Councilor Shu, one of the twelve Imperial Councilor's stepped on to the stairs and off A-340 onto the tarmac at Narita International Airport in Tokyo, Japan. The Shogunate government had recently decided to become more involved in the region and the Imperial Government saw this an opportunity to forge a partnership with it's neighbor. Over the years may Japanese had emigrated to the Empire, and there was a substantial Japanese population in Directia and Junon. Shu himself was of Japanese descent.

Historically the Empire had bad relationships with its southern neighbors and sought to get Japan in it's camp. As Shu stepped off the stairs he was met by a small group, all in expensive looking suits. At the head of a the group, was a dignified looking woman, not so young, but not yet middle aged. "I am Foreign Minister Nanami, it is a pleasure to meet you Councilor Shu. The Shogun is eager to meet you as well."

Councilor Shu took her hand and nodded as he shook. "Indeed, I look forward to meeting him as well."
