--- Somewhere in the central Anatolian mountains --- General Metran arrived at the mountain stronghold and now sat in his office pondering his next move. Since the fall of his headquarters his army had been shattered, however his subordinates worked to reunite his army and now was at 50% of his original strength. But his power base was still growing and it would keep growing. Recently his forces had captured a gold mine in the mountains and he now had the money to pay any solider willing to fight for him a generous sum. Already his agents were hard at work recruiting unemployed soldiers of other fallen warlords. Now what is it that those fools in St. John want most here... stability...? a reunited Izxaran Republic...? Metran thought to himself. Currently his biggest problem was Colonel Ridvan Kemal, and his Grangale backers. Metran knew Kemal quite well, the Colonel had served on his staff for awhile before being given command over the Istanbul District. Kemal was certainly more than competent and a man who cared little for politics, he cared about the people under his aegis. That made him vulnerable to political machinations. "Captain..." The General said to his aide Captain Tubarak who stood by the door. "Tell me, how does President Metran... sound to you?" |

Commodore Ramius, Colonel Kemal, and newly re-elected Mayor of Istanbul Zeycan Turan were holding a conference in city hall when they heard the news of the assassination attempt on the Grand Duke. It was still unknown if he would survive. "Wondering if the warlords have something to do with this..." Kemal thought out loud. "Warlords or Ukranians would be my guess." Ramius replied. "Colonel has there been any word on Metran's location?" Mayor Turan asked. "Not yet, I've just sent agents out to infiltrate his army, they should be sending word out soon. Though I don't think he would have anything to do with this, his beef is mainly with us, and not the Grand Duchy." The Colonel answered. "If it's all the the same though, Colonel I think you should have some troops pulling bodyguard duty on the Mayor." Ramius suggested. |

At the western banks Admiral Uzun was thrilled with what he was hearing. "It is in all channels Sir." said a member of his staff. "The Grand Duke has been shot." "What great news!" the warlord cheered then he thought, "the old man did it, I really doubt him for a moment" then he gave the orders "Prepare everything! We shall begin with the plan with the sunrise. It's time to take that ducal scum from my land." |

Alexandria, Monaco-Ville-Nice: Queen Cleopatra was ecstatic to be back in Alexandria, though the reason was a somber one. What a feeling for her to sleep in her own luxurious bed, swim in her own marble pools, and relax by the warmth and cool breeze that was the sun soaked Eastern Mediterranean Sea. "Nothing like home." she softly said while several servants massaged her after a warm bath. It wasn't however simply a time for leisure. Earlier in the day the Queen met with many of the Empires major tribal leaders. It was a major task of any ruler of the Empire to keep the peace and keep harmony existing between the many tribes that made up the Empire. Some would argue this was even the most important task of a ruler of the Empire. Tribal disputes could erupt into civil war which as seen in Ixzara was practically national suicide. So the Queen deftly listened to the concerns of the leaders and addressed them all until harmony was restored between the tribes. The leaders left happy and assured that the Queen truly deserved the title "Leader of leaders.". After this meeting it was on to meeting with the Minister of the Interior Panhsj, along with chief architect of the City of Cleopatra project Burj. In this meeting they went over the many models for the city, different design ideas, also little details from police uniforms, to garbage collection routes. The Queen gave her opinion (albeit a bit to often for both of their tastes.) and soon this meeting was over as well with the Minister and architect having to scramble for larger, more grander ideas on some designs. Finally it was off to the Imperial High Command and the Queen's meeting with Defense Minister Ptah. The Defense Minister was showing the Queen a map going over the situation in Zion saying "The 37th Imperial Marines have secured the Southwestern and West central region of Nationalist Zion. This includes the Gaza Strip, Capital of Tel Aviv, and much of the nations central heartland. Operations here have been relatively as expected, we've seen some strong fighting between militia's in Gaza and in the area bordering Gaza. This however has been dealt with and is relatively secure. The 22nd Division Imperial Army has take Southeastern Zion and East Central Zion. This includes Jerusalem, Bethlehem, and Jericho. The fighting here has been the most intense between rival militia's. The West Bank being somewhat of a melting pot compared to the rest of more segregated southern half of Zion saw tremendous amounts of blood shed. We've however turned the corner and have brought peace back to much of this area. We've practically bribed the local police to go back to work and for the most part they have and are assisting our soldiers. No more in Zion is this more important than here. With ethnic neighborhoods so closely bordering each other, violence is only a shot away. In Central Zion the 2nd Imperial Marines have landed in Haifa and have secured all of the currently restive North Central Zion and Golan Heights. The 2nd having an easy region to administer have sent a brigade to aid our 10,000 Executive Outcome Mercenaries operating in the northern section of the country. These Marines and Mercenaries have managed to pacify and secure the north's coastline, though inland areas remain out of our reach for the moment. However the 2nd Imperial Marines will soon take up headquarters in Beirut and begin pacifying the whole of Northern Zion. So very soon the whole of the country will be totally pacified.". The Queen nodded and smiled saying "Very good work Defense Minister. You were a good man to leave in charge of this situation.". The Defense Minister lowered his head and smiled on the inside before saying "Thank you Highness!". The Queen then nodded some more before saying "Very well, I shall leave you to it.". The Defense Minister breathed a sigh of relief hoping this kept her from interfering on a daily basis and said "A pleasure as always Highness.". The two then said brief goodbyes and the Queen went back to pressing internal matters. |

Somewhere on the western banks. Admiral Uzun was infuriated "Crap those God Dammed Grangalians or what the heck they are called. Hurry up get me a safe line with the old man." He barked to one of the disguised officer standing nearby. Somewhere in the Grand Duchy. "Admiral! how have you been?!" "Old Man you bloody bastard if I get to know that these Grangalians ships is of your doing I will..." "Will what Admiral? first of all calm down. All the Grangalians need is some little distraction to get their ships off your shore and the plan to go on. Don't worry. I'll get your distraction. Be ready to act." "You bet, for your own sake!" Phones hanged the old man was pissed with the admiral, but he was a necessary pawn on the big game. The old man than got a secured cellphone, and dialed a number on it. In Central Anatolia, another disguised officer enters an office with phone in the hand. "General, it's Him on the phone" As the general griped the phone the Old man's voice said "Good day General. How are things there?" Meanwhile at the Western Bank Veomese FOB code named Valkyrie, soldiers were patrolling what they called The Strip, a strip of land heavily bombed earlier on the conflict by both forces. Uzun's forces were too debilitated to advance against the Veomese positions, and the Veomese were already to stretched to keep on advancing. It was an impasse. But this day there was something different in the air. The growing tension could be felt. The veomese had got a harsh blow from the assassination of the Grand Duke, and they knew that sooner or not so sooner Uzun would make his move. On board of the Submarine Misha, Commodore Lagunov was the Gate Keeper of the Bosphorus since Vice Admiral Berkh led the damaged ships back to Veomo to repair. With Uzun's fleet decimated and the FOB's established there was no actual need to keep a full fleet on the Marmara sea, controlling both straits. As he was informed of the approach of heavy surface ships by the radar control, he contacted them "Attention, Attention, Here is HHS Misha of the Grand Ducal Navy, over. You're entering military controlled area, please identify yourself, over." while ordering battle stations on all subs. |

"Captain we're being hailed." The Muspellheim's communications officer reported. Captain William Noah, the Muspellheim's captain and commander of the remaining 6 ships of the 7th Fleet listened to the hail. "Attention, Attention, Here is HHS Misha of the Grand Ducal Navy, over. You're entering military controlled area, please identify yourself, over." "Put me though..." Noah ordered. "...This is Captain Noah commander of the 7th Imperial Fleet of the Grangale Empire, we are en route to the Black Sea to support the 4th Imperial Fleet. Over." Captain Noah was to meet with Commodore Ramius and Colonel Kemal in Istanbul to discuss what the 7th Fleet would be doing in the Black Sea. While Noah would have preferred to have the 7th return to its home port of Ragnar Naval Base, the situation couldn't be helped, it would take too long for another fleet to arrive from the Empire. |

Alexandria, Monaco-Ville-Nice: Queen Cleopatra had spent the better part of the day taking a nap. She wasn't much of a napper but the rushing of events and meetings the last days had tuckered her out and their was only so many nights of four hours of sleep a person could take without crashing, even a god queen. Queen Cleopatra began to stir not wanting to get out of bed for anything. However she finally had rise around 7 at night, when a handmaiden came to tell her Defense Minister Ptah was waiting for her in her study. After a long period of grumbling and hesitation the Queen rose and in 5 minutes her handmaidens had her in a "presentable" state to meet the Defense Minister. The Queen headed to her study and their she found Defense Minister Ptah sitting in a chair on his phone directing operations in Zion. He said to the person on the other line "I'll call you back later." but the Queen insisted it was alright if he continued. After a few minutes the Defense Minister had moved another Brigade of the 2nd Imperial Marines into Northern Nationalist Zion and he could talk to the Queen. "Sorry Highness, duty called." the Defense Minister said, the Queen smiled and said " I'm married to a soldier no apologies needed.". The Defense Minister thanked the Queen and then said "Well I'm here to tell you that Drekka for whatever reason felt the need to ask Grangale if they could make a permanent base in Zion." the Queen nearly choked with laughter before saying "Idiots.". The Defense Minister laughed a little to and then said " I took the liberty to decline on your behalf. I hope you don't mind?" the Queen stayed laughing and said "No, just a shame you had to waste five minutes to even reply.". The Defense Minister nodded and then the talk switched to stabilizing the rest of Nationalist Zion which the Defense Minister was hopeful would be complete around the end of the week. Captain Noah arrived at Istanbul without incident. The Muspellheim was docked next to the Venator, and Noah silently chuckled to himself over how much more imposing the 50 something year old battleship was next to the light carrier. An local government car picked him up and drove him to City Hall where he met with Commodore Ramius, Colonel Kemal and Mayor Turan. During the meeting, it was decided that General Metran would remain the priorty target. There were rumors that he was going to declare the establishment of Ixzaran Republic with him as president. Neither were sure about how the rest of the region would react to that, and they were determined to stop him before his plans came to fruitation. For the mean time the three would work under the assumption that the Grand Duchy would continue to put the pressure on Admiral Urzu. If that was not the case, the 7th Fleet ships would be sent to pick up the slack. They were also aware that Veomo lacked the ground troops break the stalemate. The decision was made that once General Metran was taken care of, elements of the 3rd Imperial Army would redeploy to the Admiral's territory. The battleship and the fleet carrier would certainly give them a powerful edge in the region. |
