Nice Continuum, Streaming adds a whole new audience to what is trying to be done here. I'm sure playing a variety of games will bring in many new members. people love gaming on JTV, including myself.

yeah that is the plan. I will make my justintv page really decorative too and if I figure out how I can insert Binary gaming links and info and stuff.

I never realized how much processing power streaming uses. I was testing a 720x400 stream and both my cores on my pc were maxing out lol. Of course when i viewed the video on justintv the quality even in fullscreen was superb so I guess it's doing it's job well.

I mainly want the capture device so whenever I play any of my games that don't have a theater I can get those awesome moments on film. The justintv would be an added bonus.

Well I get to play the waiting game now. I just bought the HD PVR. I spent a good day or two researching to make sure what I needed component wise and made sure it will actually work for what I need.

Hopefully everything will arrive the same week since I need every cable for it to work lol

Seananners has Intensity, and he says streaming with it is a real pain.

luckily I didn't buy an intensity pro. That would require a powerful computer to stream with that too b/c the intensity is having to not only compute all the captured HD but also stream it online at the same time.

Do you need a composite video/analog audio splitter then? (One going to capture device, computer, stream and the other to your console).

I don't see any type of pass through feature.
It would be simple enough to use a stanard cable splitter to run one output to your 'capture card' and the other output to your TV or whatever you are playing on.

Like 3 of these (one for each audio channel and one for video) would do it:

Just an aside, if you have a desktop PC, TV tuner cards that have additional inputs can be purchased for a lot less than $50 for a crappy (IMHO) Dazzle device. Also some desktop capture cards have component input which is higher quality than the composite input you'll get with that dazzle.

I have several capture cards and devices but I found that I wanted to still be able to play in HD on my pc monitor the same time I record whatever it is I am playing. I didn't like the quality degrading so much or the gimmick way I would have to set it all up just so I could play on my pc monitor and get sub-par recording quality too lol If I was playing on a normal tv that had regular component cables it would be an easier setup but trying to setup a regular card for a pc monitor is more annoying.

Luckily Trian introduced me to the HD PVR and I found a cheap HD component to HDMI converter too.
