Alexandria-Monaco-Ville-Nice: Foreign Minister Nelson Beaudelairen was talking in his video conference room to the royals, the Imperial military's high command, many important ministers, as well as several distinguished ambassadors. The Pharaoh was talking to the entire conference addressing the major issue of the new government of Byronmandy and there aggressive speech against the Vienna Alliance, Monarchies in general, and there aggressive new action in which the government of Byronmandy stated "Any foreign army in the former territory of Ixzara and Neoplanta will be regarded as hostile and an occupying force.”. To the Pharaoh this was as good as a declaration of war "Byronmandy does not dictate what every country in the region does, or how they act. Byronmandy does not get to threaten nations and then send military forces miles from our protectorate of Cyprus without our response. With the election of the Neo-Conservatives and the massive support of there hawkish ideals, I have no reason but to believe war is coming. Why should we wait until Byronmandy attacks us as they eventually will? Byronmandy does not get to dictate when they go to war or what the Empire does. If we will have a war we should have it now.". The Queen smiled and embraced her husband as the many ministers and generals nodded and agreed that this was the best course of action. The Pharaoh then held up his hand and spoke "And I have just the way to start our war, so that we may end it as quickly as possible.". The Pharaoh explained his plan as the Imperial High Command moved to turn it into reality.

Foreign Minister Nelson Beaudelairen was then tasked with informing the Empires allies of the Empires decision to go to war with Byronmandy. He set about calling his opposites in the countries allies with the Empire. The Empire was prepared to go in this alone, however this was a war for the right of monarchies to exist. The monarchies Byronmandy day in day out threatened and referred to as dictators and tyrants besides the Empire all had a stake in this conflict. The Foreign Minister was hopeful the allies of the Empire would see this as well.

.........................................

Imperial Air Corps base outside Alexandria, Monaco-Ville-Nice: Air Marshal Dyem was a bit shocked by the orders that came across the wire. The Imperial Military, especially the Air Corps had prepared for this mission however for years. So when the orders came down the wire the Air Marshal went right to it. Immediately he called the squadron commanders of the TU-22 M backfires into his office. The TU-22 M is a supersonic, swing-wing, long-range strategic and maritime strike bomber ideal for launching Kh-22 air to ship missiles at long range to devastating effect. The ideal weapon for destroying a fleet such as the 8th and 9th Byronmandian fleets sailing to Asia Minor well within striking distance from the Empire. These two fleets were the targets for the TU-22 M's of the 30th, 34th, 29th, 28th, and 33rd Imperial Air Corps divisions.

.............................

Somewhere over the Mediterranean: Within a matter of hours hundreds of TU-22 M's each armed with 6 KH-22's were airborne heading toward the 2 Byronmandian fleets in the middle of the Mediterranean. The TU 22's were escorted by the Su-37's and Mig 35's of there respective Imperial Air Corps divisions. Refueling was provided by the Empire when needed over the Empire and over the Mediterranean to ensure each bomber and there escort reached firing range.

Once the TU-22 M's reached there firing distance of 400 km, just outside the 8th and 9th fleets effective radar range and began there attack. The TU-22's all climbed and launched there KH-22's. The KH-22's dove quickly and raced to there targets which had been locked onto miles away. After diving thousands of feet in near seconds and reducing there speed from Mach 4 to Mach 2, the KH-22's reached there cruising altitude of just 200 M above the water. It only took a matter of about a minute before the thousands of KH-22's reached there targets. Some were shot down by the Byromandian fleets but they were not expecting an attack, especially not one so suddenly. Though some were shot down, to many were launched and the Byronmandians to unaware to even prevent the majority from not reaching there targets. The KH-22's hit with a 2,200 lb warhead, it blew a hole 16 ft in diameter and penetrated 40 ft in most cases. Within a matter of minutes it was over and the 8th and 9th fleet and the 5 infantry divisions that were being carried by the fleets were shredded by the Imperial Air Corps.

This was the age of the airplane and Imperial naval strategy largely hinged on aerial attacks such as this to work in tandem with the Imperial Navy to win a naval theater. With coordinated satellite intelligence and movement tracking in tandem with the massive Imperial Air Corps assault, the 8th and 9th never really had a chance. Massive gray metal hulks hardly resembling warships smoked and burned while sinking. Some rolled over, some split in half, some sank bow and some sank stern. There was hardly a ship left untouched. In the end it was the Empire that got the advantage on Byronmandy before the Republic "knew what hit them.”. The surviving ships of the 8th and 9th fleet soon were picked off by the TU-22 M's of the 31st Imperial Air Corps division launching out of Cyprus, while the 7th Fleet of the Imperial Navy cut off any possible escape route for the 2 doomed Byronmandian fleets, taking nearly 5 whole divisions to the bottom.

The 7th Fleet skirmished with the remaining Byronmandian vessels and picked up the many floating survivors. The Imperial Air Corps maintained total air supremacy over the 7th fleet before the fleet retired heading back to Alexandria. The Admiral of the 7TH Fleet, Admiral Sharm felt a bit of anger as a naval man watching a beautiful fleet so ruthlessly attacked from the air. These were his enemy however. They would ravage his home if the Empire would let them. The 7th sailed away with many Byronmandian POW's and wounded bound for Alexandria.

........................................................

Alexandria-Monaco-Ville-Nice: Defense Minister Ptah was rushing around listening to the incoming news of the Imperial attack. He was also quickly seeing to the massive Imperial troop movements in the Empire. The 32nd Imperial Air Corps division was recalled from Veomo back to there base in Libya, the 10th, 35th, 20th, 19th, 21st, 23rd, 24th, 25th Imperial Army Divisions were moved to the Protectorate of Libya to await further orders. The 26th, 27th, 28th, 29th, and 33rd Imperial Air Corps were then also transferred to the Protectorate of Libya and awaited further orders.

...................................

(Broadcast for the Imperial News Network)

Pharaoh Mark Antony sat in front of a teleprompter dressed in a suit with Queen Cleopatra to his left in a cream Chanel dress. Due to the military nature of the situation it was the Pharaoh, not the Queen who spoke. He sat in front of the camera confidently and then began to speak "Good evening. Today as many of you now know the Empire has begun undertaking military action against the Republic of Byronmandy. This afternoon brave pilots of 6 divisions of the Imperial Air Corps attacked 2 fleets carrying 5 of the Republics divisions to Asia Minor. The attack was a total success with all objectives swiftly met. Our skilled pilots carried out there duty professionally and with the courage expected of all Imperial airmen. The Empire is proud of these men today.".

The Emperor then paused and briefly looked down before speaking again "There are those who will say the Empire attacked solely offensively and with conquest in mind. I however am here to dispel these allegations and rumors. With the election of Alexander Wayne and the rise of Neoconservatives, the self proclaimed patriotic, hawkish, and ideological of the former Republicans, Byronmandy has seen a massive rise in not only social but also governmental anti-monarchy sentiment. The Byronmandians have coined all of us who don't govern as they do tyrants, dictators, and monsters of the worst kind. True enough, words are not enough to start a war. However led by the Neoconservatives, talk has turned to aggressive actions in the form of denouncing our and our allies attempts to pacify Ixzara, while doing nothing themselves. In order to protect our Protectorate of Cyprus and end the killings in South Anatolia, the Imperial Marines bravely have taken Mersin and are in the process of ending the fighting and restoring order. Acting late and acting with threats that I quote "Any foreign army in the former territory of Ixzara and Neoplanta will be regarded as hostile." the Byronmandians sought to deploy 2 fleets and 5 army divisions to Ixzara. These divisions would have been well within striking distance of our men in Ixzara and our Protectorate of Cyprus.". The Pharaoh sat up looking more confident in his cause than ever "This is something that the Empire just couldn't allow. The protection of our soldiers and our territory are our chief concern. This growing hostile rhetoric and deployment, along with growing concern here in the Empire and with our allies, led us to the conclusion that war was coming sooner or later. When the Empire fights a war, we fight to win as we have done here.". The Queen then put her hand on the Pharaohs as the Pharaoh continued "This is not to say that the Empire wishes to seize anything from Byronmandy. We don't want Byronmandys land, money, or people, we simply want the rhetoric and one sided thinking to end. We live in the world, not the world according to Byronmandy. What works for some of our countries, doesn't have to work for all. Sticking to that principle, we offer Byronmandy this chance to change there ways. End the rhetoric, end the one sided thinking, end the anti-monarchist sentiment, and end the war.".

The Pharaoh then cleared his throat and spoke again "The Empire has acted alone in this operation, we are only now starting to contact our friends around the region about this action. The Empire is prepared to go in this alone, however we feel we are fighting now for the rights of all monarchies and our way of life....... and right to exist. We welcome any countries support either politically or militarily, though we understand war is nothing to be taken lightly. War however would be brought to us eventually by these hawks and when we were at our most vulnerable. The Empire could not take that risk and risk to our way of life. We have as much of a right to govern and exist as does a Republican form of government...... The rhetoric ends now President Alexander Wayne. I address you now directly. End the rhetoric, end the media attacks, end the hostile threats and troop deployments, and we will end this war. If you do not end this disturbing trend in Byronmandian politics then I shall be forced to continue this war, and I don't enjoy teaching amateurs lessons.".

The Pharaoh then sat forward in his chair looking very sincere "Finally I address the families of those in Byronmandy and the families of Imperial Air Corps crew members who lost there lives today. As a soldier myself it is never easy to order men into combat knowing the horrors of war that await them. Though having seen these horrors makes you more able to lead men through them. I say now I am terribly sorry for the loss of all men, on both sides who fell today. This is a war between nations, not men. Good night, and may the gods bless the Empire.".

---Air Traffic Control Tower, Ataturk International Airport---

Samir was tired, he's been working 10 hour shifts since the air port was reopened for evacuation and delivery of supplies. His years of working as an air traffic controller had caused him to build up a strong tolerance to caffeine so he had to fight though his fatigue. His fatigued body took a moment longer than usual to process what he saw on his console, someone was trying to contact the tower. He leaned over and pushed a button and a speaker on his head set crackled to life. "Istanbul Center, here is GDG390KC, requesting airspace clearance and directions to IST, over".

"This Istanbul Center, you are cleared to land on Runway 5, and proceed to Hangar 9." Samir responded.

Colonel Kemal and several Izxaran officers approached Major Kozel as he disembarked. Kozel recognized the senior officer and saluted. "Major Kozel of the Grand Duchy here with a shipment of humanitarian supplies."

Kemal returned the salute, "Colonel Kemal, overall military commander of this district, your aid is much appreciated."

As the cargo was unloaded Kemal explained the situation to Kozel. They were, for the most part, able to meet the challenge of providing food, but the supply of drinking water struggled to keep up with demand. Many of the refugees were dehydrated from being on the run for so long, and after the liberation of an extermination camp, the doctors feared they would run out of medicine soon.

As the KC390 began preparations for departure, Kemal personally saw Kozel off and said "Tell your government, we greatly appreciate what you have done here. There are people in the hospitals and the camps who will make now because of your efforts."

When word of Byormandy's declaration reached Councilor Clifford, the man exploded and Reeve knew he was in for A LONG Council session. "What?! Where do they get off calling us an 'invading army'? The Izxzaran asked us for help! We're there on the ground providing food, water, medicine, and safety and on top of that our engineers are rebuilding Instabul, even liberating exermination camps, they have the gall to call us invaders?!" Clifford ranted. The infuriated Councilman stopped to catch his breath and Reeve knew he wasn't done yet. "What has Bryomandy done for these people huh? Did they rush over to help the only Colonel who remained at his post?! NO! Did they land troops to beat back a genocidal warlord?! NO! Did the-"

Clifford's rant was cut off by an aid who entered the Council chambers. Saved... Reeve though. While Clifford was a brilliant administrator and had enough charisma for people to listen and follow him, the man had a seriously explosive temper.

The aid delivered a report on what had just happed in the waters near Ixzaran.

"Get Grand Admiral Belmont and Air Marshal Strictland here... immidiately." Arlington said.

A moment later the two commanders arrived and the 14 of them began to work out a plan.

---Imperial District Press Room, Directia---

This time, it was Arlington's turn to announce the nation.
"Fellow Imperial citizens. Troubled times loom over the horizon. We sought to aid a besiged people in the city of Istanbul, to aid a proud and noble colonel who remained at his command, to protect the people in his district. However our assistance has been foolish interpreted as a 'land grab' even after overall military command has been ceded to Colonel Ridvan Kemal.

Bryomandy, blinded by a jingoistic patriotism, seeks to take Ixzaran for itself, to that end deploying two of their fleets to attack any foreign army, regardless of it's intentions there. Our allies struck a crippling blow to their fleet. From the moment we responded to their plea for help, we have assumed responsibility for the people of the Istanbul District. We will not abandon people we have agreed to help, and due to that, war with Bryomandy is likely inevitable. The Empire of Grangale does not abandon it's responsibilities, nor will the Empire of Grangale be cowed and bullied. People of Istanbul, we will not abandon you to yet another power mad warlord. Colonel Ridvan Kemal, we will continue to stand side by side with you and continue to help your people. And to our allies, Pharaoh and Queen of Monaco-Ville-Nice we stand with you. We are not the invaders! Bryonmandy is!

With his Imperial Grangalian Majesty Emperor Julii XIII still away, the Imperial Council has been given full authority to act upon this matter. After careful deliberations, the 6th and 7th Imperial Fleets will be deployed to the Mediterranean to assist our allies in which ever way we can as well as to provide protection for Istanbul from any Bryomanian invasion forces. The whole of the 3rd Imperial Army and the whole of the 5th Tactical Imperial Fighter Wing will be deployed to Istanbul.

Let it be known, we did not want this war. Refugees from Istanbul came to us for help, and we responded. We responded with food, with drinking water, with medicine and with security forces. If power mad jingoists wish to eject our aid to these people, we will stand with out allies against them. Remember, that it was WE who acted when others declined to do so. It was the Grangale Empire that answered a call for help, it was Monaco-Ville-Nice that took action against a genocidal warlord. It was Veomo who sent food, water and medicine to a struggling Istanbul! The right is with us!"

Arlington then paused for dramatic effect before raising his fist and almost shouting " FORWARD EVER ONWARD TO A BRIGHT AND SHINING FUTURE!"

Reeve, who was listening to the broadcast from his office in the Imperial District could hear the chanting across the Imperial Capital Directia. Arlington always had a way with words, much better than he or Clifford did. "You were right my friend, when we sent those troops to help we crossed the Rubicon."

---Istanbul District command center---
"Colonel we've got an critical situation!" Windamier said as he burst into Kemal's office.

"What's going on?" Kemal asked, a sudden sinking feeling in the pit of his stomach.

"Two things, Bryomandy has declared our presence here as a foreign invasion and sent a massive force towards Ixzaran." Windamier explained.

"What?! That doesn't even count as insane, sure my district is a protectorate now, but we requested you assistance!" Kemal said.

"Well Colonel, there's more. Just moments ago Monaco-Ville-Nice attacked their fleet and sent most of it to the bottom. War is all but assured.

"Do those damned Bryomandy idiots even realize what will happen to all the people here if you left? We'd either be slaughtered by the warlords or starve to death! They did nothing while the warlords consolidated power, and now that we have the assistance to get back on our feet they declare you to be invaders?! Hmph they might want to check if their water supply has been spiked!" Kemal snarled.

Mersin, Former Ixzaran Republic: The major port in Mersin was wrested from the control of General Pasha's men by several Marine Battalions, Imperial Marine Demolitions Regiment soldiers, and several AAV's. Pasha's men put up fierce resistance at the start of the engagement but after air power and AAV's came in, the small arms wielding soldiers had to retreat, leaving the port to the Marines. Once the port was totally secured by the Marines several large cargo ship began docking and unloading the marines heavy equipment. The Imperial Marines MBT's, IFV's, APC's, Artillery, and the remaining men of the 1st Imperial Marine division were all landed into Mersin. Quickly following suit was the 2nd Imperial Marine division, unloading there vehicles, men, and supplies. Now both fully deployed the two Imperial Marine divisions began deploying across the city with the support of there heavy weapons.

Due to the new war with Byronmandy the operation in Southern Anatolia quickly lost its importance with the Imperial Army. The Imperial Army was ordered to hold the deployment of the 17th Imperial Airborne division from Cyprus. The 17th was instead to be flown back to Egypt by the 31st Imperial Air Corps when at all possible to be made ready for possible operations against Byronmandy. This however was just fine with the Imperial Marines, who now saw this war in Southern Anatolia as a truly Imperial Marine conflict. Instead of the 17th flying into Mersin International Airport, it now was the 37th Imperial Marines division which began being transported by the 36th Imperial Naval fleet into Mersin Port. This theater was now totally in the hands of the Imperial Marines and Commandant Sergio Amos.

The Marines began a campaign of winning the hearts and minds of the people almost from the get go. Along with the 37th Imperial Marine division, massive amounts of aid and aid workers were being sent in with them. If the Imperial Marines were to beat these rogue Ixzarans, they would need the peoples support. For desperate people food, some money, and water are all that was needed to gain nearly all the information you could hope for on Pashas troop movements. Pasha was mustering his forces outside the city to attempt a counter attack against the Imperial Marines. Pasha was planning on a massive role of the dice to throw the Imperial forces out of Southern Anatolia.

As the KC390 left Istanbul with a mission fulfilled, under water the situation was another. Led by the HHS Misha, the submarine squadron was almost over Admiral Uzun's Fleet vanguard.

Commodore Lagunov, commander of the squadron, grabbed the radio:

"Here is Misha do you copy?"

after a few cracks of the radio, a voice returned:

"Here is Shura. Berkh speaking."

"Good day Vice-Admiral Berkh, Lagunov here. The situation on the Bosphorus is a rather complicated one. We shall need your assistance to drive the battle away from Istanbul."

"Roger that Lagunov. What is your status?"

"We are two clicks away from Rubicon. We've detected heavy ships at the bosphorus gateway, smaller ones at the strait. It would seem that Uzun gathered all his ships at the Marmara, relatively safe of incursions of Burakgazi ships."

"Roger, be carefull, we may get some help to cross over, the Second Fleet informed that Burakgazi begun to mobilize its vessels to west. It would seem he want to take Uzun away from asia. So expect a increase of movement on your location. Remember do not engage unless engaged upon. Our primary mission is to rescue the passengers of the Gerveroux."

"Yes Sir!"

Meanwhile, a unit of the Grand Duchy Guard, was skydiving over the Dardanelles. Their mission was to secure the Gerveroux and verify its status. Trapped between two warlords, the prognosis wasn't the best one. As their plane was turning around, a SAM battery hit it, as the falling pieces of the KC390 fell around the diving unit, a message was received at Baru Hurezumsa. The Imperials had declared war against Byronmandy, due to their latest actions.

---------------

A few moments later, Premier Kendar was holding a conference press with some members of the Collegium sitted with him.

"The current situations are unfortunate ones to the Grand Duchy, both in timing as in action. While our forces are still working to bring Ukraine back together, two powerful republics felt near us. Neoplanta to the west and Ixzara to the south. The lack of resources made impossible to us to involve ourselves before. But recently as most of you already know, we sent humanitarian aid to the district of Istanbul. Also we are doing everything in our hands to get the crew and passengers of the cruise liner Gerveroux safely home.

Now, some of you may already know, while others may not. A few hours ago, the Imperial Air Force, engaged and destroyed, two fleets of the Republic of Byronmandy. Henceforth, I have consulted the Collegium, and we agree that, although our laws states that only the Grand Duke can declare war, the Grand Duchy will provide any assistance that are in our possibilities to the Imperials. That's all for now." with these last words, the Premier left the podium with the member of the Collegium, as the room buzzed with flashes and screamed questions.

The 4th Fleet arrived at the Suez, well ahead of the 6th and 7th Fleets. Ramius had been kept up to date on the war that had now broken out. While his orders to get the supplies and engineers to Istanbul hadn't changed, he was told to proceed to Istanbul at his own discretion. Though Monaco-Ville-Nice made life a bit easier for him when they sent Byomandy's fleets to the bottom.

"Alright now the time, the 4th is going to make a straight dash to the Aegean then though the Bosporus and on to Istanbul. Expect hostile action from the warlords and I want the Harriers on stand by, loaded with anti-air ordinance. Have the Stingray take point and the other ships stay alert. Our priority is getting to Istanbul, and not engaging the enemy." Ramius ordered.

"So what happens when we get to Istanbul?" Jintao asked.

"We'll wait for further orders there. We're not a battle fleet so lets not go looking for trouble." The other replied.

"They've done what?!" Shouted King Edward, upon returning to Celatoria and being briefed on the situation.

"I had a bit of trouble believing it, too." said Prince Henry

"Why has this happened the day after I made an alliance with those blasted imperials?! James, send a message to the Imperials, tell them about what a mistake they have made! Those ships were full of troops on a peacekeeping mission to aid us! Oh, and ready all forces, we don't know where things are going from here. Inform MVN that the attack they made was illegal and unjustifiable and that as such we will not be joining the war on their side. For now, we are neutral. Tell the other monarchs the same, before they jump into an illegal war. Issue a general statement that any foreign troops, aircraft or ships that enter our territory, airspace or water without permission will be detained or destroyed immediately. "

Chancellor James Bentham responded "Yes sir. The media wants an official response, too."

"The young Prince here was in charge when this happened. Now would be as good a time as any to see how he handles the media under stress. Go, go, my son, get ready for it. Tell them our position."

---------

"Celatorian subjects, my father has given me the responsibility for this most important speech, as I was in temporary control when this occured..."

Later, after a long speech by the Prince.

".... War has broken out, but we are currently neutral. We offer our condolences to the innocent Byronmandian forces that lost their lives and strongly dissapprove of this act of Imperial agression. Trade is currently halted with MVN.

Despite no longer having Byronmandian assistance in Ixzara, our mission remains the same there. We shall continue to restore order and will at the earliest opportunity give control of the region to the Ixzaran people. In the newly founded Yugoslavia, we will continue to work with North Chicanan to keep order and distribute humanitarian aid."

---Imperial Council Chambers, Directia---

Councilor Clifford watched the announcement from Celatoria and scoffed with contempt. "Hmph, Bryomandy comes threatening to attack our forces and they expect us to just wait until we're attacked by yet another invasion force? Or to abandon those we agreed to aid to yet another warlord? And now they step back and claim neutrality? Ha those people know nothing of commitment."

Ashely spoke up. "They didn't say that Councilor, in fact they make a good point. I don't agree with it, I think they're wrong, but what IF those troops were peacekeeping forces and not an invasion force? And technically they do have that right, I've just reviewed a draft of the Vienna Charter and there is a provsion that member nations have no obligation to assist in a war in which another member was the aggressor."

"If they weren't an invasion force, they would have contacted us and offered to work with us. We've already secured a safe zone around Istanbul and have been taking in refugees. Hell our engineers there are already working with local civil engineers to construct permanent housing for those people. But no, instead they threaten to attack any and all foreign military forces in the region. The large number of troops, combined with their hostile language, I think they made their intentions quite clear. Invade, occupy and set up a puppet regime." Reeve said crossing his arms as he leaned back in his chair.

Next it was Councilor Lauderdale who spoke. "Reeve has a point, if Byromandy intent really was deploy troops on a peacekeeping mission, then they would have contacted all other nations involved, fact of the matter is they did not. Instead, they go an threaten to wage war on nations already fighting the warlords. We've done nothing more than provide food, medicine and security to the Istanbul District, and they threaten us with war? I think it's pretty obvious who they real land grabber here is. Standing with Monaco-Ville-Nice was the correct decision to make. When a man threatens to shoot you and then you see him walking down your block with a gun, don't just sit there and wait for bullets to come whizzing by your head. I see no fault in the course of action taken by Monaco-Ville-Nice, and I see no wrong in standing with them on this matter. By our very nature as a monarchy, even an constitutional monarchy, our very presence would have been reason enough for Byronmandy to attack us. And as Arlington said last night, we not abandon our responsibilities. War with their neo-conservative government was inevitable, better we stand up now, than wait till they have hundreds of thousands of troops sacking Istanbul."

"Agreed" Councilor Heidegger spoke up. "If Byromandy thinks they can just threaten and bully us around simply because we're new comers to the western international stage, they doing to find out the hard way what we are made of. If we were to back down to their threats, we would lose what ever credibility we have built up. They forced us into a corner."

Councilor Raines also added his thoughts. "They other thing is, while they spout off Ixzaran people this and Ixzaran people that, they uttler and completely fail to see that there is no Ixzaran people anymore. The Republic of Izxaran is gone for good. Colonel Kemal recognized and understood this when he asked for our protection. Without the central government the country completely disintegrated along ethnic, tribal and religious lines. Who are these 'Ixzaran people' that they speak of? Which ever warlord is willing to cooperate and be their lapdog that's who."

Alexandria, Monaco-Ville-Nice: Pharaoh Mark Antony had arrived back in Alexandria to take command of the Imperial war effort against Byronmandy. However first he headed to the Imperial News Networks major studio in Alexandria, where he was to appear on Face the Empire. Face the Empire is a political talk show broadcast across the Empire and the Region by INN and was the biggest political commentary show in the Empire. It was a natural fit for the Pharaoh to do an interview on Face the Empire before heading off to war.

Host: Your Majesty, it's a pleasure to have you here.

Pharaoh Mark Antony: Thank you, always easy to be here at INN.

Host: So I'm going to get into it if that's okay?

Pharaoh Mark Antony: I wouldn't have it any other way (Chuckles).

Host: So the Empire is now at war with Byronmandy, we've been joined by the Grangale Empire and the Grand Duchy of Veomo. However most notably the Kingdom of Celatoria has come out against this war, what are your thoughts on this.

Pharaoh Mark Antony: Well certainly Celatoria is a friend and still an ally of the Empire. We've had a long and storied history with the Kingdom of Celatoria and our disagreement over this doesn't change that in the Empires view. The Kingdom is certainly very free to have there own opinion on the issue and we are not about to hold anything against them if they do. However obviously there are some major disagreements on this issue that we both need to work out. The Kingdom believes the Byronmandians were peacekeepers, but if they were peacekeepers why did they head to Asia Minor amid threats and without informing other nations beforehand of there desire? The Byronmandian force sent to Asia Minor and eventually intercepted and destroyed was also far larger than any force operating in Ixzara. You don't need 5 divisions for a peacekeeping mission that has been launched along with threats of war. We feel by Byronmandys own admission that these divisions were sent to Ixzara with hostile intentions against our forces and our allies forces.

It would be near criminal of the Empire to allow 100,000 men and 2 fleets of Byronmandian soldiers within such close proximity of our troops in South Anatolia and our Protectorate of Cyprus with the Republic issuing such harsh statements and failing to contact the Empire directly in anyway. The Empire could not allow these forces in our own backyard, just as Byronmandy would no be allow Imperial forces close to there mainland. The Empire has had at least enough respect to not deploy our forces within Byronmandys sphere of influence, doing so would only increase tensions to the boiling point as they have here.

That being said the Empire supports Celatoria and North Chicanan's missions and our war against Byronmandy is not a war against there efforts. We obviously have no hostile intent towards Celatoria a long time friend and we have no hostile intent against North Chicanan. Both nations operations have nothing to do with our war with Byronmandy. We are at war with Byronmandy due to there aggressive stances towards Monarchies and there attempted deployment of a massive force to the Empires backdoor without so much as a wire to our embassy.

Host: Celatoria has called the Empires attack against Byronmandy illegal, care to comment?

Pharaoh Mark Antony: Well there is no international law body in the region, so the idea of illegal doesn't exist between nations. Did the Empire strike first? Yes. Did we act based off of hostile rhetoric from Byronmandy? Did we act because Byronmandy deployed fleets and 5 divisions off our protectorates coast? The answer is overwhelmingly yes. We responded aggressively to an increasingly rogue and openly hostile nation and protected the Empire.

Host: That's true, thank you for your time your majesty.

HMS Aswan, Port of Alexandria - Monaco-Ville-Nice: Admiral Sharm had been inquiring all day as to the whereabouts of the Byronmandian commanders Field Marshal Bedivere, and Admiral Scott. After interviewing many of the Byronmandian POW's, Admiral Sharm learned Field Marshal Bedivere was killed instantly when his amphibious invasion ship was hit by several missles and sunk. Admiral Scott was wounded in the bombing of his flagship and it is likely that he went down with the ship. The Admiral then wired this information to Imperial High Command which noted the loss of these bright commander but ultimately knew Byronmandy had many more bright commander in there ranks.

Mersin, Former Ixzaran Republic: General Pasha's forces had taken up positions outside the Mersin. General Pasha had gathered his entire main army in an attempt to make a counter attack that would throw the Imperial Marines back into the sea. Pasha's men however had been under brutal aerial assault from the 31st Imperial Air Corps, as well as carrier born aircraft from the 4th and 5th fleet nearly since there arrival to Mersin. Morale was sinking among his men, more and more the officers began seeing a 50 million solidus price tag above General Pasha's head as he would pass by. Whispers grew and grew as every bomb dropped by the Imperial planes exploded on his men and inflicted more and more damage on more than the physical state of his army.

Soon a group of Pasha's officers led by Colonel Khalil were talking decent from Pasha's ranks. General Pasha knowing of the 50 million solidus price tag placed on his head by the Imperials had become paranoid. Food tasters, massive amounts of bodyguards, and general mistrust of everyone were now his norm. General Pasha knew he had to act now or he risked losing his men to desertion and even lower morale. If he lost his army there would be no hope for him maintaining control of Southern Anatolia. He decided to act and called a meeting with his officers to outline his plan for the attack on Mersin. The officers made there way to General Pasha's command center nearly all of them conspirators helping Colonel Khalil. Even General Pasha's captain of the Guard was in on the plot. Entering in his command center he greeted them with a salute and they greeted him with bullets. Pasha was dead and the officers were now 50 million solidus richer.
