Hey Everyone, I am going to do something I have never-ever done before. I am going to be running a superhero table top game. (YIKES!) As far as the game itself, I am going for something 'golden age' esk...I.E. a world where there are a lot of superheroes and villains with varying reasons how they got their powers, battling over the fate of the world, etc. etc. The setting is a custom setting - sort of. The game will occur in a fictional city...think Liberty City via Grand Theft Auto 4. The basic idea is you will play a character who wishes to join with other superhero groups to fight the bad guys. Pretty simple and yet it is a formula that has worked. The game system we will be using will be Savage Worlds - http://www.peginc.com/ It is my favorite game system ever. Unlike all the other games I run (D&D 3.5, Mage The Ascension, Exalted), Savage Worlds is a rule set that works, makes sense, and it is fun for the whole family. It combines the best elements of pure 'role play' and miniature styled combat - and it is very quick. In my gaming circle, 10 rounds of combat in D&D or exalted lasts an hour...but we can go through 10 rounds of combat in 10 minutes with Savage Worlds. It is fast paced, exciting, and meant to be used with action packed games - but works well for games of intrigue. So if anyone is interested..HIT ME UP! We will run the game bi-weekly Thursday nights at my house. |
