Being a well respected member at Binary Gaming is something we don't take lightly. We've seen from our past how members of low reputation can mess things up and really ruin the fun for all. Here at Binary Gaming the reputation and the amount of rep you have is a key factor of how members will respect you and your posts. Having very little or a negative amount of Rep means more members will most likely not trust you or take what you have to say very seriously. Our goal at Binary Gaming is to provide a fun and respectable environment for gamers where we can focus on having fun playing games together instead of fighting about everything. You have to earn respect, walking in as a new member and acting like a jerk won't go so well for you, likewise handing out rep when it really shouldn't be is also something that can be a problem. Below is a guide and list of ways you may earn Rep and also ways you will most definitely lose Rep.

Ways to earn Rep and when to give positive Rep to a Member

+ Members who make engaging posts and topics that interest the community

+ Someone who answers a question you had, maybe they didn't have the correct answer but if they replied nicely this is worth giving out Rep

+ Creative designs and positive emotions: Did a member design something cool? Did they post a funny video that made you laugh? This is worth giving out positive Rep.

+ Consistency: Do you see a certain member who is always active and participating, good sign to give Positive Rep

Ways to lose Rep and when to give negative Rep to a Member

- Trolling, flaming, or other rude comments towards others will decrease your rep

- If you see a member spamming or posting pointless topics then this is a good sign to give negative rep

- Abusing the Rep system, boosting others rep falsely and asking others to boost you rep will decrease your rep significantly. Likewise giving bad rep to a member who didn't deserve negative rep can get you Suspended even.

Things to keep in Mind

+ If you feel a member deserves good or bad rep then most likely they deserve what they get, a good indication is to see how much rep they currently have. If a member has a lot of rep chances are they will be more kind towards others and have more valuable posts.

- If you drop into negative rep we are keeping a close eye on you. We will allow you to recover for a short time, however if your rep is not increased back to 0 or higher soon then you might find yourself gone from this place. We do not tolerate disrespectful members or members who are constantly causing issues on the board.

- Giving negative rep to someone just becasue you don't agree with their opinion or what they feel about in a certain topic is frowned upon. Negative rep should only be given to those who are causing issues or fighting with you, not becasue you or they have different views on something.

+ If you feel your rep has been tampered with significantly (like a member or group of members are deliberately decreasing your rep) then we will look into it for you. We can track rep given so members who abuse the system too much will get caught. When you give or take away rep WE CAN SEE YOUR NAME so keep this in mind.

+ You can give an individual rep every 4 hours. So if you see the same member doing awesome stuff in a single day then they can earn more than 1 rep point in a day. If we feel the time frame of when members can give rep is too long or too short we will adjust the settings accordingly.

+ Members who have a high Rep will earn cR's bonuses from time to time and also other specialties from time to time.

+ As the board grows or staff changes are made the Rep system will play a vital role into who can become a staff member or not. So if you have plans to become part of the staff one day make sure to respect everyone.
