would perceive of him. He's gutsy almost to a flaw. ♛『 Easily bored ■ ■ xx He has this certain tendency to be bored out of his wits, especially by a person. Most of the time, if a thing or a person doesn't captivate his full attention or intrigue or amuse him, then it's a guarantee that its/her days with him are marked. This is perhaps, the most evident reason why he is known as a playboy, leaving women at the drop of a hat the moment he's bored of her already. It seems like every relationship he has with a girl has an expiration date. ♛『 Evasive ■ ■ xx It’s hard to extract the entire truth from Matthew, especially if it concerns his personal life. He tends to elude questions and starts to try dictating the pace of the entire conversation. After the talk, the person usually forgets why he/she was there in the first place. ♛『 Perfectionist ■ ■ xx Matthew had been trained to do everything to its utter perfection. He does not permit any mistake to be committed, even in the slightest. ♛『 Wary ■ ■ xxMatthew had experienced betrayals and deceptions countless times that he often finds it hard to trust someone, so he's very cautious when dealing with people who he deems to be untrustworthy. ♛『 Loyal (to those he trust) ■ ■ xx His loyalty is hardly won, but if someone rightfully deserved it, Matthew doesn't hesitate to give his undying loyalty to whomever earned it. He will also trust that person completely. myxx*xxSOULxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx ➷`❀ LIKES ➠ xxxxx ♡ xxWrist watches. Matthew has been collecting watches ever since his father gave him his first one --- a watch called "Meteoris". xxxxx ♡ xxAnything white. He's so addicted to the color that he even filled half of his wardrobe with white garments, from of pants to shoes. It's a mystery why up to this day, he hasn't dared don an all-white ensemble. xxxxx ♡ xxPeppermint flavored chocolates (or chocolate mints). He can't live without eating a bar or a piece of chocolate mint. That's why he makes sure to keep boxes of it in his car, just in case he needs to satisfy his cravings. xxxxx ♡ xx Him. He is the perfect model of the kind of brother Matthew wanted if ever he had a brother. ➷`❀ DISLIKES ➠ xxxxx ☹ xxCoffee. He finds it really disturbing that two mere cups of coffee is enough to make him feel sleepy and giddy. xxxxx ☹ xx Neon colors. Matthew said once but in a form of a joke : "Seriously, I am going to sue them if I develop some kind of eye disease because of those wretched neon colors!" xxxxx ☹ xx People feigning innocence. "It's better to show your true colors, no matter how dark they are. Because you know what? I like that better than you pretending you're from some distant rainbow lala land when, in fact, you're one of the devil's minions." xxxxx ☹ xx Braggarts. He was raised in an environment wherein people often boasted how much money they made that Matthew could have sworn his ears were already flapping to close itself. If someone haughty shows off his money in front of him again, Matthew is surely going to glare at him until he runs off or dies. ➷`❀ QUIRKS ➠ xxxxx ★ xxMatthew uses his right hand for writing, but does everything left-handed xxxxx ★ xxHe counts sheep if he cannot sleep. xxxxx ★ xxHe paints to vent out his anger (and of course, if he's inspired). xxxxx ★ xxMatthew loves to cook and is unable to eat something that does not meet his standards. The bad and probably the worst side of this quirk of his is that whenever he doesn't feel like cooking, he'd rather let himself starve rather than eat a dish he branded as 'atrocious'. xxxxx ★ xxHe is genially embarrassed when people ask him to sing and often blushes or gets furious. He was not born to be a singer. The world would definitely thank him for sparing them the trouble of hearing his singing voice. Moreover, the greatest stage where he could sing his heart out (with an audience named Matthew) is without much doubt, the shower. Period. PickxxyourxxFAMILYxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx ♀ Heidi Grayson ➠ xI see her more as a fashion icon rather than a mother, really. During my childhood days when I saw the world through a rose-colored glass, everything was wonderful. The maids loved me. Mom loved me. Heck, even father's wife loved me. Or that was what it was in my foolish head. I soon realized the truth. And it hurt. An awful lot. From then on, I saw my mother for what she was ---- a conniving woman without any spare time or affections for her poor little kid. She offered me love, but it had a price. Falling from such a high place only to find out that there was no one to catch you was really bad for one's heart and I wouldn't risk jumping off again or even climbing that mountain of hopes and dreams. Sometimes, I really wished people around me didn't give me false hopes nor made me believe that I could get everything I want as long as I stay obedient and subservient. Oh, before I forget, if you were to ask me if I respect and admire her, please choose a moment when I'm not drinking tea. Accidents happen, don't they? ♂ Father's name ➠ x We're very close and in his eyes, I've always been the perfect son. Even if I did something so diabolical, I was still an angel his eyes. Because I am his son and he is my father. He badly wanted a son and he got one through me. Each fleeting moment that I've been with him, I treasure it. To save it so I can remember it later, when I no longer deserve to be called his son. ♘ Priscilla Sun Yoon ➠ xI think we get along fine. I don't have anything against her. In fact, I loved competing against her. It was...thrilling. Very exciting, indeed. Besides, how can I hate someone who is at a great disadvantage because of our father's outright partiality to me? At times, I pity her because she had every right to inherit father's wealth and position and yet, she had to battle against me, the son of her father's mistress just because I was born a male and she was a she. I can't help but think that life is cruel and twisted. ChoosexxyourxxFRIENDSxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx `•.¸¸.☆ ➠ If I were trapped in a grave situation, he'd be the first one I would call, except if that certain event includes fire. I know he's a good guy and he can be quite heroic at times, but it's very unlikely that he'd suddenly start saving the world and tell me that he's Superman's missing son. If he ever had one. I love this guy, but I never tell him that because we find it so cheesy. I trust him with all my heart and I hope that he trusts me with all his being, too. I can reveal a side of me that no one else had seen but him. Oh, and to tell you the truth, it's easy for us to act like two goofballs whenever we're in the presence of each other. `•.¸¸.☆ ➠ Nathaniel Tristan Worchester People say that I was given the honor to be his highness' apprentice which is very much untrue. Certainly because I clearly doubt the 'honor' part. We break hearts and we play with women. Where's the honor in that? And besides, I hate it when he appears out of the blue and drags me to almost all the clubs in town or places which I know nothing of and he expects me to 'learn' or 'extract' something from that experience. If he expected me to enjoy it, I unfortunately did, but of course, I'll have to let him guess if I did or not. Now, that's something worth the trouble. `•.¸¸.☆ ➠ The Royalties I must say that they are quite an agreeable bunch. They are perfectly well-mannered and sophisticated. And for some, a bit intimidating. Fortunately, I was born with a fearless nature, that is why I can speak up to them or go against some of their opinions if I have this sudden urge to do so. To tell you the truth, I don't particularly hate them. I don't want to join them either. I just don't want to be tied to any group because it's easier to be a free spirit with no one to condemn you if you break the status quo. Though I must admit that it would be a fun experience. But for now, I think it's better to be in the middle. I was given the privilege to see both sides. Observing them from a relatively good distance with a glass of champagne in hand as they toss their aces into the table and roll up their sleeves for some devious, albeit interesting schemes seems like a perfect day for me. `•.¸¸.☆ ➠ The Outsiders They are talented and note-worthy people with quirks and attributes which I find amusing. I don't mind socializing with them, especially since I know that some are his close friends. I know he's a good judge of character, so I expect that his friends would probably be different from the deceptive, two-faced people I know. Hopefully. Matthew tried not to steer his vision away from the serene view outside. White fluffy clouds adorned the clear blue sky. The branches of the trees were dancing to the wind’s tune. Most of the time, it would have taken just a simple peek at the sight and his mood would grow agreeable. However, the relatively fine weather did nothing to improve his already rotten mood. Here we go again, Matthew thought. He toyed with the glass of wine which was cradled in his palm. His expression was grim and getting grimmer as the seconds ticked by. “Matthew. Do try to look at me when I talk to you,” his mother said. He breathed a sigh before staring at her mother. Her lips were painted a shiny red, her eyes as cold as ever…which did not surprise him at all. All his life, he knew that his mother never showed compassion and was also a perfect model for a no-nonsense type of woman. If truth be told, the only thing that he found amusing every time was how her mother seemed to change her hairstyle every so often. The last time she saw her, she was sporting her golden tresses in a pixie cut, a direct contrary to her newly curled hair. A wolfish grin tugged the corners of his mouth. Either he did that or let his suppressed laughter out. He opted to do the former, letting his good common sense rule over his playful side for the moment. He would have gladly laughed his heart out, seeing his mother’s hair that looked like dangling strawberries, but he knew better. Doing that would prolong everything and if he were that unlucky, a piece of nagging would be added into the entire thing. Oh, how he hated it. Mattew placed the glass on the table and tapped a finger on his lower lip. God knew how he wanted to escape this place which reeked of his bitter childhood past. “And please, I beg you, get your hair cut.” Her expression was far from pleading. As a matter of fact, her words sounded like orders to him. “Mother, please cut to the chase. You didn't call me to fly to Italy just to tell me that I badly need a haircut, did you?” He crossed his legs, his eyes already brimming with boredom. “Your father said that you would handle a branch here,” his mother said. Just a look in her eyes would be enough to detect that certain temper she was holding back. He was already wearing his mother’s patience to its limit and he didn’t care even the least bit. “Oh, is that all?” He tried his best to keep his cool. How could her mother do that? Grabbing every opportunity of seizing everything, even those that she knew she had no right to own or get. “Yes.” “If that’s all, then you should have informed me through the phone. You could have saved me from the trouble of traveling to Italy just to hear that one announcement.” Every word was said through gritted teeth. He was mad, no. It was not the right description. He was beyond mad. He was furious and sick of all the games she wanted to play just for her to get to the top of the fashion world. She was already unbelievably rich and at the pinnacle of her career and yet, she still desired to reach the heavens. Greedy. “I wanted to say it to you directly. I just know how ecstatic you would be!” His mother flashed him a smile lacking sincerity. For all he knew, she just wanted another plus point from his father. Of course it would be in the form of something that costs more than a hundred thousand. Just a month ago, he already told his father that he wanted to quit the whole ‘heir’ game, but it seemed to him that his father did not accept his 'resignation'. He was not yet done of convincing Matthew to return to the game. From the very start, his father did not bother to hide his partiality towards him. He wanted a son and he got one through Matthew. Ah, if only his father knew. “If that would be all, then I’ll be going back.” Matthew slowly rose from his seat and gave her mother a peck on the cheek. “Goodbye, mother. Until next time.” If there would be a next time… He raked his fingers through his hair and walked as fast as he could. The moment he stepped out of the mansion, he cast another glance at it before heading to his car. He shut his eyes off, trying to fight off all the surging emotions that the house ignited in him. It was the only house he knew which he could not manage to consider as his home. How can he? The mansion was the epitome of a dungeon for him. Once, he was held as a prisoner there. He had no intent on going back. Ever. Edited by Matthew.Grayson, Mar 30 2011, 12:49 PM.
