Thebes, Monaco-Ville-Nice: With the coming of fall and the harvest season again around the corner, the time has come for the Thebes Festival. The annual music festival in the central Imperial city of Thebes which celebrates the fall harvest along the Nile, runs Friday the 14th through Sunday the 16th. Festival organizers have said ticket sales have surpassed 150,000 tickets sold and that this year could very well be the largest Thebes Festival to date. All proceeds from the festival go to the Imperial Trust charitable organization and are used to fight poverty, hunger, and many of the other great problems in our world. The festival features Rock, World, Electronic, Reggae, Folk, Hip Hop, and Dance music from many of the worlds biggest artists and groups.

Started in 1970 as a small gathering of local musicians in a Thebes park to celebrate the fall harvest, it has now grown into one of the largest annual festivals in the world. The festival's humble roots are still evident with the festival running with an all volunteer staff. Many residents in Thebes open their houses to traveling concert goers and donate food, drinks, blankets, and tents to the festival organizers. All of this gives the Thebes Festival a truly unique and local feel that no other large festival in the world can offer.

Considered to be a "Lighter" than the primarily hard rock and metal Rock the Empire Festival in Alexandria, the Thebes Festival features a very wide range of performers from today's music scene. The festival is headlined by Neil Young, Radiohead, and Guns N' Roses, on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday respectively. Other acts include Primal Scream, Snow Patrol, Blondie, Blur, Stone Sour, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Leona Lewis, David Bowie, The Verve, Tiesto, Franz Ferdinand, Amy Macdonald, Nelly Furtado, The Deftones, and many more artists. Their will be two main stages the Jager Stage and the Other Stage, as well many smaller stages throughout the concert grounds. All of the performances can be scene on the Imperial News Network live throughout the weekend.

Thebes, Monaco-Ville-Nice: The Thebes Festival of Contemporary Performing Arts began today in the central Imperial city of Thebes. Nearly 150,000 festival goers have crowded Ptah Park this year and were treated to a great day of music that started with local bands on the smaller side stages before Lily Allen opened up the Jager stage. The night of music ended with Neil Young giving a touching set during his Friday headline slot. Music starts again tomorrow and the day is headlined by Radiohead on the "Other Stage.".

Concert organizers have said they have been able to handle the massive crowds "Well" and thanked the massive support of the local community for this success. Organizers have said local families donations of food, supplies, and time is the heartbeat of the festival. Organizers expect 1,600,000 liters of beverages to be served served, using 4 million plastic cups, 900,000 hamburgers to be consumed, 500,000 pizza slices served. and 58,000 hamburgers to be sold in a single day a world record.

Thebes, Monaco-Ville-Nice: The Thebes Festival of Contemporary Performing Arts continued again today performances starting at noon with Franz Ferdinand taking to the "Other Stage". The day was closed by Radiohead giving a brilliant performance on the Jager stage.

With over 150,000 spectators the logistics of keeping festival goers fed and healthy has been daunting. However the staff has done an extraordinary job with few hospitalizations, arrests, and assaults reported. The festival so far has been a major success and concludes tomorrow with Guns N' Roses closing the festival.

Thebes, Monaco-Ville-Nice: The Thebes Festival of Contemporary Performing Arts concluded today in the pouring rain to an amazing set by Guns N' Roses on the Jager stage. The rain and muddy conditions made for quite the mud wars during the down time of the festival. However the minute the first note was hit during Guns N' Roses headlining slot the crowd was seemingly all paying attention to the music.

The festival was attended by over 150,000 during the three day duration. By all accounts from organizers and authorities the festival has been a major success on all counts. The festival is said to have raised millions of dollars for the Queens Imperial Trust. We've covered the festival from the first note to the last.
