"WHOA! That was a nice big explosion!" The XO commented as they watched a massive explosion rocked Jerusalem. While the Grangale forces had yet to land any troops they had been flying aircraft over the major cities to observe the situation. "Looks like... maybe a gas main or something went up." Revil commented. Islamic and Jewish militias as well as random political extremist and anarchist groups had turned the entire country into a battle royal worse than Ixzaran. When the smoke cleared, what had once been a upscale residential area was now just a massive crater with a large fire spreading. Without emergency services that fire was going to spread. "Send a dispatch to MVN..." Revil ordered ------ TO: Defense Minister Ptah FROM: Admiral Revil, Commander of the Mediterranean Task Force of the Grangale Imperial Navy SUBJECT: NATIONALIST ZION We are aware that you have a large number of your citizens trapped in Nationalist Zion. Currently our fleets are holding position near Beirut. We have sufficient forces to seize the port and evacuate your citizens onto our ships if you so desire. |

Somewhere on the western former Ixzaran Territory. Admiral Uzun was furious of having to flee on the advance of the Grand Ducal troops. And now with his fleet decimated he was practically landlocked. "God damn those bastards of veomo!!" "Whoa whoa calm down! Admiral you get an aneurysm if you get this furious over a small setback.. besides don't worry about the Grand Duchy, soon it will all come to an end and the Grand Duchy will be under our control also." "Very well my friend. I hope you are right. For your own sake!" Said a purple faced Admiral leaving the bunker. The two Grand Ducal Guard Officer waiting at the door disguised on Uzun's troops uniforms, escorted the Admiral to the exit, before getting back inside. "M'lord, what are your orders." "Keep an eye on our friend Admiral. His temper might give us some trouble" said the old man lighting up a cigar. "The old king is dying and as soon as it happens we'll give our blow. Get everything ready. Now leave, I must make a call." As the heavy door of the bunker room closed, the old man picked up the phone. ---- A small apartment somewhere in St. John - North Chicanan A cellphone rings in the room. A well built man comes in from the bathroom with only a towel around his waist. The caller id showed nothing, but there was only another men that knew that number, and he was waiting for that call. "Good evening M'lord." "Good evening ****."(his name will be a secret for now)"Have you received the package?" "Yes M'lord, a fine piece indeed." said the hitman taking a look at a modified Ukrainian sniper rifle. "Good, remember I want a perfect work. I hope I can count on your proficiency." "Absolutely M'lord. You give the order and the Dukes falls" "Perfect!" Said the old man on the other side of the line putting the phone down, a timer marked 25 seconds. Despite the great apparatus for making the call bounce all over the world and be virtually untraceable, the old man was from old school and knew that even if they braked the system, anyone looking would need at least 30 seconds to lock his position. |

Checkpoint 3, Eliat, Monaco-Ville-Nice: General Adofo was in his mobile command center overlooking checkpoint 3 "Hell of a day" he said to one of his staff members, a young sergeant named Haji. The sergeant agreed with the commander of the 37th Imperial Marine Division. The 37th had been guarding the border crossing in Sinai with the Imperial Border Police for the last day. They had constructed makeshift fences along the border and built sentry towers along the fence line. Imperial Marines and border police keeping watch with small arms, armored vehicles, tanks, and attack helicopters all along the way. General Adofo decided to make his command center at the Eliat checkpoint in the south of the Sinai. He had stepped out of his command center to chat with Imperial citizens flowing back across the border and get word on how things were going inside of Zion. The longer it got in the day the worse the news seemed to get. From what he could tell Jewish and Christian militia's had allied against the Islamic militia's and were having it out throughout the country. This was backed by Mukhabarat intelligence reports and E-3 Sentry's flying high above Zion. Imperial citizens fleeing the violence also were reported to be taking casualties in some areas where the violence was most intense. A phone rang in the mobile command center and Sergeant Haji answered and quickly gave the phone to General Adafo saying simply "It's for you General.". General Adafo picked up the phone and said "Hello?". On the other end of the phone was Defense Minister Ptah who said "General, what's the situation where you're at?". The General greeted the Defense Minister and then spoke " We have thousands of citizens lining up outside each checkpoint. It's obviously taking a long time to process them and get them through customs. We are expecting somewhere in the neighborhood of 300 to 400,000 of our citizens to make for our checkpoints in the Sinai. Currently we've processed 100,000 of our citizens through the 3 checkpoints. We estimate somewhere around 100,000 of our citizens are waiting outside the checkpoints. We also estimate about 500,000 other people who are not Imperial nationals outside our borders. From what we know from people crossing the border and from what we can see the Violence is approaching our border checkpoints and this will put not only these people in danger but our citizens. We even have seen wounded and heard of deaths in out citizenry.". Defense Minister Ptah sighed and then spoke " I'm sending the 22nd Imperial Army Division to assist your men. I've authorized the 36th and the 3rd fleets of the Imperial navy to enter off of Nationalist Zion and they will begin air strikes against hostile targets to our citizens while maintaining the blockade of Nationalist Zion. The 36th fleet will then land the 2nd division Imperial Marines in Haifa where they will extract our citizens in the Central region of the country. In Haifa the 2nd will make there headquarters and begin operations to pacify the central region of Nationalist Zion from Haifa in the north and west, south to Jenin, and to the Golan Heights in the east. In the north of the country we've contracted Executive Outcomes our primary contractor for mercenaries to land in Beirut and extract our citizens. They will be landed by the 3rd fleet and will be extracted once they have picked up all of our citizens who have gathered in Beirut.". The General then replied "Sounds like a good plan Minister Ptah. Surely we will have our citizens out and pacify the country in no time." the General then began to think "What of the south of the country?". Before the General could even finish his thought the Defense Minister spoke " I'm ordering you and your men in General Adofo. Your to advance north with tactical elements of the Imperial Border Police and you shall be backed by the Imperial Armies 22nd division. Your to advance north and sweep away any resistance you face while safe guarding our citizens. Your to push until you've taken control of Tel Aviv and in the east I'm giving the responsibility of the West Bank to the 22nd Division. These are you orders, carry them out soldier.". The General smiled, happy to see some action and said "Yes sir!". The Phone call ended with goodbyes and good lucks and then the General turned to Sergeant Haji and said "Give the orders to advance into Zion." Sergeant Haji then said "With pleasure!" and the orders were given. On the Zionist side of the fence thousands of Imperial citizens and Zionist citizens had gathered for safety. They brought car loads of belongs and simply waited and waited outside the border. Imperial citizens were brought to special holding areas by the Imperial Border Police for protection while the Zionist citizens were left outside the protected fences. Suddenly a loud speaker began blaring for the Zionist citizens to move away and the loud rumbling of tanks, APC's, and large trucks could be heard. The citizens moved away from the fences and saw the gates open and Imperial armor begin moving onto the other side of the fence and into the former Nationalist Zion. The game had changed. |

Admiral Revil read through the reply from MVN. "Well it looks like they have the evacuation taken care of. Though I want the Nibelheim's E-2s flying a survalance pattern for the naval blockade. Accompanying Rafales are to be loaded with anti-ship missiles, and nobody fires unless fired upon. That includes ships attempting to run the blockade, instead of attacking, alert the nearest ship, and it can be decided then to attack or to board the runner. |

(News report from the Imperial News Network.) Alexandria, Monaco-Ville-Nice: With the fall of Nationalist Zion the Empire has been left with few options but intervention in the neighboring country. Nationalist Zion has long been a friend of the Empire, though the two were no doubt unusual bed partners. Nationalist Zion being nearly totally surrounded by hostile Arab countries found a useful ally in the Ptolemies who nearly any scholar would say are about as different from Zionist philosophy as it gets. The Ptolemies supplied the Zionist government with small arms, heavy weapons, aircraft, and military supplies to arm them against there neighbors. Either by economic ties and joint military ventures or fear and intimidation the Ptolemies have kept Jerusalem as a close ally for years. So no doubt the collapse of the government in Jerusalem has sent shock waves across the Empire. These close ties between Alexandria and Jerusalem meant citizens of the Empire between both counties often traveled to, worked in, and did business in Nationalist Zion. This has led to a great deal, estimates upward of 500,000 Imperial citizens are currently trapped in Nationalist Zion. Due to this and the Empires willingness to make sure its borders remain passive has led to a massive Imperial operation to evacuate its citizens and end the religious and political violence. The Empires 36th fleet has landed the 2nd Imperial Marines in Haifa and they have begun evacuating Imperial citizens in the central region of Nationalist Zion. The 2nd has secured Haifa and are starting to expand there operations outward with the support of the 36th's carrier based aircraft. Jewish, Christian, and Islamic militia's have so far not engaged Imperial forces and have retreated from Imperial forces. Though it appears some of the militia's are hostile to Imperial involvement, while others are openly welcoming Imperial involvement and are in open negotiations with Imperial political leaders and military leaders on possible Imperial support. In the north of Nationalist Zion the 3rd Fleet of the Imperial Navy has deployed members of a private security company the Empire has long employed into Beirut to evacuate Imperial citizens in the north of Nationalist Zion. Private contractors operating with massive air support from the 3rd fleet have totally secured the port area of Beirut. Executive Operations the company the Empire has contracted employees are now busy extracting Imperial citizens that have gathered near the Beirut port area waiting for extraction and are being sent from Beirut to Cyprus. In the South of Nationalist Zion the 37th Imperial Marines and 22nd Imperial Army divisions are advancing past the border in Sinai. They have reached Gaza City and have secured most of the Gaza Strip. Advancing past fleeing Imperial and Zionist citizens the Imperial forces have met with little resistance as of yet. In the North Imperial forces have advanced into the southern city of Mitzpe Ramon and have pacified the populace. Imperial forces are continuing there advance and are believed to be in the process of pacifying the entire southern Zionist region of Israel. Updates will be broadcast as soon as they are received. For more information be sure to stay tuned to the Imperial News Network. |

---Off the northern coast of the former Ixzaran Republic--- The 4th Imperial and the 2nd Ducal fleets had formed a perimeter around Burakgazi's base, a naval base of the former Republic. Tornados and Rafales equipped for ground strikes had pounded the base for 15 minutes now. On the ground Imperial Army tanks had broken though the base's last defense perimeter. Commodore Burakgazi stood at the base's command center, fuming. Half an hour ago General Metran had left to "check on his troops" then not too long after reports came in that Metran's troops had left the field and he could not be reached. Needless to say he wasn't coming back. The loss of Kenneth Baker wasn't too severe a blow, but the destruction of his arms factory by the 4th Fleet's Harriers was. And now what was left of his navy was at the bottom of the Black Sea or on their way there. The game was over and Burakgazi knew it. "Captain, you're in charge..." The Commodore said to his XO as he left the command center. The Commodore walked though the base's halls, explosions and the sounds of fighting heard in the distance, and reached a door flanked by two guards, his office. He sat at the large chair at his desk and downed a glass of whiskey, before pulling a drawer at his desk. In the drawer was a Cz-75 pistol, a pistol that he carried since his days in officer training. A moment later the two guards out his office heard a gunshot. ---Aboard the GIS Venator--- "Commodore, we're receiving a transmission from the base, they're offering a surrender." One of the ship's bridge operators announced. "Tell them, that all who wish to surrender lay down their arms and gather at the air field." Ramius ordered. --- Several hours later --- "Again... that slippery bastard got away again..." Captain Hakha growled. After interviewing several of the surrendering troops, Hakha and Ramius learned that General Metran had bailed on his so-called partner and left the field in the middle of the fighting. From what the soldiers said, it looked like they headed south west, towards central Anatolia. "So what happens to all of these guys?" Ramius asked. "That's up to the Colonel, some of them might end up in his unit, others if they participated in any of the genocide will end up in prison." Hakha answered. "Either way though, that's one less warlord we need to worry about now." Ramius said, recalling the gory mess that had once been Burakgazi's head. The Cz-75 in his hand had been loaded with hollow points. "Yeah, well, Metran is going to be tougher to get at if he fled to some base in the mountains, even if he's lost more than half his forces." Hakha commented. |

(News report from the Imperial News Network.) Alexandria, Monaco-Ville-Nice: Imperial forces advanced from the Sinai, Gaza Strip, and Southern Nationalist Zion again today. Imperial Forces have reached the suburbs of both Tel Aviv and Jerusalem an Imperial spokesman said. The 37th Imperial Marines advancing to Tel Aviv, fresh off securing the Gaza Strip encountered heavy resistance in Ashkelon on the road to Tel Aviv. Jewish Militias in the city were fighting an incursion by an Islamic militia from the West Bank when Imperial forces arrived. As stated by Defense Minister Ptah " Militias operating outside of there ethnic neighborhoods will be viewed as hostile. Furthermore militias must stand down when Imperial forces arrive. The Empire backs any militia that is simply defending there neighborhoods and towns, but will not tolerate offensive action by any militia or faction.". Joining with the Jewish militias the 37th Imperial marines pushed the Islamic militia out of Ashkelon causing them substantial loss of life and equipment. Residents of Ashkelon were overjoyed at the coming of the Imperial marines. Once the fighting had ended the inhabitants of Ashkelon flooded the streets and sang and danced at the coming of the Marines. One resident said "There had been fighting here for several days. Our local militias were fighting to protect us from one of the militias from the West Bank. They (Islamic militia) came here right after the government fell and fired mortars and RPG's at us. I saw them carrying 3 bodies away the first hour of the attack.". It remains unclear if Imperial forces will be viewed as liberators and protectors everywhere. While the 37th Marines are securing the western part of Nationalist Zion which is mainly Jewish and government loyalists. Enjoying years of prosperity in the majority Jewish government they no doubt were shocked by the unraveling of order and the decent of chaos in the country. These people are largely welcoming the stability and security Imperial forces are bringing. The 22nd Imperial Army division operating in the West Bank has found the going more difficult through the mainly Islamic West Bank. Largely kept down by the Jews the Islamic militias have seen this as an opportunity to strike back at the Jews and further there cause. Jerusalem itself is a total war zone. Jewish and Christian militias have banded together and are fighting Islamic militias in the streets. Hundred on both sides are reported to have been killed. One hospital official in Jerusalem said he had seen as many as 50 dead and wounded arriving each hour. With the 22nd Imperial Army division reaching Jerusalem's outskirts it remains to be seen if fighting will cease or the 22nd will have to pacify the holy city. In the North the 2nd Imperial Marines have landed in Haifa and have begun evacuating Imperial citizens and are now moving east to gain control of the Golan heights. This operation has been more peaceful than the others but there have been reports of near rioting in Haifa's port area as nationals from other countries tried to escape onto Imperial ships. In the North as well Executive Operations working with support of Imperial Special forces and a Brigade from the 2nd Imperial Marines has secured Beirut which was in a near civil war but has had to find themselves combating rioters. In response Defense Minister Ptah has asked that all policemen in Nationalist Zion report to duty at there barracks. There salaries will be paid for by the Empire and each officer that returns to duty will gain a 5,000 solidus bonus. The Empire is hopeful this move will decrease rioting and allow for a smoother transition back to law and order. |

With Burakgazi's threat ended, and Prince Alexi having had his share of combat, is that the news of his father death hits the flagship of the Krasnodarian Fleet. Leaving the control of the fleet on the hands of his XO, Captain Frius, Prince Alexi departs on a helicopter towards the Krasnodarian capital, Abkhazia. Squadron Admiral Utkin, along with a squadron of the naval infantry had joined the Imperial troops at Burakgazi's base. Meeting with Ramius, Utkin, wearing the full dress of his rank introduced himself. "Squadron Admiral Utkin, Commander of the 2nd Grand Ducal Fleet. A privilege to finally meet you sir. We have heard great things of you from HH Prince Alexi." --Meanwhile at St. John-- Another call from the "Old man" rings on the hitman's cellphone. "The king is dead. the Duke shall follow." "what about the Duchess?" the hitman asked. "She'll be taken care off." was the answer before the deaf tone of the end of the call... The hitman was pleased, after all it was much simpler to take care of one target that of two. Anyhow, he begun to review his plan, the rifle was disassembled inside a case. Maps of the Cantonal Complex were all over the desk. A small book, with all the plan details written in ukrainian was the cherry piece of the cake. The hitman get all set, the maps burned inside a tin dustbin was the last light inside the room that night. A dead clerk man was the only witness of his stay, a potassium induced heart attack, a silent and almost undetectable death. Yet the Grand Duke's one should have to be quite a show. |

--- Istanbul --- This was the first time in quite awhile that Hatsumomo Saito was able to get anything resembling time off. She decided to take some time around the city with her friend Sayumi Shima, another Imperial solider from a different unit. Hatsumomo was thinking of getting some souveniers for her friends and family back home, while Sayumi was only interested in waiting for things to get dark and to check out the night life. Life in the city was starting to resemble something close to normal, as normal as you can get with Rafales and Tornados sortieing from Ataturk International. All of the rubble had been cleared, people were going about their business and children were out an about. "Wow those Army engineer guys are really something with their work." Sayumi commented. Not had just all the rubble been cleared, but many of the damaged buildings were in some stage of repair if not completely repaired. Off in the distance she could see some of the new apartments being built. They looked nice, not like industrial looking dense residential apartments, but these were nice looking, balconies, bright lively colors. "Man those new apartments look way nicer than my place back home!" Sayuri commented. Hatsumomo noticed an ice cream vendor, a rather jovial man with a thick mustache, and decided to buy a cone. "Let me get a scoop of vanilla with the mint chocolate chips." The vendor handed her the cone and she handed him a bill. "No no, quarter off for soliders, and pretty ladies, and half off for soldiers who are pretty ladies!" The vendor quipped with a smile. "Hey thanks!" Hatsumomo replied. "Still, take the whole thing, I feel bad not paying full price with the way things are." She insisted. "No no, solider's discount." The vendor insisted. "No please, take it all." Hatsumomo said. While this went on Sayumi watched with an exasperated expression. She dumped out her coffee cup and wiped the inside dry and took a pen and wrote "TIPS" on the side and placed it on the vendor's cart, took the money from Hatsumomo's hand and placed it in the cup. "There now you both can be happy!" The vendor laughed and waived as Sayumi lead Hatsumomo off. As they wandered the city most of the people were very polite with them, and a few of the refugees even thanked them for their efforts. Several children even invited the two to play some soccer with them and the two women decided to join in for a few minutes and joined opposing teams. Later that night the two went back out to the downtown areas to see what the night life was about. And they found a very lively scene. "Wow, with all that's going on, I'm surprised it's this lively!" Sayumi commented as they got in line for a night club. "Well think about it, people are under a lot of pressure and really need to get away from it, even for just a night." Hatsumomo said. Sayumi noticed a pair of soldiers in Izxaran Army uniforms with blue armbands indicating they were Kemal's troops, get in without waiting. "Hey you think they let soldiers in without waiting in line?" Sayumi asked. Before Hatsumomo could answer, Sayumi was dragging her off to the front of the line and fishing her Army ID out of her purse. She showed the ID to the bouncer and he waived them through into the club. Edited by Grangale Empire, Aug 29 2011, 12:55 AM.
