King Jason had the phone on speaker and waiting as the phone rang. "Good Evening Your Royal Highness this is His Royal and Imperial Majesty King Jason of San Lumen.'' There was an awkward silence for a moment. "Good evening Your Royal and Imperial Majesty. What do I owe the pleasure of your call?" The Grand Duke asked in surprised tone. This was the first time he was hearing King Jason's voice and was surprised by how young King Jason's voice sounded. "First Your Royal Highness I would like to apologize for the Kingdom's slow response to the crisis in Ukraine. We did not realize the magnitude of the situation until clashes broke out near our border with Ukraine. That aside Northeastern Ukraine and Kviv have seen heavy military buildup. I worry that this war could spread and lead to a regional war something I want to prevent. The Kingdom is prepared to offer Naval assistance as well as support from the Royal Air Force in Northeastern Ukraine. It is our hope that this war has minimal causalties and minimal damage to infrastructure.'' King Jason said and awaited the Grand Duke's response. Edited by San Lumen, Jun 26 2011, 08:19 PM.

Day 1 Baru Hurezumsa - Grand Ducal Palace "Indeed indeed, the spread of this conflict is the last thing I desire, and finish it as quick and with the less casualties and damage to infrastructure is my greatest desire" begun answering the Grand Duke while getting used to the youth of his counterpart. "I accept your assistance, off course, but for now I advise you to strengthen your borders, since the strike when given must be a decisive one." The Grand Duke said, and waited for King Jason's response. Ukranian Front Most of the small to medium cities near the river were under the control of the Veomian Troops. Little resistance was given. Recon reports the advancement of Ukranian troops near Odessa and Mykolayiv. (OOC: If anyone wishes to make some news report or anything about the situation from the Ukrainian point of view, or from inside ukraine it would be great! - I believe I'm somewhat biased to do so and it wold be richer if someone else does the "Ukraine part".) |

"You and I therefore desire the same thing Your Royal Highness. We will definitly be strengthening our borders. In fact we have already begun the process. Our military bases near the border have been placed on high alert and I have informed the naval fleets in Darius and Bari to be on stand by. The process of securing our border is ongoing. Your Royal Highness if I may so the Kingdom has no desire to occupy Ukraine. The imperialistic days of the Hapsburg Monarchy are behind us. That being said we will lend whatever assistance we can to your efforts in Ukraine.'' King Jason responded. The Grand Duke was quite impressed with his counterpart despite him being only 24.

"I'm glad to hear Your Royal and Imperial Majesty, that you have already taken the necessary measures, I shall keep you updated on the situation, and hope we can meet personally very soon. Now I must apologize but I have a meeting I must attend. It was a pleasure to hear from you Your Majesty, and please there's no need for such formality, you may call me simply Kahv. Farewell." Responded jovially the Grand Duke, still impressed on his counterpart, he believed he was on his early twenties, "a very mature kid indeed" he thought while hanging up the phone. |

"A very reasonable, respectful and charismatic leader'' King Jason thought as he hung up the phone. "All right everyone I would like us to continue the current steps to secure our border with Ukriane. Keep the Royal Air Force on alert.'' The said to everyone in the room. "I want a statement to the media for the press briefing tonight clarifying that are actions are merely a defensive operation and lending assistance to the Grand Duchy. We have no plans whatsoever to invade Ukraine.'' King Jason said to his Chief of Staff. "It will be done Your Majesty.'' The King's Chief of Staff Oliva Lucca said as she left the room. The King subsequently told the other officials present to continue monitoring the situation while preparing for any assistance that might be required. "If there are any further updates from the Grand Duke or the Veomose Foreign Ministry I will keep you informed.'' King Jason said to everyone as they adjourned. Day 2 Baru Hurezumsa At dawn an helicopter left the grounds of the Grand Ducal Palace. It's destiny the HHS Catarina. In it the Grand Duke Kahv Eirm was somewhat anxious. The flight was short, only a few miles from the shores, the HHS Catarina sailed majestically. The HHS Catarina The HHS Catarina was the newest acquisition of the Grand Duchy, a latest model of Amphibious Assault Ship (OOC: Reference). As the Brodc One landed on the deck, the captain came to receive the Grand Duke. "Your Highness, it's everything ready, as you ordered" "Very well Captain, I'll be in my quarters, inform me when our guests are about to arrive, I shall receive them personally." "Yes Your Highness!" HRH Lemik Eirm International Airport At the international airport of the Veomese capital, everything was ready to receive the Imperial Air Corps One, a special VTOL airplane (similar to the V-22 Osprey) was ready to take the guests of the Grand Duke to the HHS Catarina. Brigadier Celsus Vaughn of the Grand Ducal Air Force was their link officer. |

President Szél sat with Ministers Neudorffer and Kemal and PM Kemal-Bach at a large table within Cusum. The room had its windows overlooking the Danube, cutting way through the centuries-old metre-thick walls. The whole of the Government was at a loss as to what to do about Ukraine and Veomo. One of the neighbours of the United Republic is being overran by another. For Neoplanta, this was so harsh an event that everyone rather just turned a blind eye to it. An awkward silence always commenced when the Cabinet tried to address the issue. "I believe we did the best we could by not doing anything. Anything we might have done would have been interpreted as us taking sides in the new political game that is apparently taking place." - said Szél. "Yes, it looks like democracies versus autocrats this time round" - said Neudorffer. He had seen this many times, the forming of alliances; basically, the search for a common enemy, in his opinion. "In any case, we have the Ukrainian border sealed. If anything happens, we are quite ready to defend our territory from anyone entering it." - said Minister Kemal. With that, the awkward silence returned, until Szél chose to speak again: "So, what of that small dams project in Montenegro?" OOC: I'll be filling in for Ukraine, if nobody minds. IC: "The bloody imperialist dogs are actually doing it! They are actually invading us!!!" - the young soldier swore as he took a drink of vodka from the bottle they were sharing with the men at the barracks. This was a good indicator of the state of things in the post-Soviet country. The government never actually changed, only the titles. Igor Goykov, the President, was an autocratic absolute ruler of Ukraine for 24 years now. However, he liked to keep up the façade of democracy, so there were regular elections, with plenty of parties to choose from. Just that all of those parties were his puppets. He also didn't stop from using any means he needed to stay in power. This meant a constant flood of nationalist, anti-Western, anti-Islamic, and irredentist propaganda in the state-owned media and the many-many private media as well that belonged to some businessman in Goykov's pocket. But he failed to count in one thing, or else he surely would have stayed President for life. He did not expect for the great enemy that he had projected for the masses, the "foul imperialist scum, monarchist lackeys, slaves to the Corporation" etc. etc.; that Veomo would actually take a military move. Now, he is left with nothing to do, but wait for the inevitable. But at such times the human psyche goes against reason, and Goykov is now filling the media with 'him immanent victory'. But actually his troops are amassing in and around Kiev, prepared to stand till the last man. This will be ugly. |

As they had entered the room the general started to speak immediately 'Gentlemen, I am very pleased to meet you and would like to thank you for the warm welcome. I am Jan Pieterszoon Coen, the general in command of the Royal Dutch Army. This woman here is my secretary Julia, it is her first time abroad so please don't be too harsh on her.' Everyone laughed, except for Julia, who did turn very red. The general continued 'I am here to discuss us opening our border for your troops, an offer which still stands ofcourse. We finished the camp on the Ukranian border near Kiev yesterday, and the supply lines are up and running since this morning. This means, we are ready to have you.' Now Jan Peterszoon Coen stopped talking as he waited for a response from General Krystof Ivankov... |

Day 3 Odessa Bay After two days of constant confrontation with the Ukrainian Navy, the victory was clear. A flyby of one of the 314's, of the Grand Ducal Naval Aviation, Svaor Carrier Air Wing, witnessed the mercy shot at the Ukrainian Navy, as a blast on the hull of their flagship indicated a direct hit. A second flyby wasn't necessary as the ship begun to sink almost immediately. Later that afternoon, a small boat carrying a white flag would arrive at the 1st Naval Squadron Flagship, the HHS Asraairth the first of the new Asraairth Class Destroyers of the Grand Ducal Navy. As the captains of the remaining Ukrainian ships surrender their vessels to Vice-Admiral Berkh a message is sent to the HHS Catarina to inform HRH the Grand Duke. on board of the HHS Catarina On board of the HHS Catarina the Grand Duke of Veomo, HRH Kahv Eirm, was holding a meeting with his counterparts of Darjistan and Monaco-Ville-Nice, when the message arrived. Quick orders where given... Akiod - General Command of the North Headquarters Meanwhile in the General Command of the North Headquarters, Marshal Markum Iubek remembered his first meeting with General Jan Pieterszoon Coen two days before, the most important point of the agenda, the permission of entrance of the Veomian troops into SUP's territory, as a shortcut to Kiev, was solved almost immediately, now after a day spent in conclave with the commanders of each brigade, they could evaluate the best way to do so. "Sir, we're ready to begin"- informed him one of the secretaries in charge of taking notes of the meeting for the records. "Very well. Thank you" Said the Marshal taking a last look through the window in the hallway and returning to the conference room. "General Jan, as I told you the day before, we are deeply grateful with your government gesture, and we sure shall not forget it. It will allow us to reduce the casualties and overthrown the Ukrainian regime more easily. Now we have a titans task in front of us, the transportation of the troops and equipment through your territory as fast as possible and with the less impact on your daily life as possible." He made a pause "Here at the 1st Army Division, we have four brigades, one motorized, two of infantry and the fourth is a mixed one. Everything we'll be moving is in that file" As Marshal Markum spoke a brown paper folio with the seal of Veomo stamped on it was handed over to General Jan."I am eager to hear your proposal on this matter" |

Jan Pieterszoon Coen took the folio, opened it and begon to scan through the papers. He quickly closed it again and put it back on the table. He said 'with all do respect it is not a lack of interest that I don't read everything immediately. We don't have enough time to hesitate any longer for it is in our mutual interest that Kiev falls as soon as possible. Therefore we accept it if our daily life gets a bit disorganized in the proces while supporting you. I discussed matters with the stadhouder himself and he decided to give you full acces to our territory.' He turned around to see if Julia was listening. 'Julia, can you tell the Marshal our proposal please'. Julia looked shocked that she was asked to speak in front of all these important men whom knew so much more about the military than she did. As she started speaking her voice was a bit trembling 'Euhm... well.. ok... In the car overhere I and the general..... sorry the general and I... we discussed the matter...' As she saw that everyone payed close attention she forgot her fear and got the hang of it. - First; 'We think that you know best in what composition you want you troops to travel, we leave that completely up to you and won't interfere with it. However, we want to know the number of groups and the sizes of them so that we can send people in to guide you to the Ukranian border properly.' - Second; 'We propose that your troops follow the highway that leads from Akion to Gorinchem for approximately 250 kilometers. From there your troops can follow a smaller road that leads to Kiev. It is important to keep in mind that this road is in a very bad state.' - Third; 'Your troops can stay at the camp near the border which we will provide with a constant stream of supplies.' - Fourth; 'You do not need to notify us if you want to send supplies from Arkoid or Odako to the camp. Please send them in with explaining papers might any Dutch official ask for identification.' - Fifth; 'Your troops can move freely in the proximity of the camp. However, if you want to use another part of our territory we want a official request. Not because of a lack of trust, but because we can only help you if we know what is going on.' 'That is all' said Julia relieved. 'Great!' replied Jan Pieterszoon Coen. 'Marshal what do you of my secretary, isn't she good? If you can find yourself in our proposal we can be on our way within an hour if it is up to me.' He turned around and winked Julia. The general looked as if he suddenly remembered something very important. 'I almost forgot to ask you, but the stadhouder wants to know if the Grand Duchy government will send a delegate to the meeting at Kasteel de Haar?' |
