Alexandria, Monaco-Ville-Nice: Queen Cleopatra announced massive political reform today, seemingly to the shock of some in the Empire. Queen Cleopatra announced in a small press conference that she's relinquishing her right to appoint Governors and Mayors throughout provinces, cities, and towns today. The Queen said "I believe this is a job that the people are surely able and capable of making. I have every faith that this reform will strengthen the Empire by allowing for competition between politicians that will lead to long term positive results. I'm going to hold elections for Governors in all the provinces of the Empire and mayors in all Imperial cities, towns, and villages.". The Queen then expressed her sincere hopes that these reforms will lead to more proactive policies at the local and provincial level. Their are however stipulations to being eligible to run for office in the Empire. A candidate must belong to the Royal Monarchist Party of Monaco-Ville-Nice, be over 30 years of age, and receive the endorsement of the Queen. The Crown which receives all applications for endorsement and will then chose at least 2 candidates for endorsement to run for election.

The party through which candidates must to belong to, the Royal Monarchist Party of Monaco-Ville-Nice is now born out of this reform. The party is founded on pro-monarchy ideals such as the divine rights of the Crown, as well as subscribing to the prominent neoclassical economics theories which the Crown, most notably the Queen has championed, as well as being ardent supporters of the Imperial Military and the Imperial system. The Party will handle the running of the elections as well as the registration process for citizens. All citizens wishing to vote must register with the Royal Monarchist Party at their local offices now being set up around the Empire. Citizens wishing to vote must be 18 years or older and must registered to and belong to the Royal Monarchist Party.

The Queen has instructed all Provincial Governors to begin preparations for both provincial and local elections. She also went on to say "All current Provincial Governors are expected to join the Party and are to be eligible for reelection should they seek it and make a strong case for endorsement by the Crown.". Elections are expected to be held on January 8th, should all preparations be made in a timely manner. These elections will be the first ever in the Empire that are to include the general population. Elections in the Empire however have happened before, usually for local leaders and primarily were between town elders.

The Royal Monarchist Party is to be led by Hassem Kamel, Mr.Kamel was appointed today as Chairman of the Party today by Queen Cleopatra. Mr.Kamel said today in a press conference "The Empire surely salutes the Queen and thanks her for bestowing us with these new reforms. We now must take care to reward the Queen's confidence in the people by ensuring elections run on schedule and take place in an organized manner.". Queen Cleopatra does however hold the right to replace any official within the government at any time and for any reason as a fail safe for the system. This will ensure any elected official maximizes their opportunity to serve the Empire and foster its continued success.

Once again these historic reforms are set to culminate in local and provincial election in the Empire of January 8th of next year.
