(OOC: Thanks Grangale! Just noticed your post after I posted but felt I would give you the option of choosing.)

The Pharaoh laughed a bit when King Dizwhar said he would be a bit rusty "Not to worry I am far from Arnold Palmer. I can hold my own, but glory on the links has always eluded me. Always found golf relaxing though as you said. Plus what better way to get you up to speed than rediscovering our swings on what I'm told are the most difficult courses in the world." the Pharaoh said with a sarcastic laugh and making the others laugh as well.

"The Empire has actually pioneered the creation of golf courses in desert type environments King Dizwhar. Perhaps you should have some of your engineers travel to the Empire to see how it's done. I have no doubt they would learn much and get Darjistan well on its way to hosting a major open." The Pharaoh said.

The Queen then smiled at King Dizwhar and said "Thank you King Dizwhar I'm sure from what I hear of the high fashion here in St. John's I shall be a very happy woman indeed. You're quite sweet to wish me well however and I have no doubt that a charming man such as you shall have a wife in no time at all. And a King to boot!

"An amazing idea, my dear Pharaoh, I myself ain't much of golf, but have played a few rounds on my college years. Besides I am very intrigued on King's Dizhwar thoughts on this whole matter." The Grand Duke pondered.

"Milady Cleopatra, my wife is in town today, and I believe she would be most pleased to hang out a bit with you. Have some girl talk so as to speak." The Grand Duke suggested...

King Dizhwar lit up at the thought of setting up desert golf courses sooner rather than later. Surely, the Pharaoh's offer would expedite the creation of them by years. He nodded in recognition of the Grand Duke's comment. Then turned to the Pharaoh.

"Thank you very much for your offer Pharaoh. It just hasn't made it to the top of my priorities, but if some Darji engineers were to learn from yours, I could probably have the first major course up by the start of 2013. It would be a nice way to wind down after the whirlwind of politics that often passes through my office day in and day out. I would like to take you up on it."

He then smiled again to the Queen, flattered by her comments.

"Thank you your Highness. I will be sure, that when I find a wife, to make sure she loves to shop. Though, that shouldn't be too difficult." King Dizhwar got through before cracking a little laugh.

"Well..."

He said, then outstretched his hand, as if leading everyone towards the exit.

"Shall we?"

Helene addressed the King "I trust King Jason will be here shortly, I know right now will be very busy with group meetings or visiting the sites of St. John's, so I hope he will be free momentarily. And I look forward to seeing your Chancellor as well during our discussion, which I trust will be fruitful.

While we wait..." Helene was briefly interupted by her secretary. "Yes Robert?"

"I'm sorry m'am, but Foreign Minister Nelson Beaudelairen was wanting to set up a meeting at your earliest convenience, as the Queen plans to see bit of St. John's today."

"The hell does she want," Helene thought while cheerfully replying "Of course, please let Beaudelairen know that I should be free this afternoon before the end of the recess, and wish her Majesty well as she explores the city. I trust she will find many things to be to her liking here."

Jason had to restrain from laughing, as Helene only went that perky in tone when she was completely annoyed. However, the President was curious as well to what the Imperials wanted with the government. While Helene addressed her secretary, he took the lead in the conversation.

"As the First Minister was saying, your Majesty, North Chicanan has been in the process of working details out to launch a free trade association. Originally it was to be linked with the northern states but with Vulkland and the Finnish Reich being silent as of late we have instead been interested in working with both your state and San Lumen in creating greater links between our states."

"Both the President and I," Helene followed, pleased Jason showed he could take the lead for once, "feel our states have much in common politically and socially and that closer ties between us would be fruitful and successful, even with the difference in governments. While we have plans to meet with San Lumen later to discuss the Third Fleet's position in Trieste, our state is very interested in working with both kingdoms to create closer ties between all three. We are curious what your thoughts on the matter would be."

------------------------------------------------

Kat, Wiggins and Ollie retreated to Lovejoy on their break after the meeting was adjourned for the morning.

"I'm very surprised the Grangales plan on going out tonight as commoners. You'd think being photographed yesterday they wouldn't attempt it," Kat said over a plate of Northern game hen and summer vegetables.

"Well," Ollie responded, "it's their funeral if the press find them. Or ours, if someone leaks it. Meanwhile the Queen is off doing photo-ops in the city."

"Yeah, she's got an impressive contingent of women with her, and she's making it look like it's a strong women's day," Wiggins said. "Total press play."

"You think so?"

"Of course I do. Win the press to allow the Imperials favoritism, if the government doesn't back them on the whole Byronmandy thing it gets the outrage."

"Oh Wiggins your conspiracy theories are grand. Besides, the conservatives would have a field day if that was the case."

"But Ollie you forget, the conservatives rule Byronmandy."

"No, it's the crazy neo-cons. Even our neo-cons have their heads on the ground. It's the National Front that's scary."

"Is the NF still trying to prevent the Danish vote for accession to the Dominion?"

"Of course. So having all these leaders here makes the NF's skin crawl."

"Gotta love that."

"Of course. Any other goings on today?"

"Um..." Kat reviewed her schedule, "Byronmandy and the Provinces are staying in. I expect them to be discussing strategy over the plan."

"I'm curious to see if that idea the Vienna group proposes passes."

"Probably. The Northerners wouldn't be involved so they get the pass."

"Thank goodness for that." Kat said as all three returned to their tea and prepared for the afternoon.

For the golfing enthusiasts, St. John's has four major courses:

King's Parish, an Arnold Palmer-designed course that lies along the Southern Promenade.
St. Helena, the oldest and most respected course which lies in the Hillcrest area two miles east of the Old Estate
Hollyoake, the newest 5-star course located in Chicana Plaza (northeast)
Channelside North, a 5-star course that's in the west side of St. John's along the Southland River

High Street is the place for shopping, just off the Assembly region in downtown St. John's. Home to all the major designers and three major department stores- Harrads St. John's (9 floors with a restaurant on the 8th), High Emporium (7 floors at High St. and Stanley St.) and Northern Heights (8 floors, the 5th floor is home to the Northern Diamond Co. and the largest jewel traders in the nation). High Street goes from Stanley south to Park Street, where the National Opera House is located. North on Park Street towards Bingham Street (and Bishop Street) is the National Art Gallery and Chicanan Preservation Society. The Theatre District is on Easten Avenue, two blocks south of High Street starting at the corner of Highlands. Government Tower is on Stanley Street, with Channel 2 and CityTV's towers east of the building. The Assembly is just north of King's Parish on the Southern Promenade.

(ooc: damn it, I need to make a map of this city!)
(ooc 2: if we want to move the side rps of St. John's out of the thread, I'm all for it)

King Jason arrived at the meeting and saw the President and First Minister along with King Edward. He noticed the lavish table setting. One of the staff announced he was just in time for lunch.
"I'm sorry for my tardiness there was a water main burst so we had to take a detour.'' King Jason said.
"No worries. We're pleased to have you here Your Royal and Imperial Majesty.'' President Fillweed said as King Jason sat down.
"I look forward to working with North Chicanan and Celatoria. I too would like to have talks with the Great Finnish Reich. Our Government has tried to contact them in the past but to no avail. It seems to me as if they have an isolationist policy when it comes to foreign relations. I wonder why?'' King Jason asked. Everyone in the room seemed to not have an answer. After a few seconds of ackward silence someone spoke and offered an answer.

(OOC: Ya you do NC! Thanks for the outline though, made every ones life easier trying to know where to go in St. Johns. Since there won't be a lot of dialogue I'm guessing back and fourth during the Queens day out, I decided to post it here.)

Queen Cleopatra's left the Old Estate in her motorcade of 4 unmarked black SUV's, holding the Praetorian Guards, aides, and traveling servants, the Queens limo carrying the Queen herself, her handmaidens, her most trusted aides and servants, and then of course the motorcade was escorted by marked North Chicanan police cars and motorcycles.

The press and indeed the city was abuzz knowing the Queen was out and about in St. Johns. North Chicanan's press was famous for there love of celebrities and a royal/celebrity was even better. The Imperials had not made the Queens destinations public so the press and the city wondered where the motorcade would stop? Not wanting to risk missing a possible cover shot, the press tailed the motorcade around the city. This along with bystanders taking pictures along the route made the whole procession seem practically like a parade. It was however a bit strange to the press when the motorcade pulled into the Embassy of the Grand Duchy of Veomo.

The motorcade pulled through the gates of the Embassy and Queen Cleopatra was excited to meet Grand Duchess Tasha. Often times at events like this she felt there was to much testosterone to breathe, much less visit charities and go shopping. so it was quite refreshing that the Grand Duke gave the go ahead for her to spend the day with the new Grand Duchess. The Queen peered out the tinted window of the Imperial limo and saw the doors of the Embassy open and a man dressed in a suit and a beautiful brown haired woman walk out to the limo. The Queen then turned to her handmaidens and said "Okay, she's coming. Treat her as you would treat me.".

A Praetorian Guard opened the door to the Limo for the Grand Duchess Tasha and Ambassador Temkoy and they entered into the Limo. Queen Cleopatra warmly greeted both of them "Hello Grand Duchess! Welcome and thank you for joining me today. Certainly you make my day much more interesting. She then thanked the ambassador for accompanying her on her travels today as well. After introducing them to all the occupants in the limo, she gave the Grand Duchess an outline of what she wanted to do for the day .and told her if there was anything she would like to do as well to just add it to the outline for the day.

Once everyone was seated they were off again and onto the streets of St. Johns. The Queen and the Grand Duchess enjoyed small talk on her recent marriage, how she was finding life in Veomo, the stresses of being a monarch. It wasn't long until they pulled up at there first stop St. Agatha's food kitchen in the cities North End. The Motorcade stopping sent the press who had been following them into photo mode and they began taking shot after shot as the Queen and Grand Duchess got out of the limo flanked by Praetorian Guards and entered the food kitchen.

Once they entered inside and the left the calamity of the street they met the director of the kitchen. They learned of the kitchens struggles and of the importance the kitchen played in the lives of the North End's poor. They met with some of the people who relied on the kitchen for food, met with workers, and then sat down and had lunch. Once they finished the Queen thanked the director for all the great work her and her organization does in helping the lives of the poor. The Queen then committed the Imperial Trust (The Royals personal charity) to keeping the Kitchen fully stocked and staffed for 5 years. The director teared up and hugged the Queen and the workers and people eating applauded. After taking pictures with the director, some staff, and people eating the pair got back in the motorcade and left in St. John's again.

Helene responded to Jason's question. "Actually, Your Majesty, we have not heard from the Reich since their founding and like you are unsure of their isolationist policy. However, I think it's best to continue to make contact with the state for the time being, in order to show some openness to the state regardless of their policy. Eventually they may be more willing to speak on the international level and it's best to have channels open."

Jason then followed to inform King Jason of the previous discussion between the Northerners and King Edward, excluding the discussion on the future of Trieste. Helene wanted to do that discussion separately, hoping to propose a land lease to build a naval base for the Third Fleet and use that to help San Lumen's own military in the long run.

"Your Majesties, the Northern government is very keen towards opening our relations and we feel that with Celatoria and San Lumen we can build a prosperous connection between our states, both socially and economically."

"I am certainly very keen about opening our relations between our two countries and forging a prosperous and lasting friendship between in both areas. I wish to put forth a proposal regarding a possible land lease for naval base for the Third Fleet in Trieste. Its a key port that was vital in the effort in Yugslavia. Our military could also use the assistance.'' King Jason said as he had some more honeydew. The First Minister stared at him in astonishment. She was quite impressed with King Jason. It was as if he'd read her mind.
