(This takes place around mid-day the day after the conference in Vienna.) King Edward I of Celatoria had returned to Celatoria the previous day to the news of the war between Byronmandy and MVN. Now he was returning to San Lumen, leaving his Son, Prince Henry, once more in charge of the country. He was to meet with King Jason in Florence. As the jet touched down, the King was stirred from his thoughts, which had been very much still on the war taking place. In what seemed like only a few minutes he was at the building where the meeting was to take place. He stepped out of the armoured car he had travelled in and was taken inside. |

King Jason Von Habsburg was waiting in the lobby of Palazzo Vecchio. He was honored King Edward has accepted his offer to meet. Just as King Edward entered Prince Scott, King Jason's 16 year old brother and heir to the throne happened to enter and noticed King Edward. "Your Majesty King Edward its an honor.'' Prince Scott said and King Edward shook his hand followed by King Jason. "Your Majesty may I present my younger brother Prince Scott and heir to the throne.'' King Jason said. "Pleasure to meet you.'' Prince Scott said. "Scott why don;'t you and your sister help get tea prepared for our guest.'' King Jason asked of his brother. "Sure big bro.'' Scott said as he headed to the kitchen. "Your Majesty thank you so much for accepted the invite to meet. My father told me so much about you and I thank you for your condolences. The Kindgom of Celatoria and San Lumen enjoy a very strong friendship and I wish to continue that relationship.'' Edited by San Lumen, Jul 31 2011, 08:19 PM.

"Certainly, I am sure that a disruption in relations between our two nations would not happen easily. " The two monarchs entered a meeting room. "I must confess, King Jason, that I had come here partly with the intention of convincing you to remain neutral in MVN and Byronmandy's war, but it seems you have already reached this conclusion, which I am glad to hear. We should probably begin discussions, for, given the situation at the moment, there is little reason to waste time. What I propose is that we sign a free movement agreement similar to that which Celatoria currently has with Byronmandy and possibly a free trade agreement, too." |

"I believe a free movement agreement is a very good idea King Edward and I would certainly be in favor of it.'' King Jason said as Prince Scott reentered the room with one of royal butlers helping to carry in tea and scones. "Why thank you Scott.'' King Jason said. King Edward thanked Prince Scott and commented on his charming personality and that someday he'd make a great King. "No problem big bro and thank you Your Majesty.'' Prince Scott said in response. "I'll leave you to your discussion.'' Prince Scott Von Habsburg said as he left the room. "Regarding a free trade agreement I'm in favor of fair trade as opposed to free trade. What are your thoughts regarding fair trade? Also regarding an emergency meeting of the Vienna Alliance I;m in favor of it.'' King Jason asked taking a sip of tea. "An emergency meeting has been called?" Said King Edward, "So that's what my Chancellor's plan was. It seems the sensible thing to do, I suppose. I do wish he would inform me of these things, though. I have no problem with fair trade, although if we could settle for something between the two I would prefer it. Maybe a treaty that also removes some border checks on goods for their easier movement? Or imposes protective tariffs on goods being moved between our two nations only when the price of goods is below a the level at which they can be profitably produced inside either nation, with free trade being in operation otherwise? Or maybe both of those? I would certainly favour a treaty which has both. I would hope to move towards greater trade by any means. I think that something along those lines could offer the best of both fair and free trade, for we will gain everything and lose nothing. Do you agree?" |

"That sounds quite reasonable Your Majesty. I could definitly agree to both those terms. I also thank you for comments regarding my younger brother Scott. I'm sure that means a lot to him. He considers you his hero and looks up to you as well as me.'' King Jason said taking another sip of tea. |

"Thanks to my ever-thoughtful Chancellor, who has provided me with it, I have the wording of a pre-prepared treaty to that effect with me, as well as numerous others to cover all eventualities." Said King Edward. He withdrew from the small case he had brought with him a document.
He handed the document to King Jason to read over. While King Jason read over the document, King Edward spoke "Regarding your brother, he seems a most amiable fellow, I am certain that when my Son Prince Henry, who at this very moment is managing the affairs of Celatoria, eventually takes the throne, you and he and your brother Scott will continue to keep Western and Central Europe the stable place that your father and I tried to make it." Once King Jason had finished reading the proposed treaty, King Edward spoke again. "Regarding a treaty on the free movement of people, I see little reason not to speak with Byronmandy when a more stable time comes of having your nation sign onto the existing treaty that is in place. Free movement is, after all, the aim, and if your people are free to move withing three nations, then surely it is all the better. It would require several small changes to the treaty, but I do not think anything major would be needed." |

"I see nothing wrong with the document it takes care of many of the concerns I have regarding free trade. I would see no problem with adding my signature to it. I'm glad you think so highly of my brother. He's a good guy. I'm proud to call him my brother. He's quite knowledgeable and is wise beyond his years. He sometimes advises me. You be surprised how good his advice can be sometimes." King Jason said as King Edward laughed slightly but in agreement with King Jason as well. ''Your Son Prince Henry is a very amiable fellow as well. He has an amazing father to learn from and he'll make a great King. |

"Well, it appears that we have more or less reached an agreement here" said King Edward, putting his signature on the document of the trade agreement. "I am certain that our governments can work out the details of the agreement on the movement of people, possibly with Byronmandy, when the time is right. Anyway, it appears that it is more or less time for us both to head to Vienna. Would you care to travel together? We can discuss matters on the way." |

"It appears we have.'' King Jason said as he signed the document. ''Your Majesty I would like for you to help protect our troops from Byronmandy's forces. I fear that even with the statement from Secretary of Defense Regina Bates an attack could still happen. The mere thought of losing my younger brother and thousands of others in an attack on this fine city is too horrible to think about. I respectfully ask for your Army's and Air Force's protection at this time for offensive purposes as our army is quite small and would stand little chance against Byronmandy's army. I also worry that with Byronmandy's anti monarchist viewpoint they will take this action the wrong way. If only my father were here. He always knew exactly what to do. '' King Jason said as he got slightly emotion at the thought of war and about how much he missed his father. King Edward's response though put him in better spirits. After pulling himself together like a King should King Jason spoke again. " would be prudent for us to discuss this in more detail on the way to Vienna. '' Edited by San Lumen, Aug 1 2011, 10:38 PM.
