King Edward spoke "I propose that if Ixzara must be split, and Byronmandy must be excluded, it is done so between Grangale, my own nation of Celatoria and, if they wish to serve as protector, North Chicanan, for we were the only three nations that took meaningful action to restore peace and order in the region.

I mean no offense, but with the situation as it is, I do not believe that either of the leading nations involved in this war should be given this responsibility.

I will say, too, that when such a split is made, it must be done with the utmost care, so as not to split up ethnic groups unequally between each area. To do so would be to guarantee that the region is immediately destabilised. This must also only be a temporary thing, the former Ixzarans must be given a vote on their future at most five years from now."

King Jason mulled over the proposal made by King Edward and then spoke.
"I find your proposal to be a good one and that it be temporary. However I think five years is too long. I would suggest at most seven months from now for a referendum to be held."

"Agreed, five years was an absolute maximum. Regardless, this is an issue for the whole region, not just for monarchies, this should be discussed by all nations."

"What I meant by my statement was that seven months should be the absolute maximum as opposed to five years. You are right Your Majesty that this is a regional issue and not one reserved strictly for monarchies."

(OOC: I would love to discuss all of this too, but I'm not sure where I could. I guess maybe the peace conference that may take place in NC could aslo act as a region-wide conference on the future of Anatolia if anyone's interested).

(OOC: I was thinking what ever involvement Byronmandy would be be discussed in NC, I also like the idea of expanding the conference in NC to include what to do in Anatolia, since that's what set the war off to begin with.)

Emperor Julii thought for a moment over King Edward's proposals. "Major what do you think?" He finnally said looking over at Major Sari. "I think seven months may be too short, much of the infrastructure has been destroyed in many of the cities and it would take some time to rebuild. Leaving the cost and the task of rebuilding to the people may result in what ever newly formed states being bankrupted. Istanbul was quick and easy because it was a port city and many supplies were brought in though air and sea, that isn't so with the inland cities. Also, new officers for security forces must be trained. Many of the deserters who simply left their post can be persuaded to join new security forces, but there aren't many men to lead them. I would propose 1 year of protectorate status, while affairs are put in order, and infastructure is rebuilt." Sari thought for a moment if there was anything else to mention, before he spoke again. "I also think King Edward hit on something, in regards of a possible division of the land, currently the Grangale Empire, Celatoria, and Veomo for their efforts in keeping the Bosporus out of the control of warlords, have the most good will from the people. From what I've heard from refugees from the south, they are grateful that Monaco-Ville-Nice has struck a crippling blow to the warlords in the region, but little has been rebuilt in the south."

Major Sari then looked over at Queen Cleopatra, "I'd like to ask if Monaco-Ville-Nice would be willing to withdraw from Anatolia, if in exchange Byronmandy stayed out of the region? In effect aside from possibly North Chicanan, all the members involved in Anatolia would be members of the Vienna Alliance." Sari inquired.

Queen Cleopatra looked relativly satisfied with Major Sari's proposal. In the end did the Empire really care much about Anatolia besides that it was Byronmandian free? Not really. Most Imperial strategists did not like the idea of the Emprie "Over expanding" into Anatolia. However Imperial soldiers had fought hard for Mersin and the Queen was determined to keep a toe hold on that.

Queen Cleopatra then addressed the group of assembled monarchs " I do not object to Major Sari's proposal. Though, I do insist the Empire maintain contorl of Mersin and its suburbs. The rest of Southern Anatolia may be divided up amongst those here in the room with the exception of North Chicanan. That would work for the Empire. We keep Mersin and the rest goes to you.".

OOC: Sorry I wasn't on much today! Worked all day and then went out.

Major Sari nodded towards Queen Cleopatra. "That seems fair enough to me, you have split blood over the city."

Emperor Julii also nodded in agreement. "We've no issue with that either. It seems we have some points to bring to the negotiating table, hopefully who ever Byronmandy sends is a reasonable enough fellow."

Queen Cleopatra laughed a bit at Emperor Julii's comment before saying "True enough Emperor Julii. I hardly think negotiations will go anywhere if we have to deal with the usual neocon babble President Wayne normally spews. Hopefully they realize there situation and will be reasonable for once.".

King Edward spoke, "I don't really think that this talk is appropriate, Queen Cleopatra, for a serious meeting such as this. You have not spoken to the man, but have made assumptions as to his personality. I have, albeit briefly, spoken to President Wayne and I find him quite reasonable. His anti-monarchist stance is not as agressive as you seem to suggest and is, in fact, more anti-authoritarian than anti-monarchist. He makes a clear distinction in one of his books, I assure you.

Regarding Anatolia, I must insist that if they wish to serve, North Chicanan be invited to serve as a protector. They have maintained a calm, appropriate approach during this whole affair and have carried out their humanitarian mission admirably, for which they deserve representation.

I am also not too fond of how some parties seem to be using this meeting, intended for airing grievances, as a means of sharing the spoils of this unjustifiable war."
