Once all the members were on their seats, Premier Gustav Kendar stood up and spoke. "Esteemed ladies and gentleman, leaders of the world. I called this meeting here today to present to you all the evidence that the Veomese government gathered since the assassination of the Grand Duke and before. With me are Director Nikolai Andropov, head of the foreign department of the Royal Intelligence Agency, and Commander Nika Kurchenko, whom was in charge of the gathering of intel with the Northern authorities." He was saying while introducing the government officers. "Also Ambassador Ivan Temkoy, link with the northern government and former diplomat at Ixzara prior to its collapse, and Marshal Markum Iubek, our Minister of Defense." after the introductions, Premier Kendar then said "Since the assassination of the Grand Duke and the disappearance of the Grand Duchess, with no clear heir to the throne, since the blending of the Houses of Veomo and Krasnodar, the nation of Veomo got a power vacuum as it had never on more than 275 years, that event led to the bill Act 138 of 1735. Which the Parliament was forced to reinforce this year. Today you'll be presented with the chronology of events that led to these tragedies. From the collapse of the Republics of Ixzara and Neoplanta through the unfortunate Byro-Imperials war, until the fateful meeting and assassination of the Grand Duke and the posterior events. Director Andropov will present us such chronology." The Premier sat again while the Director of the RIS stood up. ((I'll be making the presentation of the Director later today. Feel free to IM me if you want to give some input on the events)) |

The Pharaoh and Queen were sitting at the large meeting table with their delegation seated behind them. The Queen was busy going over the latest Mukhabarat reports on Veomo, while the Pharaoh was chatting with some of the military men from alliance countries while waiting for the meeting to start. The Pharaoh noticed Prince Henry of Celatoria enter and having never met the young heir to the Celatorian throne he figured now was as good of a time as ever to introduce himself. Relations being somewhat frayed it seemed between Celatoria and the Empire the Pharaoh felt it very important to mend what wounds had opened in the relationship and saw working together on the Veomo crisis as a good opportunity to work together again. father The Pharaoh approached Prince Henry and said "Prince Henry! Good to see some youth here.". They chatted for a few moments and the Pharaoh could sense the Prince's nervousness but he made sure to assure the Prince that he would do fine during the meeting. He then offered for Prince Henry to take a seat next to the Imperial delegation during the meeting. Within a few moments all the parties were present and the Premier began speaking. |

Colonel Almathea leaned over and whispered something to one of the Guardsmen and he tapped a button on the radio he wore. The frequency provided a direct and encrypted line to the Venator's conference room where only Commodore Ramius and Prince Alexi sat. The Emperor didn't think it would be too wise to bring Alexi with him as part of his party, but he did think it would only be fair to give the prince and opportunity to be heard and to rebut any of Kendar's points. On a table in the Venator's confrence room was a laptop with a direct video conference line to another that sat in Almathea's bag if the Prince felt he needed to speak up. On her computer were also copies off all the files the IIS had gathered in its investigation. All the evidence that had thus far been gathered against Kendar. Much of it had yet to be released to anyone out side the parties involved, the highest levels of the Imperial Government, and the IIS. |

King Jason noticed Crown Prince Henry enter the room and felt compelled to introuduce himself in a kindly and respectful manner before sitting down. "Prince Henry its an honor to meet you in person. I've heard so much about you.'' King Jason said shaking his hand. They talked for a few minutes before everyone took their seats . Placecards were put in front of everyone who wasn't a monarch just as everyone sat down. King Jason listened intently to what the premier had to say. He and his delegation decided they would wait to speak until after the Director gave her chronology. Edited by San Lumen, Oct 15 2011, 07:02 PM.

Director Nikolai Andropov, Head Director of the Department of International Operations of the Royal Intelligence Agency of Veomo stood up and walked towards a screen that was on one of the extremes of the large table. On it a timeline with several data was showing up. "Your Majesties, here you all can see a timeline of the events that we believe begun on June 22nd of this year when His Majesty declared war upon the threatening vicious government of Ukraine. With the auspice of the international community our goal was reached and our enemies had little time to react. The finding of the nuclear waste on a weaponry cargo only increased the worries of the Grand Duke. When the half life of such waste was compared with that of the ones present at Nova Zembia and its source was established, the Grand Duke ordered the RIS with a extremely delicate task: find out who were the heads behind the criminal organization that was rotting our region. After much work Dmitri Alexeievich was a linking point which allowed the arrest of local figures on Ukraine, Grangale" at this point the director looked straight to Emperor Julii as if acknowledging the hard work of his people on this matter "and further on of international figures such as Ulrich Jürgen and Kenneth Baker, but still they were only small pieces on the larger puzzle. Meanwhile, His Majesty continued the talks with His Majesty Vasily VII of Krasnodar about his marriage with his daughter Princess Natalya which occurred soon after." The director made a pause. "With this marriage the Grand Duchy and the Kingdom of Krasnodar would be bound by marriage and as soon as Her Majesty produced an heir the two nations would be bound by blood, and indivisible forevermore, this might sound just a formality but it has the greatest of consequences. While the two nations remained bound by marriage, their succession lines would remain separated, being therefore, Prince Alexi to succeed after his sister. But once the two nations become bound by a common successor, a new line would been drawn, placing Prince Alexi farther from his father throne as ever before." he made another pause as the screen zoomed on a part of the line. "At this point two might nations collapsed under the dreadful influence of the criminal organization Jürgen and Baker were part of. The fall of Neoplanta and Ixzara were a mighty blow that led to the unfortunate war between Byronmandy and the Empires of MVN and Grangale, and an increase of the military industry, which later on became known was in part controlled by figures of the aforementioned criminal organization." The Director then went by the events of the collapse of the republics and the recent war that led to the conference at St. John. "Now Commander Nika Kurchenko will present you with a more detailed view on the events that occurred on the conference and the days that followed the assassination of the Grand Duke. ((another pause for if anyone want to give ideas/insights/suggestions/opinions etc on how should the story go on... just IM me)) |

Emperor Julii listened closely to the timeline presented. "Almathea, make a note about the succession issue, about the lines being separated until a common successor was born." The Emperor whispered to his aide. As he listened, Emperor Julii began to sense that at the end of the day it would turn into a credibility issue. In his defense Alexi could at least argue that he would never put his sister, whom he appeared to be very close to, before his own personal ambitions. When he was still a practicing attorney, Emperor Julii always hated this aspect of trial. You could have all sorts of proof and evidence lined up behind you, but it could all amount to jack-crap if your credibility was shot to pieces. But, if it was Alexi... why wait till after the marriage to act...? It would have been much less complicated and more likely to cleanly succeed if he acted before the wedding. The Emperor pondered. --- Aboard the GIS Venator --- Prince Alexi and Commodore Ramius followed along with the time line, though their direct radio line. "So far he hasn't said anything I wouldn't agree with. It is true that once an heir to my sister and brother-in-law was born I'd be out of the running. But that's something I've expected, and I supported my sister in this marriage along with my father." Alexi said. "This is turning into a finger pointing match, and I can see how Kendar is going to paint a motive on you." Ramius pointed out. Edited by Grangale Empire, Oct 16 2011, 01:49 PM.

As King Jason listened to the Premier he was amazed by what he was hearing. At least now there was an answer for why the governments of the Ixzaran Republic and Neoplanta collapsed. He did however have some reservations about some of the statements made by Premier Kendar. He would have to ask him about it. Director Vilora was suprisied regarding the organization the Premier mentioned. She knew little about it and was not on the list of terrorist groups. The King then turned to the Secretary of State and asked him to make a note regarding the line of succession. It was at that moment King Jason knew this meeting might in fact decide the future of the region.

Commander Nika Kurchenko, who was in charge of the investigation effort between the Veomese government and the Northern authorities stood up and said. "Thank you director. Your Majesties, I will begin now with a recollection of some events that might not be all very known. Little before the Byronmandy-Imperials War, just after the collapse of the republics, the Grand Duke, was very interested in finding out who were the leaders of such organization. Our delay on intervene at former Ixzaran territory was precisely due to this. The Grand Duke, as well as the RIS were still investigating the warlords, and we found out some most extraordinary coincidences, some of the warlords including Burakgazi, and most of the members of what would come to be Admiral Uzun's high officers had been at some point at the Royal Naval Academy of Abkhazia on the same time frame that Prince Alexi was attending to it. Now there's also another thing, the Grand Duke never revealed what he assumed to be only a matter of desire, but the fact was that while Prince Alexi was away with the 4th Fleet of Grangale, the Grand Duke and His Majesty Vasily VII of Krasnodar met and decided that the wedding should be held earlier than it had been programmed." She made a pause, she knew that it was all circumstantial so far, but the main piece of evidence was found a little after her arrival at St. John. It was the black box of the Grand Duchess airplane. Nika makes a signal to someone at the door, and two officers with full combat uniform walked in with a case. Nika unlocked it and removed from inside a bright orange box with two white strips on diagonals and a couple of lines in black ink read FLIGHT RECORDER DO NOT OPEN "Your Majesties I present you the black-box of HM Natalya's flight. From it we managed to recover the audio of the aircraft. But before we can listen to it, I must put you in some context. During the meeting at St. John, the Grand Duchy delegation received the message of the internation of HM Vasily VII. HM Natalya departed immediatly to be with her father a few hours later the news of HM Vasily death came in. HM the Grand Duke was planning to depart as soon as the meeting came to an end to the watch and burial service. After HM Kahv Eirm was murdered, our sources indicates that Prince Alexi insisted she should flight back to St. John, despite of our worries for her safety and suggestion she should not leave Abkhazia." She made a pause. "When Her Majesty plane disappeared from radar we feared for the worst. We were in fact relieved when the black box was found by northern authorities, but worried that no body was found. Surprisingly the plane was almost intact seemed damaged only by its impact on the bottom of the channel,as if it had attempt a landing at the sea, but nothing more." this is the recording of the black box." she said at the same time she pressed a button on her computer and a recording begun to play with the usual cabin chit chat and contacts with radars and towers, until the last minutes. A single message it's all ready, take care of her and then a gunshot and only static. The voice was Prince Alexi's... Silence fell in the room as static continued to come out of the speakers of the room... [EDIT TO CORRECT MISSPELLING » CANAL - CHANNEL « SORRY FOR THE TROUBLE] |
