Resurgence of Byronmandy!

The last few months have been dark and lost days in the Republic of Byronmandy. Recent talks over the future of the region collapsed in Kasteel De Haar, SUP, much to the Republic’s disgust; while another alliance of dictators is being formed in Vienna. This seemingly minor event snowballed into a group of problems and unrest throughout Byronmandy. The people were unsure of what direction their nation would be taking and what the future would hold.

When elections were approaching, a stunning announcement came from the President, Roger Philippe. He voiced his thoughts and talked of how much he loved his country before saying that he will not seek another term in office. Roger Philippe has served Byronmandy for 10 years, being elected to two terms. He has been called one of the nation’s greatest Presidents, and he is sure to go down in History as one of the most important public figures. He said that his main reason for stepping down is so that he may retire to his farm in Andalusia.

This event created a large fracture in the ruling Republican party, of which the president was a member. While in office, Roger Philippe had managed to keep the oversized party together, but after his departure, it was certain that it would split in two. One of the new parties was the Neoconservative party of Byronmandy. It was made up of the more patriotic, hawkish, and ideological of the former Republicans. The other party to emerge from the Republican collapse is the Libertarian Republican party. They tend to be more realist and non-interventionist and always stick to the constitution. And then of course there is the Union Liberal Party that is a solid left leaning party, unlike the two other right wing parties. It is often called the “worker’s party” and believes in more care for the poor and more power to unions.

When elections came, it was unsure which party would emerge victorious. A split and possibly deadlocked government was a major fear among many. In the end however, it was the Neoconservatives that racked up the most seats, gaining the majority in both the Chamber and Parliament, and the Presidency. The 2011 elections have been marked as a landslide victory for the new neoconservative party, and now Byronmandy can move on and once again become a leading power in the region.

Alexander Wayne, a 34 year old Neoconservative, won the Presidency with 64% of the vote. He will be the youngest president that the Republic has ever had, and his many neocons have high hopes for his future. He is overly tall and thin, standing an intimidating 6’4”. He graduated from Lisbon University with a masters degree in Political Science, and was soon elected into Parliament. After a brief time in office, he accepted the position of President of Ajaccio College and eventually founded his own neo-con think tank. He has wrote an astounding 15 books on History, Politics, and Philosophy over his lifetime so far, and has gained numerous literary awards in the process. By the time of the Presidential election, he was a well known man who controlled one of the most influential political organizations in the Republic. Not many people thought he would actually win, but yet he still managed to become president with 64% of the vote.

Now that the troubling internal issues have been resolved in Byronmandy; the Republic is set on a path to once again become the region’s leading democracy and a major hub of business and culture.
