Prime Minister Lantingham was honored the First Minister got back to her so quickly. "First Minister San Lumen will remain neutral in this war and will not get involved unless our territory or any of our troops in Tunisia is directly threatened. I have spoken with King Jason and this is his position as well. Regarding Yugoslavia and Sarajevo my government would be glad to assist in the humanitarian effort. I look forward to working with you First Minister as well as your President. I am very glad you have accepted the offer to establish full diplomatic relations. I will announce our neutrality in an official statement shortly.'' The Prime Minister said. The Prime Minister and the First Minister talked a little while longer before the Prime Minister went to the Press Briefing room to deliver her statement. "Good Evening. I have just gotten off the phone with the First Minister of North Chicanan. Their government has announced they will remain neutral in the war that is brewing in the former Ixzaran Republic as will Celatoria. I have spoken with King Jason it his policy as well as mine to add our name too. San Lumen will remain neutral in this conflict. We ask those involved to lay down their arms and not go to war at present time instead we should all be helping to restore order in the former Republic in a peaceful manner. The people need help in restoring order and are in dire need of medical supplies, food, water and shelter. We ask that Monaco Ville Nice apologize for attacking a humanitarian vessel. We ask that other nations respect our neutrality and that includes the protectorate of Tunisia. I would also like to announce that my government will be assisting in the humanitarian effort in Yugoslavia and Bulgaria and will recognize them as independent nations.'' Prime Minister Lantingham announced as the press corp erupted with questions. Edited by San Lumen, Jul 31 2011, 05:59 PM.

Ramius and Jintao were on the deck of the Venator as she sailed though the Bosphorus, an EMB145 flew over the fleet and the two officers waived back. An hour later the 4th Fleet was docked at Istanbul, unloading her cargo. The four POWs were disembarked and taken to the district jail. The tension in the city was clear, and Ramius spotted several Rafales patrolling, armed with anti-ship missiles. He was told by high command to keep his fleet on standby and there was to be no shore leave until further notice. "We're not a battle fleet what do they expect us to do?" Jintao asked, leaning against a safety railing. Ramius casted his fishing line again before answering. The two officers were one one of the lower decks trying to relax a little. Some of the crew had set up several kiddie pools and lawn chairs on the flight deck. "Hell if I know, we were supposed to fight the warlords here, but now that war has broken out... who knows..." "Hey you remember that kid we had to babysit before heading out here? That prince?" Jintao asked. "Yeah? What about him?" "He's a Vice-Admiral not with his own destroyer fleet." Jintao replied, as he started to pull the line up on his crab cage. "Wow, he out ranks ME now!" Ramius quipped. "We'll have to send him a congratulatory letter." The two officers looked out over the sea, a dark and uncertain future was upon them, but that was just the way of the world. "These things happen..." as Ramius would say. --- Ataturk International Airport --- "Colonel, how long do you think till Bursa Air Base is operational again." Windamier asked. Bursa Air Base had been Kemal's headquarters before he was overrun by Colonel Sami. Recently the base had been retaken. "Hmm, maybe a few days to get the basics up and running, and a month to get it to 100%. Why?" The other answered. "We should move all military forces out of the city, with their rhetoric, I wouldn't put it past Byronmandy to bomb the city just because we're here." "That's a good idea. I sincerely doubt they care about the people here, collateral damage will mean nothing to them. They're no better than the warlords and they still try to insist that they were on a humanitarian mission? What humanitarian mission sends 100,000 combat troops? Kemal said. "Exactly, though it's a shame that counties out there will buy into Byronmandy's lies, hook line and sinker." The other replied. Edited by Grangale Empire, Jul 31 2011, 06:18 PM.

Helene was pleased with Lantingham's announcement that San Lumen would remain neutral in the conflict. Not that she wanted to force anyone out of conflict, but with two major kingdoms choosing humanitarian needs over war it was nice to see some states trying to stay above the fray. "Prime Minister, the Northern fleet looks forward to working with your nation in Yugoslavia and in the Sarajevo territory. I know Celatoria will appreciate the assistance as well. And I will also inform you at this time North Chicanan will recognize Romania as part of San Lumen, and look forward to working with your state in the future." Helene and the Northern government still had some concerns on Romania, but if San Lumen was on the up and up to stay out of affairs in Yugoslavia and Bulgaria - and stay out of the blasted war - then concessions would need to be made. After Lantingham's state conference with San Lumen television, she returned to the call with Helene, and Helene asked a simple question. "Any ideas how we get those two to knock it off?" |

(OOC: Just as an FYI for everybody, if you're going to be moving a lot of troops, it is best to make updated military maps showing the situation, like I have done in my last post. This will make sure that there are minimal technical mistakes and everything goes as smoothly as possible. They really don't take that much time, and they are very helpful. (I just use Microsoft paint) And also, to any curious nations, especially those from the first generation of Baradoz, this is not a "planned out" RP. It is "free form" and the future will bring what it wishes). |

Alexandria-Monaco-Ville-Nice: Pharaoh Mark Antony sat in the main command and control center in the Imperial High Command building in the heart of Alexandria. A massive map showed the various troop formations and there movements. An aid walked behind the Pharaoh and said "Have you seen President Wayne's speech?" The Pharaoh nodded. The aid stood expecting more of a response and said "Shall we issue a response?" The Pharaoh shook his head and said "No our bombs shall be our response.". The aid nodded and left and the Pharaoh got back to work with the High Command planning the knockout blow to Byronmandy. ...................................... HMS Aswan: Admiral Sharm found out that Byronmandy had sent there fleet after the Imperial fleet and was shocked. "What did they teach in there naval academy?" he thought to himself. In the Empire long ago naval strategy was changed to utilize the air force in an anti-shipping role and the naval boys were taught to play nice with the airmen and learn to respect them. They didn't have any deep seeded rivalry because naval commanders knew what came of the Empire anti-shipping missle tests. The naval commanders knew the Imperial Air Corps was there for support and due to these tests the Empire made sure each Imperial Air Corps division had a top notch naval aviation wing. The Byronmanders had clearly not learned much from the earlier destruction that the Imperial Air Corps had rained down on there fleets. He was still shocked that Byronmandy had sent there fleets. It was best case scenario for the Empire. Once war broke out the Grengale Empire and the Imperial Empire drew up a plan to destroy Byronmandy's navy. It hinged on the Byronmanders doing exactly what the two Empires wanted however, it other words it was a long shot. If indeed the Byronmanders took the bait and sent there fleets to attack the smaller fleets of Monaco-Ville-Nice it would be wholesale slaughter. For years Monaco-Ville-Nice had kept a smaller fleet than Byronmandy, was it because the Empire didn't value the navy or was it because they knew it would lead to Byronmandy's naval overconfidence? Any good admiral knew it was the latter. Receiving word that the 6th and 7th Grengale fleets along with the 3rd fleet of the Imperial navy the Admiral knew the time was close. These fleets along with the fresh 6th fleet, the 4th, 5th, 36th fresh of there operations in Ixzara and the admirals own 7th were linking up off Alexandria. The 4th fleet of the Grengale was reportedly making at all haste after delivering there supplies to the Empires forces in Istanbul. The combined fleets of the Empire now would outnumber Byronmandys fleets 9 to 8. It didn't stop there however. With the Empire putting a premium on the Imperial Air Corps having the ability to fight a naval battle as well as an aerial battle as shown at the start of the war the Imperial Air Corps was on the move. Admiral Sharm was informed that when Byronmandy's navy reached off the coast of Benghazi it was to begin....... ............................ Imperial Air Corps base outside Benghazi, Libya Protectorate of Monaco-Ville-Nice: Air Marshal Dyem was ready with his orders. The Byronmandian armada was fast approaching off the Coast. The attack was now to come that his men had waited all there lives for. He gripped his orders tightly and read them "By order of Pharaoh Mark Antony the following Imperial Air Corps divisions in the Protectorate of Libya 29th, 28th, 27th, 30th, 32nd, 34th, and 33rd are to begin there attacks on the Byronmandian armada at once. ....................... TU-22 M somewhere over the Mediterranean: Captain Ramses knew his mission was of the otmost importance to the Empire. 7 whole Imperial Air Corps divisions had been orderd to hold while the Byronmandian armada was first mobolized. For his crew it was torture. They, the men who had sunk 2 Byronmandian fleets earlier had to sit behind the Imperial Armies curtains of SAM batteries and wait. The waiting was over however and the time was now, he had his orders. All 7 Imperial Air Corps divisions in Libya were launched the TU-22 M supersonic bombers first, following them were the fighter escorts the Mig 35's and Su-37's. They were all headed straight for the Byronmandian Armada confidently charging off there coast to "Easily" defeat the "smaller" Imperial Navy. It was a short trip for the supersonic bombers who reached firing distance for there KH-22's. By now Byronmandy knew they were coming and launched there own fighters. That was for the Imperial Air Corps fighters to deal with however, the Captain was focused on his mission. The mission lay about 200 miles away only visible on the TU-22's radar. The TU-22's had been given strict orders to target Byronmandy's carriers and battleships. The thought being to not give there planes a place to land. As before kh-22's were launched at Byronmandian ships. Thousands of KH-22's were launched, however the TU-22's had to hold on target when launching and several were hit by Byronmandian planes while the Imperial Air Corps's fighters engaged in a massive dog fight with them. So many missles were launched however at the Byronmandian flagships that the attack was bound to be a success. That was the problem the Captain thought about old school naval thinking. A few missles that cost a few million dollars could destroy a flagship that cost billions. The Empire understood this, Byronmandy did not it seemed. The Byronmanders were ready and intercepted many of the missles. The missles traveled 2 times the speed of sound however, clearly nowhere near all could be stopped. Flagships took the brunt of the assault hit by nearly all the missles that came through there naval defences. It was the same as before, capital ships exploding and burning. Capital ships as big as city blocks burst into flames and exploded in brilliant red and orange because of missles as big as SUV's. Simple economics had led the Imperial Military to changing there naval strategy, why sink billions into weapons systems that were so vulnerable. Instead they built up there naval aviation to combat these weapons systems. Byronmandy's capital ships burned, exploded, and ultimately sank due to this simple economic formula. As the captain turned his TU-22 around he knew many of his comrades had been killed keeping there bombers on target until the last minute. It was an ultimate sacrifice to destroy the enemies major capital ships. It was however not a sacrifice that would go in vein. He knew the Byronmandian Armada had been dealt a severe blow, now it was up to the 9 fleets of the combined Grengale and Imperial navy, whom had just begun stemming to the Byronamandian armda's location to finish them off. |

Prime Minister Lantingham was bombarded with questions. She did her best to answer them all. After a little while she returned to her lavish office as she didn't want to keep the First Minister waiting and sat down in her brown executive chair. "I look forward to working with you as well. We'll be sending humanitarian aid into Bulgaria through the capital of Varna. In Yugoslavia we can send items through Slavonia. Your welcome to use our base in Trieste. To be honest First Minister I am really not sure. The only suggestion that I can come up with is to propose peace talks and a drawing up of a treaty of some sort. Also what is the proper way to address you?'' Edited by San Lumen, Jul 31 2011, 08:12 PM.

--- GIS Muspellheim --- "Enemy ship now within range of out guns!" A crewman reported. "Targets are the conning towers of the enemy carriers, lop off the heads of this hydra. OPEN FIRE!" Admiral Revil ordered. Amateurs, it's all going as planned... Revil thought. The massive 16in guns of the Muspellheim rotated to line up their shots. Above, Byronmandy's fighters attempted to assault the flagship, but the Rafales from the Nibelheim along with the escorting ships with their SAMs did their jobs. The Muspellheim was still over the horizon, the cannon shells would be undetected and would hit them before they realized they were under attack, unlike cruise missiles with their tell tail exhaust. The nine barrels belched out a huge fire ball and moments later a report came in that the conning tower of an enemy carrier have been obliterated. The barrels belched out fire around and a moment later a report came in that the flight deck of another carrier was on fire and she was listing to port. While the Byronmandy ships were focused on intercepting missiles, they were caught completely off guard by the undetected artillery shells, and shells the size of cars crashed though two of their carriers. Combined with the missile attacks of the Imperial Air Corp and the sudden bombardment from the Muspellheim, the carnage was total. Nobody expected anyone to still field a battleship, no one expected to face heavy naval artillery. By this time, the enemy commander realized what was going. Someone had a battleship over the horizon raining shells on top of them. Thar air attack grew more intense and more anti-ship missiles came their way. Most of the missiles were intercepted by the escorts but a few got though, and several destroyers were on fire. Then to Revil's horror a Byronmandy F-35 crashed though the bow of the ship, just forward of the No. 1 turret. No... they couldn't be...! Revil thought. But they were, without homes to land on, some of the F-35s went on suicide attacks on the 6th and 7th Fleets. To his horror Revil saw an F-35 fly right into a Sovermemny's super structure. The ship was torn apart by the explosion and quickly sunk. "Cerberus sunk!" "Dulfim sunk!" "Kaitos sunk!" Revil gritted his teeth, there wasn't much he could do about the suicide attackers other than have faith in the crews of the AA weaponry and the pilots of the Niebelheim. "Continue the bombardment, hit any ships within firing range!" Muspellheim's armor was designed around the "all or nothing" concept, it that only the vital parts of the ship would be armored. This made the ship's armor protection very efficient and the ship herself very tough to sink. The 7th Fleet tightened formation to create a denser anti-air umbrella. --- GIS Midgard, Flagship of the 6th Imperial Fleet --- Roughly one quarter of her Rafales were flying air cover, most of the anti-air protection being placed of the shoulders of the fleet's Takanami-class destroyers and their SAMs. The rest of the Rafales were loaded for anti-shipping strikes. A moment later the Rafales took off one their own strikes after the carnage carried out by the Tu-22Ms. On the bridge, Commodore Timoshenko listened to in comming reports and noticed that less Rafales came back than had left. The 6th Fleet was closing to bring the enemy ships within range of the the fleet's missiles. It was an aggressive tactic but one that would bring the full firepower of the fleet upon the enemy instead of relying upon air craft. By the time they closed, most of the carriers were fatally crippled, and the 6th opened fire on all the remaning ships that still fought. "Any fleeing ships, let them go." Timoshenko ordered. "Commodore, transmission from Musspelheim: beware, in comming suicide attackers." A crew man reported. "What?!" Just as he spoke he looked up and saw an F-35 rocketing towards the bridge. At the last moment a Rafale rammed the F-35, throwing it off course. "Load all Rafales with anti-air load outs! Tighten formation!" Timoshenko ordered. --- GIS Venator --- Ramius had been given orders to join the engagement to the south. The 4th Fleet steamed south at full speed. Despite that, arrived to see the aftermath of MVN's missile attack and the Musspelheim's long range bombardment. Jintao gently swore under his breath. "Target all enemy ships still fighting with the Mk, 47s." Ramius quietly ordered. "When the skies are cleared of their fighters, send out the helicopters and the other ships to pick up survivors." "Several of the enemy ships look like they're fleeting? Shall we pursue?" Jintao asked. "No let them go, we'll deal with the ones here, we don't want to go out too far and get isolated. Besides, I think enough people have died today." Edited by Grangale Empire, Jul 31 2011, 08:47 PM.

"Prime Minister we have extended an invitation to Byronmandy, Monaco-Ville-Nice and Grangale Empire to come to St. John's for talks to settle the matter once all sides put down their weapons. The invitation has also be extended to Veomo although we are not sure how involved they are in the matter. However, with Byronmandy suffering such a large naval loss, i don't see their new leadership responding to our calls for calm. As for the Imperials, they've made it clear they won't stop until Byronmandy does and I think we both can agree that may not happen yet. We are concerned about the waterways around San Lumen and Tunisia, and while we expect the San Lumen military to be high alert we are hopeful those sides will avoid any advances that threaten your water access. We will be moving the third Naval fleet to Trieste for refueling and allowing our military leaders, as well as Celatorian military folks, to meet and strategize the best way to address concerns along the Western Balkans. I know we plan to have 1,000 members of the second fleet deployed to Bulgaria along the border region tomorrow to help with projects there under the auspices of the Yugoslav government, as well as sending more supplies to the Sarajev region. As your state has direct links with Monaco-Ville-Nice, do you think you would be able to work channels to find a suitable recourse to stop this conflict? I feel we could work on Byronmandy although they have recently replaced their government. However, I think Secretary Adair still holds office and I can speak with him on state matters." |

TO: North Chicanan Government FROM: Imperial Council of the Grangale Empire SUBJECT: St. John Talks We have received your invitation for talks in St. John. This was not a war we wanted and so, we are more than willing to sit down at the negotiating table and work out a peaceful solution to both this war and to the matter of the former Ixzaran Republic. However as previously announced, we will only negotiate if the Grand Duchy and Monaco-Ville-Nice agree to do so as well, we will not seek a separate peace. Councilor Arlington |

TO: North Chicanan Government From: Queen Cleopatra VII Philopator Subject: St. John Talks I have received your invitation for talks in St. John. I will say that the Empire is always willing to talk about ending the war, however Byronmandy will have to admit the error of there ways. In order to attend such talks the Empire will need Byronmandy to first put down there weapons, secondly retract all anti-monarchist statements. If Byronmandy truly does care about the well being of there soldiers, there citizens, and indeed there sovereignty they will accept the Empires fair terms. If Byronmandy does all of the above the Empire will gladly attend talks in St. Johns. |
