With the start of the 2nd Chicanan Open, football fanatics across the Ixzaran Republic began boarding planes in droves towards North Chicanan. Within 1 hour of Hearing the opening of the tournament and the first match for the national team, 32 Flights had sold out. Flight volume is so high, that smaller, local airports have begun to be utilized for international flights, when such things in the past were unheard of. Reporters at airports across the country interviewed random people to get their input on the upcoming games.

"TEAM WHITE AND BLUE!!! ANDE A REPUBBLICA IXZARANA"

"WE WON"T BE DEFEATED TWICE!!!"

"*waving flag* WE WILL DOMINATE!!!!!"

Cheers at some airports grew into a flight party as at some point it began hard to distinguish the crowds at airports from night clubs. But because of the high demand to fly at the moment, some ferries are being rerouted to other countries where they are being given chartered rides to the nearest airports. Some of the destination countries include San Lumen, Monaco-Ville-Nice and Veomo. Demand for flights are so high, that AeroIxzaran reported $256 million worth of flights being sold at an hourly rate, such numbers have caused the company to make the largest profit-making corporation in the country!!!

However, as many fans put it, this is just the beginning. Ixzarans are known to party, and many state that it will be party all night long in North Chicanan!!!

As expected the Norther National team (nicknamed the Hoops) will compete in the second Chicanan open, rather than the Olympic Team. although the Olympic side plans on competing in the upcomming NS Olympics. Aren't we smart.

North Chicanan Roster:

Assistants: Jason Swizer (38, reserve coach for Astur City), Aiden Kipplin (40, former coach of Pietrsberg)
Modifier: +2

GK: Yankee DeMit (Pietrsberg)
DF: Marc James (Sussex County)
DF: Denny Ullong (Borussia Victoria)
DF: Aiden James (Sparta Hobarton)
MF: Asher Smith (Grays)
MD: Daniel Haussen (Orange)
MF: Xavi Aox (Copenhagen)
MF: Presten Villani (Red Star Kinsington)
MF: Finn Johnsten (Bishop FC)
FW: Paul Owen (Astur City)
FW: James Pratt (Sussex County)

Formation is 3-5-2

Bench list:
GK: Aric Longstreet (Star Point)
DF: Giovanni Patti (Cardinal)
DF: Samuel Aesen (Borussia Kalimund)
MD: Taggert Page (Sparta Hobarton)
MD: Xavier Fjail (Douala)
FW: James Oliver (Sussex County)

The team, which is coming off a Sweet 16 finish at the NS Cup of Nations, the nation's best finish in international competition in the combined histories of North Chicanan and the previous Chicanada side, hopes to do a bit better than the third place finish the team experience for the first time.

In other news, the NCFA hopes to meet with other football federations throughout the tournament in order to launch the Open as the official regional championships - with a rechristening of the Open as the Baradoz Championships in the third cup. The FA, hoping to use the large crowds from around the region, also will push for the creation of a club championships between the national organizations. Finally, if the crowds work as well as we hope, the FA will work with the Northern Olympic Committee to launch other regional tourneys for sports like cricket, American Football and hockey. The NCOC has desired to bid for the Olympics at some point, and could use the developments to create a regional games on a team level.

OOC: LOL I wanted to do the whole Brazil Football one word name thing. I chose Greek, Egyptian, and Persian names since they all had really awesome names. Glad you like ; )

IC: News Report from the Imperial News Network: Head Coach Fabian Arestes led the Imperial national team off there chartered 747 in Neuchantel North Chicanan. The team was greeted by Imperial fans who arrived in North Chicanan early for the tournament. Imperial players posed for pictures, signed autographs, and chatted with fans and media gathered in the terminal. Team Captain and starting midfielder Craterus and star player and starting midfielder Ramses gave interviews to the many gathered Imperial media. Also a number of high ranking members of the Monégasque Football Federation and other Imperial sports leaders have made the trip for talks about increasing regional sports. The team then boarded a bus and headed to there practice field at a local high school in Neuchantel. There Fabian Arestes gave a brief interview with media from around the region about the Imperials and his thoughts on how they would fair in the tournament and there first match against the SUP.

Fabian Arestes:We have as good of a chance as anyone in this tournament. It's important we don't play up to the hype though and get ahead of ourselves before we step on the pitch. We're defending champions but that also means we have more to lose than national pride. That being said I feel great about this group of men and feel confident that if we play our game and avoid mental mistakes we have the skill to carry us.

Reporter 1: With tensions high between the Empire and the SUP many are saying this game has a bigger impact than just football any comments?

Fabian Arestes: We don't get involved in politics. We're here to play a game and win a game, we leave politics to the politicians. That being said we certainly expect both our supporters and the SUP's supporters to be very vocal during the game. Certainly all of my guys and myself want to send those supporters home happy so we're going to do whatever we can to get 3 points. It's all about points right now and we need to make sure we get our 3 and take care of business. Outside distractions from the political arena can't enter into the sports arena.

ooc: As apparently the Ixzaran Republic is no longer with us, we are going to remove them from the competition. If someone is interested in still joining, we'd be more than thrilled to pretend you were here the whole time. Otherwise, Group A will be altered to be a three-team group and the ranking matches will be alterd to adjust to 7 teams.

Den Hollandsche Nieuwe
~ Edition Thursday, July 21, 2011

North Chicanan Open

Neuchantel, North Chicanan - As Orange arrived yesterday in Neuchantel the streets are turning orange and the nation is shaking on its base. Approximately 100.000 supporter traveled to North Chicanan to cheer for their team. More than 500 orange colored planes arrived at North Chicanan during the last week and it feels like more people speak Dutch than English. As always the party begins to spread to other nations as well and everywhere a mixture of colors can be seen caused by a melting pot national supporter partying brotherly side by side.

We asked Peter Pewtercup, the proprietor of a pub in Neuchantel what he thinks about this roaring orange crowd. 'Well I was a bit anxious at first, we know what football supporters can do. But it has been one big party since the day they came. Plus we are doing excellent business!' Here the interview was interrupted by a orange dressed girl who spontaneously hugged Peter and gave him a kiss on the cheek, followed by her dancing our of the pub again. Peter continued with a smile 'You see, the atmosphere is excellent!'

Finally we spoke with the head of police in Neuchantel, he ensured us everything was under control. 'We increased the size of the police force because of the massive amount of Dutch supporter. However apart from some supporters trying to dance with a few of our police officers nothing has happened.'

The press conference with the coach of Orange, Bert van Brabant, had shown some important insights on the match of tonight. 'People have been speaking about extra tensions for the match because of political difficulties between the Seven United Provinces and Monaco-Ville-Nice. But that is not our region of interest, our interest is the sports and ofcourse the party that is part of it. We have seen many SUP supporters partying with MVN supporters as if nothing has ever happened. That is a thing we can only encourage and use as an example for the game this evening. We wish the national team of MVN good luck with tonights match, that it may be the best one we have ever played against eachother!'
