As Emperor Julii finish and with the theatrical entrance of Prince Alexi, Premier Gustav Kendar stood up, and turning to face Marshal Iubek and the Grand Ducal Guard Officer, he said: "Marshal Markum Friedrich Iubek, for the crimes of regicide, homicide, theft of nuclear material with purposes of committing terrorism, crimes against the Grand Duchy, and treason, you're now under arrest. Since you are a government officer and due to the atrocity of your acts, as to our laws, you shall not face neither military court nor civilian court, but the Collegiata Trial." As the old marshal heard that he froze, the Collegiata Trial was the utmost tribunal of the Grand Duchy and the only court that could trial the monarch. Its decisions were unappealable and besides of the Duke's Court it was the only one able to give the death penalty. The last time that a Collegiata Trial was called was over 250 years ago and it's verdict changed the nation as it was known and the marshal knew it for it was the last time a Grand duke faced trial, for his atrocious crimes he was condemned to face the same horrors he caused, being then quartered alive, he was the last of the house that preceded the last ruling house. "Get him out of here" the Premier ordered. Then facing the other delegations he said. "I apologize for the small theater your majesties, but I had hoped at first that the Grand Duke had fulfilled the mission he imposed himself, of warning at least one of you of his suspicions. Unfortunately during the last years and even more on the past months, in great part due to the rising conflicts on the region, Markum Iubek", the premier was already stripping the former of his rank and positions, now he had right to none. "begun to gather great power both political and among the military up to a point that going openly against him through the normal channels would mean a scission on our military forces and most probably civil war, getting in a situation very similar if not worse than that of the Finnish. So with the Royal Couple and the members of the Collegium we came up with a risky plan, of pretending to be fooled by marshal's deceive and going after Prince Alexi. To whom I apologize." At that very moment as acrazy-faced Markum Iubek was being carried out of the room he screamed. "If I'm falling I'll take all of you with me!!" and he begun to laugh as one of the Guard officers noted a blinking spot under the former marshal clothes. "TAKE COVER HE HAS A BOMB!!!!" he cried while throwing the marshal outside the room on the ground, as the other shoot the marshal. As they approached the body and opened his shirt the timing was marking 00:10. |

Colonel Kiryu and a Guard officer hurled Lubek out of the room. Thinking quickly Kiryu dove on Lubek and pulled his jacket back to expose the bomb. I know this... he thought. He instantly recognized the bomb as a type made by ArmsTech and one used by the IIS and Special Ops. 00:00:05:34 the timer read as Kiryu fished a knife out from a hidden forearm sheath. ...where's that wire... 00:00:03:13, Kiryu then isolated a wire with the tip of his knife. ...this one... 00:00:01:02, He then cut the wire. ...here goes...! 00:00:00:32... and the timer stopped. "Too bad..." Kiryu said to the still conscious Lubek before punching him out. The Guardsman stood up and looked at the others "we're safe now, but don't take the bomb off it could still have a deadman switch." Emperor Julii shook his head and looked up, at Almathea who was lying on top of him. "Ok you can get off now..." Almathea blushed and stood up, and he stood and dusted himself off. "Good thinking there Shiro." He then looked at Kendar and Alexi, "looks like you two still get to have your trial." Edited by Grangale Empire, Nov 10 2011, 08:41 PM.

When Marshal Lubek reveal he had a bomb the elite Praetorian Horse Guard sprang into action. Two guardsmen quickly jumped on the Queen to shield her from any potential explosion. Another guardsman flipped the table the royals had been sitting at and drew his weapon. The other guardsmen followed suit and drew their weapons behind the heavy wood table along with Pharaoh Mark Antony who also drew his firearm in anxious anticipation of either a blast or perhaps Lubek's supporters entering into the fray. Their was confusion and pandemonium in the meeting hall. Seconds seemed like hours as guards rushed forward, out into the hallway. Soon however it was apparent one of the men who had sprang into action, Colonel Kiryu had disarmed the bomb. Many in the room seemed shocked, almost frozen by what just happened. The Pharaoh however broke the tension by standing up and clapping, he laughed and said "Well done Colonel Kiryu! Truly a good display of Grangale toughness!". The others in the room seemed to come out of their shock a little by the Pharaohs light and calm tone. The Queen who was covered by two massive guardsmen said "Get off you're hurting me!". The Guardsmen quickly got off the Queen who was dusting herself off. She looked down at her dress and noticed a rip in the fabric and yelled "Now I have to walk out of here with a ripped dress.... Great!". One of the guardsmen then said "Apologies highness for our carelessness.". The Queen then nodded and said "You're forgiven. Next time just be more careful.". The Guardsmen nodded and then made sure the area around the Royals was secure. The Pharaoh then looked at Premier Kendar and said "Well I guess this settles it then. I have the utmost faith in your government to make sure Lubek pays for this.". |

Prince Henry had been watching proceedings. He was visably shaken by what had happened, the colour having drained from his face and his eyes having taken on a frightened glaze. Slowly, the colour returned to his face, but he could still feel his heart pounding in his chest. Having positioned himself near the the delegation from MVN, had there been an explosion, he would likely have been shielded somewhat by the flipped table. If it hadn't been for that and there had been an explosion, he would almost certainly have died, and he knew it. To the mild suprise of the young diplomat accompanying him, he got to his feet, and walked over to the guardsmen of the delegation from MVN. He shook the hand of every one of them, and thanked the Pharoah and Queen. Then he did the same to Kiryu. He walked outside, and he vomited. |

The Pharaoh after seeing everything was in order made his way outside for a smoke. He wasn't a compulsive smoker, however it seemed nearly after every important decision, battle, or dangerous situation he was involved in he had the urge. "Perhaps it's a tension reliever?" he thought to himself. The Pharaoh bummed a cigarette from one of the Praetorian Guards and made his way down several hallways until he was outside into the somewhat chilly Viennese late fall afternoon. The Pharaoh light his cigarette and slowly inhaled and exhaled, as if he was letting go of any tension that had built up during the incident. Tension that the Pharaoh hid well from all in the meeting room. The Pharaoh turned around to face the city skyline and noticed the young Crown Prince of Celatoria who was clearly very shaken from all that had gone on. The Pharaoh walked over to the the young Prince and out his hand on his back. The Pharaoh then said in a reassuring tone "It was the same for me the first time I was in a life or death situation. Happens to just about their first time, well everyone who isn't stupid. Don't worry you handled yourself very bravely." the Pharaoh said reassuringly. The Pharaoh then nodded and said "Your father would be very proud of you." as he slapped the prince on the back. |

Emperor Julii knew there were a few more issues that needed to be settled, but he went over to King Jason and simply said "I'm going out to get a little air. I think some of us need a little break." He said gesturing towards Prince Henry who numbly walked out. He then made his way to Kiryu who was talking to some of the Veomese Guards. "Good thing he bought all his crap from Baker isn't it?" The Emperor said gesturing towards the disgraced Marshal, who was now in custody of a San Lumen police bomb unit. "How did you know what kind of bomb it was anyway?" The Emperor asked. "I didn't. I just figured we're all dead anyway so I may as well just give disarming it a shot, lucked out and turned out to be the same bomb that Intel and SpecOps uses their dirty work like car bombs." Kiryu said with a shrug. "Well somebody was watching over us today, maybe King Jason's grandfather?" The Emperor quipped. "Keep any eye on things in here, I need some air." It wasn't the first time, someone tried to kill him. That honor fell to a defendant's crazed wife who stormed the courtroom with a shotgun about 6 months after he started practicing law. But it wasn't any less stressful on the mind, and sarcastic jokes was one of his ways of dealing with that stress. On his way out, he was turned to Almathea, "see didn't I tell you that knowing that guy would come in handy?" he asked referencing the day he and Almathea met Kiryu back in college. It was then he noticed his mouth was dry, and made his way over to the bar just outside the conference hall. He brought up a recipe for a drink he had stored on his phone, and waved over the bartender, "hey can you whip this up for me...?" He then noticed Prince Henry throwing up. "...and let me get a bottle of water." A moment later he was walking towards the Prince, whom the Pharaoh was now talking to. "Gentlemen." He said greeting the two. "You're looking a little green there Prince, here..." He said handing the bottle of water to the Prince. Emperor Julii had caught the tail end of what the Pharaoh was saying and added in his 2 cents. "He's right, I was a bit green too after the first time someone gunned for me. You kept your cool, that was good." The Emperor took a deep breath and looked around. "it's a nice day out, let's enjoy it a little before going back in there." |

The Premier was still somewhat in shock. A few years ahead he would comment on his autobiography that this was one of the most terrifying moments he ever lived. But now there were more things to be discussed, and with the threat of Iubek proven and under control things could go on smoother ways now. Later on that same day it would be decided the future of three nations, Veomo, Krasnodar and Ukraine. ((OOC: As I have said before in private, Krasnodar and Ukraine will separate from Veomo, becoming all of them under the rule of NPCs characters. Ukraine later on shall merge with the "The Federation of New-Russia", while Krasnodar I believe will fall under the protection of Grangale(correct me if wrong) and Veomo, well it will become an NPC nation. Thank you all for the experience with Veomo.. and see you around. This meeting can be considered over, and the changes above said can be published as headlines on your news networks if you like. ( Let's hope that now Julii can finally get back to Directia for a couple of weeks ) ))

(OOC: You're right, I'll claim Krasnodar as a protectorate. Heh, and yeah the Emperor will be quite happy to finally be home again.) After it was decided what would become of Veomo, Prince Alexi requested a private meeting with the Emperor aboard Grangale One. Pointing out that since the wedding several of Krasdonar's key government institutions had been dismantled and the military had to be reorganized, that Krasdonar for the time being needed the protection of a powerful ally and requested that the Empire be that ally. After a brief deliberation with the Council, the Imperial Government agreed to have Krasnodar as a protectorate. But for the most part, Emperor Julii just wanted to finally get home to Directia. |

Queen Cleopatra was happy the meeting was over, and over successfully. She had doubted very much that their would be a peaceful outcome for the Grand Duchy. She was however pleased in this situation to be wrong. Tahe Vienna Alliance had proven itself not simply a military and economic power, but also a major diplomatic force. The aversion of civil war and the arrest of Marshal Lubek for the Grand Dukes death were major victories for the alliance. The Queen was quite happy the situation was resolved within the framework of the alliance, it proved the alliance was more than just a collection of states under a mutual protection pact. It showed the alliance could solve regional problems, not just shield nations from them. The Queen knew their was work to be done. The futures of Veomo, The Ukraine, and Krasandor were still to be decided. Their was much careful consideration and delicate work ahead. The storm cloud that was a Veomese civil war however being averted, certainly made this task much easier. In the downtime that had arose the Queen decided to take the time to get a drink with her Foreign Minister and discuss the implications of what had just happened with the Marshal. |
