The Plane ride had been quite relaxing for the Queen and she hoped for her guests as well. She made sure the plane ride was as comfortable as possible for her guests, playing the role of charming hostess. She had her in house chef on Imperial Air Corps One cook each leaders favorite dish, as well as making sure each leader never had an empty glass or a dull moment. The Queen made sure the talk was light, with much of it being about the recent Chicanan open. The talk was also about family with the Queen showing her softer side and talking about her and the Pharaoh's twins. She also enjoyed listening to the other leaders talk about there personal lives and listened very interested to there stories. It brought home to all aboard the plane that they were all very much real people and not simply leaders of men. Once Imperial Air Corps One landed in St. Johns the leaders and there aides gathered there things and they made there way to the tarmac. Waiting for them outside was a throng of reporters, photographers, well wishers, a few protesters, and the North Chicanan welcoming committee. Praetorian Guards lined the ladder down to the tarmac as Queen Cleopatra made her way to the door of Imperial Air Corps One. As she stepped outside into the light, she smiled and waved to the camera wearing a beautiful maroon Dior dress. The camera's flashed and people clapped though there were a few boo's as the Queen made her way down the ladder to the North Chicanan welcoming committee. When Queen Cleopatra reached the bottom of the ladder she heard a bit of commotion coming from behind her and she turned to see what it was about. To her surprise she notice the Pharaoh walking over to her after just getting out of the cockpit of an Imperial Su-37. The Pharaoh wasn't much of a flier but he didn't hesitate to catch a ride from one of his friends in the Imperial Air Corps, playing navigator the whole trip. The Queen was totally surprised to see the Pharaoh and said "What are you doing here?" the Pharaoh who was in an Imperial Air Corps flight suit smiled and said "If you think for one minute I would miss rubbing a single thing in President Wayne's face you're crazy.". The Queen smiled and embraced and kissed the Pharaoh as the cameras flashed with the images they captured likely to be front page news shoots the coming morning. The couple, surprisingly paired by the Pharaoh's surprise appearance made there way over to the President of North Chicanan. They both shook hands with the President, warmly greeting him. The Queen said to the President "Pleasure to meet you Mr.Fillweed. I'm terribly sorry about the problems our countries have had the past few weeks. I do hope we can repair any harm our relationship has had while the Pharaoh and I are here in North Chicanan.". |

The Grand Duke of Veomo enjoyed very much the flight on board of the Imperial Air One, though he was a great supporter of utility over luxury. As he stepped down to the tarmac, following the Queen, and the sudden arrival of the Pharaoh. As the flashes of the reporters freezes to the history those moments, the Grand Duke shake hands with President Fillweed: "Good day Mr. President, it's a true honor to be here. I confess I was a bit worried due to the unfortunate accident with the northern flight, but I am rejoicing that this meeting can be carried on." |

The landing of Imperial Air Corps One brought to North Chicanan the leaders of the Vienna Alliance, and a bit more of a staggered meeting of leaders from the region. Jason and Aida tried to meet with each group for several minutes before the next delegation arrived - both out of showing proper resonance for those in attendance as well as making sure the Pharaoh of Monaco-Ville-Nice would arrive alongside his Queen rather than separately. Jason spoke first with the young monarchs from Celatoria and San Lumen. He was surprised to see how young King Jason was in person, and enjoyed chatting with King Edward. "To both states, we look forward to working with you during this conference to bring a new level of stability and security to the region. I hope this is only the beginning of a long-standing and fruitful relationship between our states," Jason said and both Kings entered the waiting limo for their ride through St. John's. Aida noticed the landing of a second Imperial plane and with it a chance to officially meet the Imperial rulers. Aida and Jason met with the Pharaoh and the Queen after their photo-op. As the nation loves a royal affair the pictures of the Imperial couple were most clamored for. Jason spoke for a minute with the Queen, thanking her for their desire to fix any issues in the dealings of the state. "We are very pleased both of you were able to attend this conference, Your Majesty, and we certianly look forward to working with you on the issues of the Anatolia. Do know that we look forward to building our relationship with the Imperial state and thank you for your support during this unusual time for the state." Jason then met the Grand Duke of Veomo with a firm handshake while Aida spoke with the Queen and Pharaoh. "Even in times of crisis for our people, we are always committed to the values of peace for the people. I do hope that this conference is able to bring peace to those in the Anatolia region who have sought to change their state for the better," Jason said to the Duke in response to his remarks, and Aida came to meet the Duke as the five walked to the awaiting limo that would see the Imperial and Veomese leaders off to the conference. The Grangale Empire would be the last to disembark from the plane and Byronmandy was still to land before Jason was himself to head to the conference. Aida chuckled at Jason as he fixed his hair and commented that today would be the first day of a new era in regional politics, giving him a kiss on the corner of the mouth. Jason agreed, and hoped Helene was ready for what would come next. ---------------------------- At the Old Capital Estate, four villas along the lakefront were readied for the royals, presidents and leaders who would be staying for a couple of days. Each building was meticulously detailed to show the finest of Northern craftsmanship and detail while giving all the benefits of home. The two democracies would share Villa Rosa, situated to the north of the lake. Like each villa, the building was two stories tall and outside the reception entrance each delegation would have a whole floor to themselves. The United Provinces were situation on the first floor, Byronmandy on the second. This building was considered the most technologically advanced, as it was home to NorTel's wifi system for the whole Hillcrest region. Touchscreen entryways also graced the reception entrance, allowing delegates to see plans and digital maps, news, scores and stocks from around the region. To Rosa's left and following the lakefront south was Villa Prane, which would house Northern delegates as well as the Grangale Empire on the second floor. The more classical villa, it was shaped to reflect a traditional cabana and was more open-air than the other three in use. The openings allowed for a more natural environment inside the central patio. The slightly more opulent Villa Narobi would host the Veomese contingent on the first floor and the Imperials on the second. Unlike the other three villas, Narobi was host to a massive solarium on the second floor as well as two rooftop pools. The grandure of the villa was paid for through donations to the Estate, which sought to enhance all 15 villas along the lake for public use as well as conferences. The final building in use, Villa Acadia, would house the San Lumen delegates on the first floor and the Celetorian delegation on the second. The building had more old-world charm, utilizing more woods and stone than the other three, and created a cozier atmosphere as soon as one walked into the reception hall and it's massive fireplace inside. All four Villas were a minute walk from the Cantonal Hall through a covered pathway that allowed the delegates more privacy as they would go back and forth during the day. (ooc: I guess a quick explanation: Once upon a time my state was Chicanada and we were a Canton-based system. Went CTE on the boards and went away for 5 years. Rejoined and chose to rebuild the old legacy. So each Villa is named after a previous Canton that did not make it as one of the counties of the new state. Yes, I named a Canton "Narobi." I named on Washinsan, what of it? The Cantonal Hall and the Assembly are leftovers from the Chicanan capital, Cana. And now you know...a bit of the story ;)) |

(OOC: Well I picked the wrong day to be gone all day...) While Emperor Julii was able to relax and have a few drinks with the other monarchs, random small talk with Queen Cleopatra, more stories of his great-grandfather from King Jason, and exchanges of jobs well done with the Grand Duke regarding the dismantling of the black market network. However in the back of his mind he was already putting a few things in order. Major Sari still accompanied him, if this conference was about Ixzaran, then it would be appropriate to have the voice of an actual Ixzaran present. There was several things he wanted to get out of this conference, and he wanted to make sure he a complete mental to-do list before even stepping off the plane. He stepped off the plane onto a red carpet flanked by Colonels Kiryu and Almathea. "You two are on the clock..." He whispered and the two snapped to attention and followed him down the carpet. He noticed the instant, yet subtle change in demeanor and inwardly smiled. Almathea wore a smile but her smile and demeanor were what one would describe as a femme fatale. Kiryu's demeanor became somewhat like that of a samurai following his lord, a dangerous bodyguard who would not let anything come to threaten his master. He wore a hard expression that seemed to say "try it, see what happens..." Unlike the Vienna Conference where Emperor Julii wore the friendlier face of the Empire, this matter was all business. Emperor Julii understood this conference would be akin to a high stakes game of poker. Emperor Julii walked down the carpet in a confident stride, and as he approached the president, held out his hand with a smile and said: "Mr. President, it is Our pleasure to meet you in person. You have my condolences for the lives lost in that tragic accident. I trust Our soldiers provided the proper care to Lucrezia and Erin Beaumont? |

After arriving a Villa Rosa both the Raadspensionaris and the Stadhouder thanked the driver for the 'short and musicless, however excellent ride' as the Stadhouder concluded. As the driver drove away he still did not understand what had just happened to him. Two of the mighties men of a nation speaking to him like equals... Although it being a weird experience he liked it and he could not wait to get home and tell his wife all about it, this would be a story to tell his grandchildren one day. While the Stadhouder and the Raadspensionaris stepped out of the car a young woman approached them, she introduced herself using flawless Dutch. The Stadhouder shook her hand and replied in English, however suddenly he realized what had happened. '...Hé, dat is Nederlands!* Where did you learn how to speak Dutch so well?' 'Well sir, most people fled to the east after Holland became occupied by the French. However, my great great grandmother moved to North Chicanan. Long story short, here I am.' 'Fascinating! She must have been a wise woman, making such a good choice. These islands are a very good place to live.' the Stadhouder replied. 'She was sir, however this is not about my grandmother. I am here to show you around Villa Rosa...' After explaining and showing everything both men sat down and drank a cup of coffee. 'Johan, how does the young generation call this again? Something like, utterly awesome dope shizzle brutal dude... right?' the Stadhouder said while zooming in way too far on a picture of the Raadspensionairis picking his nose in some tabloid on a 46 inch plasma screen. 'See they have you too!' he added with an evil smile. 'I am not a skilled user of the vocabulaire the youngsters use nowadays, and I certainly do not like it. What is wrong with plain Dutch or English? And will you put that away, I do not like those tabloids in their normal size, let alone a 20-fold magnification' the Raadspensionaris said. 'Come one Johan you look great, handsome as ever I must say! Besides we all are in tabloids like these, the people love to see us doing embarrassing things to ourselves and others. It tears down the illusion of us being special or anything.' 'Very true, but stay out of my nose!' the Raadspensionaris said with a poorly acted anger. *** 'Ok Johan, business calls. What do we have on the agenda?' the Stadhouder asked after they finished their coffee. 'Well the ambassador will be arriving shortly, I can not wait to see him again. Maarten den Hollander, our most beloved friend... I hope he will not make any problems. Anyways, we wait for him and then we can see the area a bit maybe. It is truly remarkable. And by then it most likely will be time for dinner I suppose.' The Stadhouder listened and said 'So we do not have to hurry today, I like that. Stop worrying about Maarten, you know he is an excellent politician and he has exactly what he wanted now. Maybe we can make a stroll later this afternoon, with a bit of luck others will do the same. We could have some small talk with some of the leaders, or some of the real people around here. I prefer real people you know, us politicians are not even close to being real.' the Stadhouder said speaking his mind while thinking deeply. Johan van Oldenbarneveld laughed while shaking his head, he was never really able to understand the Stadhouder let alone to read what he was up to. At one moment the man seemed a clown and an idiot, the next he could be the strong leader to whom few dared to stand up. Problem was that you were never sure which one of the two you were speaking to. One thing was sure though, the policitian continuesly failed to understand him while the guy in the street loved him. 'Just let us wait for the ambassador sir, I am going to find a shower. If I do not return within an hour I am probably lost.' the Raadspensionaris joked. 'You let let these walls draw a map for you, told you this CRIB IS GANGSTER! Am I saying it correctly now?!' The Raadspensionaris did not react and tried one of the walls. Indeed he was sent directly to the shower, which was already warmed and running when he came close with the type of lighting and music he had chosen from a huge list. He thought The man is right, this is pretty gangster... stop this nonsens... this is pretty good! * Translation: "...Hé, dat is Nederlands!" = "...Hey, that is Dutch!" |

(OOC: I loved that post to by Celatoria and the Grangale. I like yours as well SUP! Shows a different side of the Raadspensionaris and the Stadhouder.) The Pharaoh and Queen were riding in one of the two limos for the Vienna Alliance's leaders with the Grand Duke of Veomo and the Emperor of the Grangale Empire. The convoy of Northern police cars, black SUV's, and black limo's raced down the streets of St. Johns. The streets were blocked off with barricades with police standing guard as onlookers cheered and held national flags of the countries of the conference. The Pharaoh gazed out the window, looking at the onlookers as they sped by. "Glad to see people are happy we're here. I've never been to North Chicanan before, it appears to be quite the charming quaint country." the Queen and other leaders all agreed. The Pharaoh then went into the cooler in the back of the limo and found a chilled bottle of Dalmore 64 Trinitas scotch "Hmmmm this looks interesting. This scotch is $150,000 dollars a bottle and aged since the 1800's. One of the highlights surely of this trip! I nearly forgot scotch was made in the north of this country.". The Pharaoh smiled and grabbed a glass and poured himself a large glass. He offered it to the other leaders once he was finished and they both seemed eager to try the local scotch. ................... Towards the end of the bottle the ride ended and the limos and there escorts arrived at the Old Capital Estates. The Limo first dropped off Emperor Julii and his aides and escorts at Villa Prane. The Pharaoh, Queen, and Grand Duke all bid the Emperor farewell and made plans to visit him with him later in the evening. After dropping the Emperor off the limo then headed for the Villa Narobi, which will be holding both the Veomese and Imeprial delegation for the duration of the conference. Once the limo stopped and an Imperial Praetorian guard opened the door the Grand Duke, The Pharaoh, and Queen Cleopatra stepped out of the Limo. "This will do nicely" the Queen said while gazing upon the Villa Narobi. A middle aged man stepped out of the Villa Narobi and approached the Royals saying "Welcome majesties! This is Villa Narobi our most splendid villa. It is my duty to make sure your ever need is seen to while here in North Chicanan and to make sure this is your home away from home. I am Wiggins (OOC: The only name a butler should have.) your butler for your stay here. The Royals were happy to meet Wiggins and made there way around the Villa Narobi for his tour. "Not home, but this will do." the Queen said. The Pharaoh then said " Well wait until all of our luggage arrives on the Imperial transport. I'm sure this place will feel and buzz like Alexandria before we're through with it." speaking to the massive 747 transport that carried the Queens and Pharaoh's effects on trips abroad. After finishing the tour, Wiggins showed the royals to there respective floors and saw to any needs they had. ............................................... It was later in the evening and the Pharaoh had found his way into another bottle of Dalmore 64. The Pharaoh, several Praetorian's, and several Imperial Army officers were walking/stumbling around the grounds of the Old Capital Estate. The Pharaoh finally fell onto the ground in laughter as one of his best friends a Praetorian named Scipio tripped over a stick and fell to the ground drunk. The whole party laughed hysterically at the Praetorian Guards misstep. Once the laughter subsided they noticed a few men walking towards them but couldn't quite make out who they were. They were speaking a strange language that the men couldn't quite make out. One Imperial Colonel was listening intently and then said "They're speaking Dutch.". |

The Grangale Empire were the last of the Alliance to make their way from the Imperial flight, and Jason was a bit surprised after the previous rulers disembarkment that the Emperor seemed far more serious. Aida too was a bit shocked but had to stifle a laugh as Jason met with Emperor Julii at the end of the procession. "The pleasure is mine in this meeting, I am most pleased your state was able to attend this conference. I trust your knowledge on the Anatolian region will be most helpful in addressing the concerns for future redevelopment of the state. Lucrezia and Erin have returned home to Port Augustine with Lucrezia's husband and have spoke nothing but good things about the care your troops provided them during their trip back to San Lumen. We cannot thank your state enough for your assistance during this time and hope that this will begin strong relations between our states." Jason, Aida and the Empire's leadership then went to the limo where the Imperials and Veomese waited and Jason waved them off (ooc: and at this point Aida's comments come in). By now the Imperial liner had been moved into one of the hangers for care while a second Imperial flight would land shortly with the belongings of Queen Cleopatra and Pharoah Mark Anthony. The Byronmander flight was also expected shortly, and Jason look forward to meeting President Wayne for the first time. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In the Cantonal Hall, Helene and her staff went over plans for the next day. Since the first day should be more relaxing, the heads of state would be allowed a night in at the villas while the official state dinner would be the next night. She trusted that the leaders would enjoy a bit of Northern splendor before discussing the pressing issues of the state. The agenda was rather explicit and Helene hoped they would not be bogged down by internal debate and fighting - especially any snide remarks by the Imperials and the Byronmanders. She wanted the first day's focus to be on the current situation on the Anatolia. Keeping in mind Celatoria and the Grangales were present, she would allow them to lead discussion on the battles with the warlords while also looking to see how to end all conflict and begin the rebuilding process. She and Jason had decided in advance to offer the Second Naval Fleet, which was based in Podgorica at the moment, to help with humanitarian assistance again. The Third fleet was managing affairs well from Trieste (and Helene remembered she wanted to meet with San Lumen to propose an agreement to allow the Navy to maintain a presence there through a security agreement with them and Yugoslavia) and she hoped her second offer to help in the Ixzaran region would not be rebuffed as it was by the Imperials before. The second day she wanted to run more like a donor's conference. North Chicanan wanted Ixzara to be maintained in whole but knew the Grangales would be hard pressed to relinquish Istanbul so she hoped through pledging economic aid for rebuilding the state as a whole she could get a little headway on the issue. The day would also focus on the future of Ixzara, dealing with the need for future elections to determine the final makeup of the region and pushing for soverignty to be restored as soon as possible. The third day...if it got that far, anyways, was to deal with the Byronmander/Imperial War. She wasn't sure how'd she approach the topic but she wanted the issue discussed between the states and try to come to some agreement to prevent another conflict from spilling across the southern continent. Of course side meetings would occur, it would be the first time all the major states in the region would be in the same room. She hoped to use it to work with Celatoria and San Lumen to strengthen ties between their states as well as figure out what the flippin deal was with the Byronmander President. She'd pursue other goals if the need or opportunity arose. ------------------------------------------- As the delegates settled, Wiggins and Katrien Smit talked about their respective delegations. Idle chat between the help always settled nerves during a conference and both saw their roles applified due to extraordinary conference they were working. "I don't think I've seen that much clothing come in my life!" "James (Wiggins has a first name, of course!)! You know the Queen has expensive taste." "Very true but I'm glad she also brought her staff to set her dressing room. I'd never finish trying to set out so many outfits. How were the Provincial representatives, Kat?" "They were trying to meet me at my level, I think? I'm blaming that damn ambassador of theirs, already he's made the front page of The Nation and OK! due to his partying. You'd think he'd remember he's representing a state, not a celeb." "Ah Kat, maybe thats how they do politics in New Amsterdam." "I'd hope not...but after the Chicanan Open and seeing my countrymen again, I wouldn't be surprised,' Katrien chuckled as she looked in the distance. "Oh, it looks like we might have fireworks tonight after all!" "I doubt that, been too dry this last week." "No, look!" Wiggins looked over his shoulder and saw the Pharaoh near the National Greenhouse, and saw the Stadhoulder walking close by. "I do believe we need some popcorn, young Kat." "Nah, how bout some scotch." "Ah, thatta girl," Wiggins smiled as they watched the Imperials and the Provincials meet for the first time. While intoxicated. If Helene could see it, she'd...well, she wouldn't be surprised. Northern scotch is notorious for being strong. |

Emperor Julii and his two aides entered their lodgings for their stay in North Chicanan. The villa itself was quite nice and after a moment of scanning the room a man in a tux appeared around the corner. "Greetings your Majesty, allow me to introduce myself, my name is Geoffrey, and I shall be attending to you for the duration of your stay." he said. Emperor Julii noted that his tone of voice seemed to almost be of someone who'd rather be elsewhere, and simply nodded in response. The Emperor and his aides were getting settled in when there was a knock at the door, a moment later Geoffrey entered the sitting room followed by a man and a woman in Imperial Guards uniforms. "Lieutenant Misato Kusanagi and Sergeant Ricardo Batou, Bravo Team, 1st Imperial Guards, reporting." She said after she and Batou dropped to one knee. "At ease Lieutenant, where are the others?" the Emperor asked. "The other two are already posted at the door sire. We will be setting up in the next room over." Kusanagi replied. "Very good then, ah, well, go do whatever it is that you guys to then." Emperor Julii said. After the Guardsmen left he told his aides they could stand down and he looked around the rest of the villa. He noticed several lounge chairs in the balcony with a magnificent view of the lake. The chairs themselves were very comfortable and after a moment of fidgeting and getting the settings to exactly perfect he called for the butler. "Geoffrey!" A moment later the butler appeared, "You hollered your majesty?" he said in the same I'd-rather-be-somewhere-else tone he spoke in earlier. "Yeah, get me a few editions of the local newspapers." "Would there be anything else, your majesty?" "Hmm... you know a White Russian would be nice." A moment later Geoffrey returned with several newspapers and the drink. Emperor Julii wanted to try to get a feel for the people's opinions there and figured a good way to get a cursory look was by reading the local papers. He especially wanted to get an idea of the people's opinions on the Ixzaran situation and on the war. One thing he learned from his predecessor was that the opinions or rather the limits of a democratic leader can be gauged by the opinions of their general populations. |

King Dizhwar was settling back into the day-to-day operations of Darjistani politics after the meeting that created the Vienna Alliance. Surely, not attending the emergency meeting had hurt his image abroad, especially since it was the first of its nature for the newly formed alliance. However, he had at first seen little reason to attend the Northern Conference when the First Minister Helene Aremstrang's invitation reached his desk. A number of suns had set, and moons risen since the invitation was received. During that time it sat in his top desk drawer. Trying to find a reason to go was difficult, and jockeyed multiple times between priority, and non-existent in his mind, after all, Darjistan had no business in the Anatolia region, it had no interest, national, or even subconscious. However, the King had his own opinion, and since the invitation was extended to all the leaders of Baradoz, he eventually drew the conclusion, that it was his duty to participate in the affairs of the region, and even though Darjistan had no direct involvement in the current hot spot, it was closer than both, the black market affair, and the nuclear waste revelation in Nova Zembla. It wasn't long after these thoughts reached him, that he decided to fire up the Royal Darj, and make his way to North Chicanan. Leaving his nations' affairs once again to the State Minister Jawad Al-Enezi. He'd hoped he wasn't late to the party. ---------------------------------------- The four Bristol Hercules engines of the Royal Darj were delicately cutting through the crisp Northern air, the change in pitch could be heard by all aboard as the throttle was gently eased back in preparation for their final approach into St. Johns. "St. Johns approach, Darji One established on localizer for two-zero left." The air traffic controller responded to the call from the incoming Darji plane. "Darji One, St. Johns approach, cleared to land runway two-zero left. Exit when able, contact ground one-one-eight decimal three." The acknowledgement came through from the cockpit. The controller turned over to his coworker sitting beside him. "Funny, they usually inform us when official flights are coming in, I had no idea Darjistan was due." The coworker shrugged, and answered a call from another inbound flight. The Royal Darj landed smoothly, and taxied to the reception area where King Dizhwar disembarked, not before thanking the pilots for a safe flight. At the bottom of the steps, he smiled and waved to the small crowd that was gathered around, and saw King Jason approaching him. Dizhwar stretched out his hand to shake the Northern Presidents'. "Do forgive me Mr. President for the unexpectedness of my arrival. I figured, even though Darjistan is not rooted in the Anatolian affair, as a member of Baradoz, it was my duty to bring Darji representation. Also, with the result of the North Chicanan open recently, I wanted to personally commend you on hosting the tournament, and on your nations' victory. We look forward to the next one, and maybe putting up a better run; although; I was pleased with our finishing third on our first attempt. It is a pleasure to finally meet you, I look forward to participating in this conference, with you, and the other nations of Baradoz. Lest I forget, to extend my condolences to the downed Northern aircraft, and to all directly affected by those lost in it." |
