King Edward spoke "I intend to stay, and I intend to bring a few more bodyguards into North Chicanan if their government will allow it. I will not carry a gun however, I am not a soldier. What you do is your business."

The Pharaoh smirked at the Emperor and pulled back his suit jacket to reveal a HK MP-5k before saying "You're not the only soldier here." in a friendly sarcastic tone.

The Pharaoh then looked at the other men and spoke "I'm glad we're all staying despite the risk. To leave now would be a terrible waste on all ends. We must however speak on the situation in the Grand Duchy now and it's possible instability. I hope all of you are with me when I say we must ensure the protection and the survival of the Grand Ducal crown."

At St. John International Airport radar station, a small dot carrying the code of the Grand Ducal Air Force was blinking on the radar screen just over the Channel, when it suddenly disappeared. A extremely anxious air traffic controller begun to attempt to contact the aircraft. No success on that...

"Charlie come here!! Quick!!" the traffic controller called for his supervisor. "I have no idea of what happened, I had it right here on the screen, a official plane from the Grand Duchy and it suddenly disappeared. It was all perfect, speed, altitude, everything it just poof" He said.

"Holy crap!!" Charlie couldn't believe it. Could it be some sort of malfunction or was it something more nefarious he was thinking.. "Quickly contact the air force base.. tell them to send someone to their last location. And last hope for it being just a equipment malfunction. Also inform the Veomese Embassy." (At this point is when ambassador Temkoy receives the message during the press conference)

"We should wrap things up with Bryonmandy at the conference. Wayne doesn't look like he's up for continuing the fight, and helping an ally get on their feet is more important. This assassination could be terrorism or the opening shot of a revolution or a coup. Prince Alexi is on good terms with the commander of the 4th Fleet, I intend to let the two work together if he comes to us for assistance." The Emperor said, as he took the assault rifle off the table and made it disappear into his coat. (OOC: He carries it in the same manner Clyde Barrow carried his "whippet guns")

"I've also sent what's left of the 7th Fleet into the Black Sea, we don't know what kind of ripple effect this will have on the Ducal navy. A carrier and a battleship just off his coast will keep Admiral Uzun from getting too adventurous. The 6th will stay in the Mediterranean and continue assisting with the blockade around Zion."

(OOC: I was a bit surprised to be in Villa Nairobi too, I was actually back at Villa Rosa. But No worries, let's say that I went to Villa Rosa and received a message to go to Villa Nairobi there.)

The Stadhouder listened to the men telling that they were to stay, he said 'I will not leave, I am not afraid either. This is a professional assasination, if anyone else had been a target the killers would not have waited until security was at a maximum. I think we are completely safe. So, I will not bring in any guards, soldiers, goons or guns.'

He thought for a moment and then added 'But I do think we should get an agreement as fast as possible, the faster we get Anatolia on its feet and the war into history books te better it is. You play a key role in that Pharaoh, you are the one in the position to make demands because of your victory in the war. However, a true winner is characterized by his lack of attitude, a true winner does not make demands. Slip the rope on president Wayne a bit. Give him a finger, I do not ask you to give the entire hand ofcourse, but make the step forward. You are the one holding the possibilities to close the gap and open the doors.'

'If bet that if you show good will the conference is over in no-time. If I am wrong ofcourse I owe you a bottle of the best Dutch Jenever.'

"You know, I'm curious, what do you all think if this explodes into a civil war?"

The Pharaoh nodded in agreement with Emperor Julii and said "Wayne is beaten no sense in carrying it out any further. So of course with the recent turn of events I will push for a quick resolution of the conflict between the Empire and the Republic. That being said I wont let outside factors or events dictate our demands for peace. We won't compromise simply for the sake of compromising, we've come to far for that."

The Pharaoh then turned to address the Stadhouder saying "I agree with you, obviously the Stadhouder was targeted specifically. This however has shown a great lapse in security and I'm not about to let some other copy cat crazy or separatist take a pot shot at me. After all who can we trust after this? So while I respect your decision Stadhouder, I'm far to pretty to take chances. (Several of the other men in the room laughed.).".

The Pharaoh then took another sip of whiskey before continuing "As said before Stadhouder, I will push for a quick resolution in the war. I feel we are all close to a draft in Anatolia so that shouldn't be a major issue going forward.". The Pharaoh then smirked a bit and began speaking in a sarcastic tone "I rather like my leaders with a little flare and attitude, more fun that way. However I won't seek to steal all the mans pride. I'll do what is best for the Empire and what is best for the future of the region, I will be open to compromise.". The Pharaoh then looked at the Stadhouder with an intrigued look "Dutch Jenever? Hmmm seems I win either way!".

The Pharaoh then thought on what Emperor Julii said and spoke "Civil war in the Grand Duchy is unthinkable. We should use any and all of our resources to ensure, protect, and support the crown of the Grand Duchy of Veomo.".

The President and Secretary Adair were in one of their private suites, talking about sports back home and other unimportant issues when John Ryan, head of the Byronmadian Intelligence Agency walked in. These breaks were nice, but yet Alexander Wayne still had to get back to his countrymen sometime soon; if only to assure them that he doesn’t intend to stay in North Chicanan forever.

John Ryan was fairly new at his job of intelligence director at the BIA. Wayne had just appointed him before he left for this conference. Ryan had just arrived a day or two ago and was being briefed on the conference’s happenings thus far. The President had personally requested that he attend due to his, (as well as his Agency’s), boatload of information concerning the war in Africa and the alleged MVN war crimes.

When Ryan walked in, neither the President nor the Secretary of state could’ve imagined what came next. News of the Grand Duke’s assassination was stunning and awful. Such acts of violence and cowardice were unquestionably evil. Immediately afterward, thoughts began to pour into the President’s mind on just why such a thing would happen. It was possible that it could be some Ukrainian National or some paid hit man for one of the Anatolian warlords, but he could never be sure.

“Has anyone claimed responsibility yet?” said the President to Ryan.

“No. Not that we know of. This is extremely odd however. Usually if it is some organization they immediately boast of what they’ve done. It only leads us to imagine that perhaps there is more coming.” replied Ryan.

“Very well,” said Secretary Adair. “Mr. President,” he said, “We don’t know if this was meant only for the grand duke or if this is some terrorist organization trying to take advantage of having all the world’s leaders in one spot. Perhaps it would be best to delay the conference and return to the Republic for the time being.”

“No,” said the President. “That is not okay. I understand your concerns, but we are at one of the most important conferences of our age. Peace in Africa is far more important than anything else at this point. I am more than capable of taking care of myself,” he said as he lifted a Webley Mk VI revolver out of his suitcase. “We need to stay and finish this meeting. Peace must be achieved.”

Then Ryan began to speak again, “Sir, it appears that most of the guests are meeting in Villa Nairobi as we speak to discuss what to do next. We’re not quite sure what they’ve decided, but I’ll be sure to let them know that the Byronmadian delegation intends on staying.”

“What?!” said the President, “This meeting is about to be all about the war between us and MVN, and then they decide to think about ditching the conference without even consulting us?” The President said as he sighed with a somewhat confused smile on his face.

“Nonetheless,” he continued, “I’m sure that they will decide to stay and finish all that we’ve been working for. This is an awful tragedy, but leaving the conference would only make it even more costly. In the meantime, send all help that we can to the Grand Duchy. Ryan,” he said, looking toward the intelligence chief, “Get your deputy of intelligence to Baru Hurezumsa. Offer all of the agency’s help to the Duchy. We need to help them coordinate their efforts and find this killer before something else happens.”

"I agree with the Pharaoh that civil war in the Grand Duchy is something that must be prevented and that we must use collective resources to preserve the crown of the Grand Duchy of Veomo. I believe that this heinous act was carried out by someone wishing to sabotage this conference. We must show radical groups that diplomacy prevails over violence. I am open to compromise as well but to a point. I am certain peace can and will be achievied with Bryonmandy.'' King Jason said as the other monarchs and the Stadhoulder looked very impressed with the young king's charisma and knowledge. King Jason knew his father was smiling down and was pleased.

King Edward began "I agree that civil war in Veomo must be prevented, but we must fully consider the issue before we jump to action in the aftermath of this dreadful event. Is there an immediate heir to the throne to assume it? If not, what becomes of crown?..."

He sighed, this issue was far too large to discuss so informally with no forethought, he quickly moved on.

"I feel that Celatoria's stance on the recent war has been made clear, I shall be silent on the issue.

I will say, though, that I feel a fair resolution seems likely with the terms of peace almost exclusively in your hands, Pharoah. If past experience is anything to go by, your judgement is sound."
