With the news broadcasting the speech of the Premier of Veomo, the troops morale went terribly down, the scenario was propitious for Uzun's troops. Old man's infiltrated men were undermining the defenses of the Veomese positions, and on a harsh movement during a clouded night, Uzun made his movement. The Veomese troops had no chance, though casualties summed on both sides, the Veomese were defeated and had to abandon several strategical positions of the West Banks. Uzun had grown powerful.

A blast on the sea was what got the attention of the Eastern bank troops of Colonel Kemal in Istanbul. Uzun somehow managed to rebuild part of his fleet and was now attacking the 1st Fleet of Veomo. submarines were sinking and before the fleet could do anything half of it was on the bottom of the ocean. But it wasn't the worst part.

As the sun raises on the horizon, a perfectly aimed torpedo is launched from one of the Uzun's submarines. It's target, the Muspellheim propellers.

Somewhere on the western banks Admiral Uzun was thrilled with the results. Smoking columns could be seen on the horizon where once the Veomese FOBs stood. The Old Man knew that this collateral was necessary, but managed to secretly remove almost half of the troops from the western banks on the last week, and placed them on the Ukrainian and SUP's border lines.Veomo was shutting down, and closing up into itself. Now he had some other issues to attend as he was about to visit a member of his network.

"Hello Kenneth" the old man said...

--- Aboard the GIS Muspellheim ---

Captain Noah just returned from the meeting at Istanbul when he was bombarded with reports from the coast. Admiral Uruz had made his move.

"What the f@#^ Is going on there?! Report!" Just as Noah demanded a report and explosion rocked the ship.

"What was that?! Damage report!" Noah ordered.

"Engineering reports a torpedo strike to the propellers, all but one of the screws are heavily damaged! We're practically dead in the water sir!" An officer reported.

Damn...! "Everyone to your stations NOW!"

Noah had to think fast... "Order all Veomo submarines to switch over to Joint Alliance Protocol Frequency!" The frequency was a newly implemented protocol for Alliance members in joint military operations. "All submarines not broadcasting this signal are to be considered hostile and to be destroyed immediately. Then I want the Nibelheim's anti-submarine helicopters up there in the air, and the destroyers on anti-submarine patrol. The Nibelheim is also to launch Rafales armed for ground attack and provide air support for our allies there." The Captain ordered.

Within moments helicopters were lifting off from the Nibelheim's deck and ASROCs were being launched from the fleet's remaining Hatakaze-class destroyer to engage the hostile submarines. As soon as the helicopters were away, Rafales armed with air-to-surface ordinance were hurled from the Nibelheim's deck. Several of Uzun's submaries joined the sunken Veomo submaries, at the hands of both the SH-60Js and the Hatakaze's ASROCs.

"Sir we have inbound destroyers!" The ship's radar operator called. "Negative on the Alliance Frequency."

"The destroyers are to focus on the submarines. Activate ECM and have the Nibelheim deploy a squad of Rafales equipped for anti-shipping strikes!"

"Get me the commander of the Veomo 1st Fleet! Is any of them still alive?!" Noah ordered.

--- Aboard the GIS Venator ---

Ramius approached Prince Alexi to shake his hand and welcome him back aboard the Venator when off in the distance he could see small explosions.

"What the hell's going on over there?" The Commodore asked.

Prince Alexi turned and looked, then looked back at the Commodore and calmly said. "What I wanted to speak with you about..."

Uzun's forces where getting hit hard on the water, as it was planned. As soon as Uzun's had all the attention from Grangale's naval, it was time. From the east came Metran's forces. They had been mobilizing through the last weeks, circling around Colonel Kemal's forces and were now hitting Metran's former base, cutting off Kemal's supply line.

From the west a surprise arrived for Grangale's forces, Uzun's deals with the old man got him a nice treaty, hidding in his territory were former members of Neoplantan air force, and now, acting as mercenary, high trained pilots, they were providing the so needed air support Uzun's navy needed. It was a hard blown on Grangale's air support as it was caught by surprise.

Suddenly one of the neoplantan fighters was hit, the pilot, aimed the falling plane to the Muspellheim guns and armed his bombs. The plane an F15, was now working as a ballistic missile, without a wing, the pilot accelerate more and more... It was a Neoplantan signature maneuver. A direct hit... flames raised from Muspellheim's deck....

--- City Hall, Istanbul ---

"Colonel, what the hell is going on?!" Mayor Turan demanded.

The Colonel, at his forward base was working to stem General Metran's tide. "I'm a little busy out here, Mayor!"

The base was in the mountains and Kemal's forces were dug in deep. His forces were better trained and better equipped. Kemal stood next to a map. "They're moving to cut us off, send a squad of Tornados covered by Rafales armed for air-to-air." He ordered. He noticed a pass near the airfield on the map... "I want snipers and anti-armor troops here to watch our backs." Looking at another part of the map, were terrain was more level. "Have the Type 10s here, abandon their defensive positions and launch an offensive. Their outdated tanks won't stand against the Type 10s.

Kemal's Type 10s and Tornados cut Metran's forces to pieces. The F-16s Metran sent up were no match for the Rafales and their better trained pilots. However they wern't driven back without cost. Kemal had lost a number of infantry units, a tank platoon, but most of all, Metran showed that he wasn't finished. This could cause more troops to flock to his side.

"That was probably his plan all a long..." Kemal thought outloud. "Even if he took this base, he couldn't hold it... this attack was a message..."

While the Colonel though, his temporary aid came into his office. "Good news Colonel... we'll soon find out where Metran lives..." The aid said.

"So they pulled it off huh?" At the start of the attack Captain Hakha had come up with an interesting plan. Using some hastily modified ordinance and riot equipment, Alpha Squad was able to plant, rather glue, transmitters onto several tanks. The idea being when those tanks withdraw, it would lead them straight to Metran's hidden base.

"Radio Istanbul, tell them to prep the B-1s and Tu-160s..." The Colonel ordered.

--- Aboard the GIS Muspelheim ---

Captain Noah only saw a blur when the front of his ship exploded. He was knocked on his feet and when he got up, demanded a damage report.

"Number One turret destroyed, heavy damage to the front of the ship. But we're still afloat."

Noah mentally congratulated who ever came up with the all or nothing armoring concept. Only the most vital parts of the ship would be armored and armored to the max, allowing her to take severe abuse and stay afloat. Still fight...? Well that was another matter... "I'm transferring the flag to Nibelheim!" Noah announced.

Minutes later Captain Noah was on the carrier's bridge. The destroyers and the submarines had already been sunk, so all that was left were the F-15s. However nearly half the Rafales were shot down on their air-to-ground sorties. And the remaining fighters were outnumbered.

"Aerial reinforcements from Istanbul will be arriving shortly. Rafales, MiGs, and F-14Ds ETA 2 minutes." Captain Armagest, the Nibelheim's captain announced.

F-14Ds? They're here already? Naval high command had decided to adopt the Air Fleet's policy of two planes per role. The idea being that if one type was grounded the other was still in service to fill that roll. Several of the Nibelheim's Rafales were to be replaced by F-14Ds, but Noah wasn't expecting those F-14Ds until later.

Captain Ozma Lee, leading his squadron of F-14Ds pick up the hostile F-15s on the Super Tomcat's powerful radar. He got his lock ons long before the Rafales and MiGs could. He waited till he got six locks, the maximum number the AWG-9 radar could track, and fired. "Fox 1" He reported as did the rest of the squadron as they fired a barrage of AIM-54 Phoenix missiles.

As the air reinforcement of the Grangale's was on their way, the F15's got the order to fall back behind the aerial defenses. The damaged caused by Uzun's forces were several, as were the ones taken, but Uzun still had a card on his sleeve. As the F15's got behind the defense lines, flaring defenses covering the air behind, SAM batteries got any aircraft that attempt to follow the F15's which were now turning around to engage the newly arrived enemy. With the Muspellheim off the battle a second wave of ships came into battle including some heavily armed anti-air frigates.

The Sea of Marmara was a massive battlefield Uzun had managed to hide some of the newest ships of the former ixzaran on the several islands of the Agean Sea and now they were sailing into the battle.

"Do not pursue, all fighters remain to cover the fleet." Noah had seen that trick before. Most of the F-15s were downed by the long range barrage of Phoenix missiles, though what was left continued to harass the fleet.

"Captain, additional hostile surface contacts." The carrier's radar operator reported.

Hmm... 8 destryers and 2 anti-ship frigates... Normally the Rafales would have shredded the destroyers but those frigates would pose a problem.

"Get me the Muspellheim!" Noah ordered.

"This Commander Akiyama..."

"Akiyama, what still works?" The captain asked.

"...the cruise missiles and the Number Three turret."

"Good, can you hit the frigates?" Noah asked.

"Not yet, they're out of our firring cone... for now... ooohpp, spoke too soon, one is within range, if we wait, I bet we can hit three of them." Akiyama said.

"I'll leave it to you."

--- In the skies above ---

Captain Lee was mulling over an idea. "Skull Squad, Wraith Squad, how are your counter measures?" Several reported full.

"Neibelheim, equip some Rafales for air to ground, I have a plan." Lee said to the carrier.

"OK here's what we do, Skull and Wraith will fly in low, full after burner and drop chaff all over the frigates, meanwhile the Rafales will be in the air, and once the chaff clears fire off their anti-ship missiles.

The F-14Ds and the MiG-29Ms roared towards the approaching fleet, on full after burner deploying chaff, confusing the frigate's SAMs, just behind waiting for the chaff to clear were the Rafales. A second later multple Rafale's got their lock on tone and ripple fired at the frigate. mutiple missiles struck the frigate turning the superstructure into a massive fire ball.

It was then the Number Three turret fired, and scored a direct hit on a destroyer but did not score a fatal hit on the frigate. However eveasive action that it took brought it to within range of the Nibelheim's own missiles, and soon found itself doing the fireball swim as it's sister was doing.

Still rough odds, 5 destroyers to a banged up carrier, banged up 4 destoryers and an barely functioning battleship..." Noah thought.

"Additional radar contact, 6 destroyers, a light carrier, and 6 air contacts... It's the 4th!" The radar operator shouted.

Noah looked out, and off in the distance saw the Sovermennys of the fleet ripple fire a barage of Sunburn missiles at the 7 remaining destroyers. The missiles were followed by Sea Harriers armed with anti-ship missiles.

The attack was finally over, all but one of the hostile ships was sunk, but on the other hand, the already battered 7th Fleet took severe beating.

"There's no way around it, the 7th will have to return to Junon..." Captain Noah said.

--- Imperial Council Chambers, Directia ---

Clifford read though the report of the recent ambush of the 7th Fleet by Admiral Uruz. "Well, now is as good a time as any to re-organize the 4th and consider sending the 5th there."

The 4th Imperial Fleet, since it's reorganization was not a full battle fleet, it was much smaller and had half the numbers. It was organized into a fast response flexible force. Since being sent to the Black Sea there had been some talk of another reorganization. The reorganized fleet would have been comprised of two squadrons, the ships currently making up the fleet and additional destroyers, frigates and submarines centered around the Shirane-class destroyer GIS Dauntless.

The 5th Imperial Fleet was a typical carrier force centered around the Admiral Kuznetsov-class GIS Jotunheim and also had one of the new Kirov-class battlecruisers the GIS Hrist added to its roster.

The rest of the council was in agreement.

"To keep the Bosphorus out of the control of the warlords, we ought to send the 6th Fleet there, I'll send the dispatch to MVN about it." Ashley said, again, to the agreement of the council.

The next day the additional ships would receive their deployment orders to the Black Sea.

TO: Defense Minister Ptah
FROM: Imperial Military General Headquarters of the Grangale Empire
SUBJECT: Nationalist Zion blockade

We regret to inform you that we cannot continue to assist in the blockade at this time. The warlord Admiral Uzun has launched a counter attack and has inflicted heavy damage on the remaining ships of the 7th Fleet. As such we are forced to recall the 7th to its home port of Junon and move the 6th Fleet into the Black Sea to ensure that the Bosporus does not fall under the control of the warlord.

MESSAGE TO GRANGALE EMPIRE:

From: Celatorian Ministry for War
To: Grangale Empire
Subject: Military situation in Anatolia and the surrounding waters

We have noticed heavy military activity in the Aegean and on the Anatolian peninsula. We still have two military divisions in Levantia and two fleets in Levantian ports onto the Aegean that can be immediately dispatched. What is the situation? Do you require assistance?

TO: Celatorian Ministry of War
FROM: Imperial Military General Headquarters
SUBJECT: Re: Military situation in Anatolia and the surrounding waters

A resurgent Admiral Uruz launched an ambush on our 7th Fleet and Veomo's 1st fleet. We've been unable to contact the 1st fleet and currently fear the worst, and we are forced to return the 7th back to its home port in the Empire. Veomo's forces appear to have been driven back both on the ground and at sea, and we lack the ground troops to deploy to the western side of the Bosporus. We advise deploying ground troops there if you have any to spare.

While we have sent the 5th Fleet and the 6th Fleet to the Black Sea it would take time for them to arrive, especially the 5th as it is departing from the Empire. We advise that you use one of your fleets to patrol the Bosphorus to prevent the warlord from taking control of that sea way.

Be aware, we suspect someone is backing the warlord and may be better equipped than we realized.

We appreciate the offer of assistance.

20,000 Celatorian soldiers, trained to their peak after months spent crushing the forces of Demi, Karga and Avci, boarded ships. The two fleets were, on high alert, to attempt to land the Celatorian division in the South of the area controlled by Uzun.

Against heavy resistance, the troops were landed. One fleet remained near the troops to provide support, while the other began to patrol the Bosphorus and Aegean.
