The Empire views the Empire of Ikuani as a key partner in building a better and safer Eastern Mediterranean. I would gladly attend this meeting in person, however I have already planned a state visit upcoming with the Kingdom of San Lumen. I will however send Foreign Minister Nelson Beaudelairen to Damascus at the utmost haste to attend talks with you and your government. |

At the Damascus International Airport, life was going on as usual, though security had been alerted on the arrival of a government guest. At the Security Office, a gentleman was waiting for the guest to arrive when a junior security officer asked: -"So who is this government guest?" The gentleman, a senior officer, said with a steady voice and a harsh tone: -"A VIP guest of His Majesty. And that's all you need to know." The junior officer, then, swallowing his curiosity, went back to work. The Gentleman's assistant, a young woman, then gently said: -"You didn't had to be so harsh with him Jibril, he was only curious, after all it isn't everyday that a seneschal comes to the airport to receive a guest." -"You're probably right Samina." Jibril said with a small grin. At that precise moment another officer came in with a message from the tower. The plane was arriving. Jibril ibn Imad Nejem, was a Imperial Seneschal. The Imperial Seneschals were high officers of the Empire and personal agents of the Emperor. |

Fresh off of being pulled from the talks in St.Johns just before their close, Foreign Minister Nelson Beaudelairen was interested to say the least in being the first member of the Imperial government to meet with the officials of the Empire of Ikuani. Not a whole lot was known of the politics of the Empire of Ikuani and their was near nothing known of Ikuani's stance on regional issues. So the Foreign Minister was well aware of the importance of his trip to Damascus as his Gulfstream G650 descended and landed at Damascus International Airport. Once the the Gulfstream was docked at the terminal the Foreign Minister and several of his aides entered into one of the main terminals at Damascus International Airport and were quickly met by Imperial Seneschal Jibril ibn Imad Nejem and his men. The Foreign Minister introduced himself to the Imperial Seneschal saying "You must be my welcoming party. I'm Foreign Minister Nelson Beaudelairen of the Eternal Empire of Monaco-Ville-Nice.". |

As the Imperial delegation enters one of the main terminals of Damascus International, the Imperial Seneschal and his his men were long in position to receive them. As the Foreign Minister introduces himself, the Seneschal do the same saying "Welcome to the Empire of Ikuani Mr Baudelairen. I am Jibril ibn Imad Nejem, Imperial Seneschal of His Imperial Majesty. Please come with us, the cars are waiting outside." As they left the airport a group of sand color Rolls-Royce Phantom's bearing the Imperial flags was waiting to take them to the meeting place in the Old Damascus. The 8th century building which now holds the Damascus Province Government seat, the Ummayyad Hall. ![]() As the convoy rode across Damascus, the Seneschal was telling the Foreign Minister the history of the city, considered to be the oldest continuously inhabited city of the world, having survived the governments of several nations, the city was a proof of endurance. The Old Damascus district, is protected by imperial laws, and several buildings were being restored, the old city still kept that mystic and mysterious atmosphere of the cities of ancient times, as if it had been frozen in time. Minister Beaudelairen was fascinated with the city as they pulled over at the Ummayyad Hall. A few moments later the minister alone was taken by the seneschal to the presence of the Sarrum of Ikuani, while the rest of the delegation had to wait at the courtyard along with seneschal's men. ![]() Sarrum Naram-Suen ibn Bakhat Nasar. |

Foreign Minister Nelson Beaudelairen was impressed to say the least at the ancient splendor and charm of Damascus. A city of ancient wisdom mixed with the modern urban culture to be expected in a modern city and a city the Foreign Minister had never had the chance to visit until now. He was enjoying the visit to this ancient seat of power even though his dreary exterior would never show it. As the Rolls-Royce Phantom's pulled up to Ummayyad Hall the Foreign Minister was excited about this chance to meet with the Emperor. Taken by the seneschal down grand hallways he wondered what his meeting would be like with this as up until now mysterious leader. The seneschal led him to a large doorway and showed him the way inside. The Foreign Minister entered and was greeted by a man sitting upon a throne. "Sarrum of Ikuani" he said while bowing his head and waiting for the Sarrum to address him. |

"Welcome to the Empire, Minister Beaudelairen" the Sarrum said standing up. "I hope you have had a pleasant journey." He added showing an empty set of pillows and couches on one side in an open circle. In a low round desk in the center a silver tray with a silver coffee jug was resting. "Please take a seat Minister." The Sarrum took one seat, and jovial maid came in and poured some of the dark strong drink into a couple of silver and ceramic cups. With a hand movement Naram-Suen indicated the minister to take one. "Thank you Zaida" he said to the maid dismissing her. "So Minister, what news do you bring from the Eternal Empire?" |

The Foreign Minister followed the Sarrum and took a seat next to him. He then replied to the Sarrum "A very pleasant journey, you have a beautiful country. It's also just a short trip by plane from Alexandria to Damascus by plane. This closeness in our borders I have no doubt will lead to great trade yield between us in the near future.". The Foreign Minister then took some coffee and sipped it saying "I love strong eastern coffee. Nothing better in my book.". The Sarrum nodded and agreed with Foreign Minister Beaudelairen. It was then time for business and the Foreign Minister spoke on the recent happenings in the Empire "Well the largest news from the Empire is the ending of the Imperial-Byromander war. The Empire and our Grangale allies achieving victory or the Republic. Also we've obviously as you know been active in both Anatolia and Nationalist Zion as a peacekeeping and stabilization force. We're hoping with the war at a close we can out larger amounts of Imperial assets into these roles and achieve peace quicker. We also on a lighter note have King Jason of San Lumen in the Empire for a state visit." |

The Sarrum nodded "Indeed the past months have been of great distress to the region, hence why we decided to take a more active role. For some time now, our western borders have been filling up with refugees. Camps are spreading on the verge of our land, under the vigilant eyes of our border patrols." He sipped some of his coffee "I congratulate the Empires on having achieved peace on this late war." He took another sip and continued "You see minister, I believe that the Eternal Empire is a keystone that divides our world, the gatekeeper to the eastern nations, as Ixzara was the gatekeeper of the northern door to the western world. Now Ixzara is no more, and we cannot get the luxury of pretending everything will be as it used to be." After a small pause, Naram-Suen said "So what are the ideas of the Eternal Empire to anatolia and palestine?" |

The Foreign Minister thanked the Sarrum for his congratulations and then said "The Empire certainly applauds Ikuani for taking a more active role in the region. The Empire views your nation as a vital regional partner not only in Zion but throughout the region." The Foreign Minister then took a sip of his coffee and continued "The Empire also certainly agrees with you that both the land of former Ixzara and our Empire are the keystones to our region. With our control of the Suez and the Bosporus being in Ixzara both of us control the major entrants to the Mediterranean with Gibraltar in Byronmandy. Stability and security in all of these spots are vital in the Empires eyes. Though we know with the fall of Ixzara we know we can't go back to the way things use to be. The regional dynamics are ever changing in these new days." The Foreign Minister then sat back in his chair and gathered his thoughts before continuing "When it comes to Anatolia the Empire will be carrying out the plan agreed upon in St.Johns known as the Celatorian plan. As for our military commitment, our area of control is limited by the talks in St.Johns to the port city of Mersin. With the war with Byronmandy now over we however are looking to dramatically increase our amount of logistical and air support in the theater. With the war lords in Anatolia now fighting coalition forces harder than expected and even dealing the Veomese a blow in the North of Anatolia we are exploring potentially expanding our role on the ground as well. We're considering offering our ground forces in a support role to the Celatorian and Grangale forces now operating against various warlords in Central and Northern Anatolia. So basically their is a plan to get Anatolia back on its feet, we just need to totally secure the country. The Empire is willing to expand our role to do just that as well and I am sure the other countries involved would welcome a Ikuani role in Anatolia as well.". The Foreign Minister then cleared his throat before saying "As for Palestine. The Empire will be transferring units from the front with Byronmandy to Palestine to increase security and stability. The country is as of now relatively stable and we expect it to be totally stable in a few weeks. As for the complicated politics of Zion we've viewed all options politically. We've thought about everything from annexation which was never taken very seriously because lets be honest who wants to take on that situation, to various reforms in their government. We currently are maintaining the status quo. We're keeping all ethnic groups separate in their various neighborhoods for stability and security. We are however pursuing a political model in which power would be shared between both Islamic, Jewish, and Christian ethnic groups. This we feel would lead for a much more stable Zion that can avoid conflict and can stand on its own. We view a return back to the simply Jewish dominated government will lead to more instability and conflict and will hurt the country as a whole.". |
