(OOC: Sorry guys! Been away all week so didn't get a chance to respond.)

The Pharaoh had spent for some a painfully long time in silence letting President Wayne, Whoever this Ryan character was, and the other leaders talk. He knew what was acceptable for the Empire when it came to peace. He knew what they could bend on and what they would have to remain firm on. The Pharaoh and indeed the Empire really didn't care at all what Byronmandy accused the Empire of and he certainly wouldn't be baited by the Stadhouder. These talks were not for Byronmandy to accuse the Empire and desperately try through diplomacy to save face. These talks were for the Empire to find peace with Byronmandy. Byronmandy held no advantage and the Pharaoh decided not to waste his breathe going back and fourth President Wayne. Instead he watched his friends and allies debate with the delusional President Wayne who brought this Ryan character here for some desperate last ditch attempt that fell on deaf ears and only served to anger the Pharaoh who now felt compelled to speak.

The Pharaoh glared at Director Ryan with the heat of a thousand suns and switched his microphone on "Director whoever you are. Know that if I ever catch you or if I ever have the Empire catch you, I will tear you limb from limb. I will cut out your tongue and feed you to my lions. No one ever threatens me to my face or my wife. You would be a wise man to double your security."

The Pharaoh then took a sip of Johnny Walker and kept staring at the director before talking again "Proud.... I am never proud of soldiers dying. I however am proud I upheld my sacred duty to protect and defend the Empire. If faced with the same situation a thousand times I would do it again. Am I proud that my armies have driven your army to your border..... Yes... I have no regrets other than soldiers died. It's easy for a desktop soldier to criticize an actual soldier.".

He took another sip before saying "I'm done with you." and he turned to President Wayne. "I don't disagree with you that you have an army President Wayne. You have an Army I've beaten across the Sahara and now only defend your border in Algeria, A navy that's been beaten across the Mediterranean, and an air force that's been outmaneuvered during the campaign. Yes!! President Wayne you have an army! Since your ally the Stadhouder thinks wars should be fought as they were in previous days when I quote "In earlier days wars were won when a nation fully controlled or destroyed another." shall I continue the war into Byronmandy? Need I remind the Stadhouder it was I who graciously accepted the Presidents offer of a ceasefire. If the Empire has not won this war then why did the President desperately seek a ceasefire? Hmmmmm I wonder..... Why were these actions taken if the Empire has not won this war?"

The Pharaoh sat back in the chair with a small grin coming across his face. He then began to talk again "I stated long ago after our assault on your fleet that the ball was in your court. If you wanted a ceasefire we would accept it. I have long stated I do not wish to seize Byronmnady unless I am forced to. I have stayed true to both of these statements and intend to as long as we here can come to an agreement and have peace. If we can't achieve peace, well then it's back to war and I will be forced...."

The Pharaoh then sat back in his chair and analyzed the Republics proposal before nodding and saying "The Empire accepts part 1 and 2 and we will agree to part 3 stating that "The Empire apologizes for any soldiers loss of life during the duration of this conflict.". You will find that I personally made a similar statement after our assault on your fleet off Rhodes. This was never a war against the people Byronmandy or its soldiers. I will however warn Byronmandy against future operations in the Eastern Mediterranean and I will also state that if Byronmandy will respect this and limit your movements in the Eastern Mediterranean the Empire will also limit our operations in the west. Hopefully if we can agree upon all of these parts written and unwritten we can learn to live with one another. If not then we're most certainly headed back here.".

The Pharaoh finished and waited for the other leaders to reply.

The Stadhouder took the microphone but did not bother to stand up 'I said that I would not stain any more words on this war, however I will not accept words to be stained on lies either. I never said that a war should be fought until one nation controls the another. What I merely said is that you did not win this war no matter how much you believe it yourself, and therefore you should refrain from making big demands. However your words tell the opposite, your actions show that you have listened. I highly appreciate and respect a wise decision like that.'

'What I appreciate a little less is that you personally threaten another nations diplomat during an international conference. A politician who takes statements and words personally has a conflict between it's ego and duty. There is no weaker politician than a personally offended one. Not a single soul in here cares about you personally Pharaoh, you are just the face that is linked to your nation. The same thing applies to all of us. So why do you feel personally attacked when it brings you nothing than loss of credibility?'

'The summary is easy, President Wayne feels illegitimately attacked, the Pharaoh feels the winner of a legitimate war, the Emperor feels himself the rightful helper in a legitimate war, and I think all of you screwed up resulting in the genocide of more than 100.000 soldiers and even more civilians. Conclusion things are pretty obvious so far.'

'Though, the good thing is that each of us wants to achieve exactly the same goal, and that is peace. So our ideas are completely different but our goals are identical. Forget the background, go for the goal, sign the peace treaty, and get it over with.'

The Pharaoh laughed a little before speaking to the Staudhoder "You continue to speak yet your own ally questions the presence of your nation in these talks. I quote the words of President Wayne “First of all, this is a conference to decide peace between Byronmandy, MVN and Grangale. Therefore, naturally only those said nations, along with the lone moderator should be here.". So why do you continue to speak?

"You say that I have not won this war yet I've crushed over 1/3 of Byronmandy's army and pushed them back to their border. If I wished to carry out a total war into Byronmandy I would and still can. The Empire has also as stated by our host won the media coverage of this war. Byronmandy sought the Empire out for a ceasefire and has sought us out for terms. Keeping with my word I agreed to a ceasefire. Do not consider the Empires acceptance of this ceasefire as weakness or war wariness. We accepted due to all of our military goals being met not out of any actions of Byronmandy's army which was in constant retreat. But it truly does not matter what you think of this war and does it really matter who anyone thinks has won? The fact is it is Imperial troops along Byronmandy's border not the other way around."

The Pharaoh then sighed and said "If I desired any sort of political advise from you Stadhouder I would ask. Try and refrain from attempting to lecture or goad me."

The Pharaoh then yawned a bit and leaned back saying "I'm tired are we ready to sign?"

"Very well, Mr. Pharaoh, I've had enough of all of this. I am ready to go home and once again lead my nation. Therefore I sign and agree to the three parts I proposed earlier. As soon as Grangale signs, we will have a mandatory non-aggression treaty between our three nations until 2/23/11. At that time, we may decide on if to extend it or not. As for part two, would you like to re-arm at a rate of one division per week or two?

And according to the final part, Byronmandy apologizes for the harsh statements issued at the start of the Ixzaran crisis, and our motto will be changed momentarily....And as for you refusing to apologize for murdering 115,000 peacekeepers; very well. That will do nothing but hurt yourself, and show the world, including the members of the Vienna Alliance just who you really are." With that said, the President turned toward the delegation from Grangale and waited for them to sign.

"Well then, if it it acceptable to our allies then it is acceptable to Us." The Emperor said. He held his hand over his shoulder and Kiryu placed an fancy looking fountain pen between his index and middle fingers and his thumb. However when everyone thought he was about to affix his signature he spoke again. "However, before We affix Our signature onto this treaty, We still would like to bring up that We that the notion of an international forum is one that is important to us. Now We understand that all of us here are itching to go home so perhaps the matter can be revisited at a later time." With that the Emperor affixed his signature next to the Pharaoh's.

"Now on to phase two of this... what of the POWs we each hold? We have about 1000 Byronmandian officers and enlisted men in a prison barge docked at Istanbul and in the Istanbul city jail. How does Byronmandy propose to retake custody of them?"

"And I believe you also have 1172 of our own troops."

The Pharaoh smiled after Emperor Julii signed the treaty and said "Excellent! Seems we're almost finished then!". The Pharaoh thought about countering the Presidents claim but what was the point? "Wayne will have enough trouble attempting to calm his citizens about their embarrassment in this war. Explaining to the common Byromander that he is worth reelecting will be amusing." the Pharaoh thought to himself.

The Pharaoh then turned to Emperor Julii and spoke "True enough! I have over 30,000 of the Republics soldiers in Imperial care. I believe we're all here gentlemen enough to allow our individual nations to charter flights for these warriors home. I have no problem with releasing the Republics men without any demands so long as they do the same."
.............

Soon after word of the treaty being signed came out the Empire would release an official statement regarding their regret in the loss of all soldiers who's lives were lost in the war Byromander, Grangale, and Imperial. The Empire would even hold several days of morning in the Empire for all lives lost. However the word peacekeeper would not be found in any of these statements. Since the Empires of both Monaco-Ville-Nice and the Grangale refused to view them as such they were referred to as soldiers.

--- Press Room, Imperial District, Directia. The following morning ---

This time, it was Raines' turn to address the nation. Raines hated this. He hated having the bright lights on him which caused him to sweat profusely, which lead to his throat drying out. He would have rather had Clifford or Ashley though certainly NOT Arlington... deliver the address, but he drew the short straw this time.

"I greet the citizens of the Grangale Empire a good morning, for today I bring good word from St. John. The war with Bryonmandy is officially over. Yesterday his Majesty the Emperor and our ally the Phaeroh Mark Antony accepted Byronmandy's proposal for peace. While there is much work to be done in Anatolia to where the 6th Imperial Fleet heads to next, the men and women of the 7th Imperial Fleet have just reached the Suez, en route to their home port of Junon. And soon our soliders held as POWs shall be on their way back to Imperial soil, back home as well.

War is a terrible thing for all involve, be it on the side of the victors of the side of the vanquished, with the approval of His Majesty the Emperor, the Imperial Council has declared the next three days to be days of remembrance, to honor the soldiers lost on both sides, the sons, the daughters, the mothers, the fathers. Honor the soldiers who carried out their duty honorably to the end in the Attack off Rhodes, in the Battle of the Eastern Mediterranean, and in the battles in North Africa.

For those who have lost friends and family in this war, let us remember that the animosity of war is between governments not peoples. It is a large thing that I ask, but I ask none the less, to not hold hate against Byronmandy as a people. War is a squabble between governments and not peoples. We, as the Imperial Government give our deepest apologies to the families of those Imperial Citizens who fulfilled the ultimate duty, who obeyed the call to arms, and who ultimately proved their loyalty. We pledge to you, that all soldiers who were disabled in the fighting, that the Imperial Government will see to it that they are cared for.

So in closing, I ask of all of you, to join me in a moment of silence..."

Raines stepped off the stage and was greeted by Scarlett. "Nice speech there. I especially liked the touch about apologizing on the behalf of all of us."

"Yeah, we actually get the luxury of apologizing to our people and not have to worry about getting fired for it. But I would have liked to have been able to say everyone can go home. The real twist is we're sending in even more troops there because of that warlord Uruz, and Veomo's worst case scenario." Raines said dryly.

"Arlington was right, the minute Operation Oasis was approved we crossed the Rubicon and there's no turning back from international involvement now." Raines continued.

The treaty had been signed and the Stadhouder and the Raadspensionaris walked back to Villa Rosa. During their walk the Raadspensionaris asked 'Tell me, why did you go in so agressively? You know they take it personally... don't you care about the consequences?' The Stadhouder smiled 'No, there will be only consequences for the ones who are weak and take things personally. Do you think the MVN arrogance looks good in the papers? The Pharaoh practically admitted the war was a set-up and he lured Grangale in as an ally.... I still like the man though.'

The Stadhouder continued 'The Pharaoh his words were great, but his actions followed the LTO lead with no exception during this conference. His actions helped us all including himself, but his arrogance damaged him. People know I did not say crazy things, I just poked him a little, and he exploded and called us insignificant like the Queen tends to do. I do not care about that, the entire nations wipes it's ass with those statements. Besides ever since the war began our economy went booming, we never had a more profitable period in history. There is just one thing that people prefer above world peace my dear Raadspensionaris, and that is a good filled wallet.'

'Ok I want you do the following send out the word that we above anything respect the leaders of MVN, Grangale and Byronmandy for their will and devotion to bring this conference to the success it was. Following I go to look up the Grangale Emperor and ask when the requested meeting should take place. And I want you the Celatorian authorities, they wanted to have a meeting too. Ask them when and where that should happen.' the Stadhouder ordered.

The Raadspensionaris took his cellphone and mumbled 'I can never get a break...'

--- Istanbul City Jail ---

"You got a visitor." Lieutenant Richard Allenby looked up from the charcoal drawing he was working on wondering who it could be. The door opened and in stepped Commodore Ramius and two marines.

"Commodore!" Allenby said snapping to attention.

Ramius returned the salute. "Got good news for you, the war's over, your going home!" The look on the young lieutenant's face told Ramius he could scarcely believe it. "Three airliners have been chartered to fly you and your comrades home. Here's some details on the confrence." Ramius said handing a news paper to Allenby. While the Lieutenant skimmed though the paper, Ramius flipped though a sketchbook and looked though some of Allenby's charcoal drawings. "You know you ought to get this published." The Commodore commented.

"Yeah, I was going to, when ever I got out of here... hey, sir, what are you doing here anyway? I know you're not here just to give me a paper."

"You're right, I'm here to personally drive you to Ataturk International for your flight home. Ever since picking you up, I've felt like you were sort of my responsibility so I made sure the jailers kept you well fed, and made sure to get you and books or art supplies you might want. Now come on, you've got a plane to catch."

---St. John, North Chicanan ---

The Emperor returned to find a message from the SUP delegation asking where an when to meet in regards to Nova Zembla. "Reply back, at their closest convenience." The Emperor said.
