I am just curious if anyone else here is / or is planning to in the future live stream to places like Justin.tv and stuff? If so, what are your setting in Adobe Flash Live Encoder and stuff? I plan to have links back to Binary Gaming when I start streaming too. |

I tried once to stream and got it running unfortunately my internet sucks so bad that the settings I had to use made the stream blocky and laggy at the same time. I would just go on some jtv gaming channels and ask what they use. Imo Abs2thelutely has the best quality by far. I'd ask him. Your internet is really good though, so I'm sure you shouldn't have to many problems. |

yeah I did test streaming at 1200-1500 kbs and it seemed to be the best for the quality I was outputting. I won't know exactly what I can run until my HD PVR arrives though. Since the HD PVR doesn't use too much processing power I think I can stream an above average quality but not super amazing. I won't be able to stream amazing quality until i build a new computer. |

Pretty much, you won't be able to stream well without an upload bandwidth of 1.5Mb/s.

yeah that is the setting I used and it seemed to work well. I guess most ppl who watch live streaming have a somewhat decent internet since it's is pretty intensive on internet connection. When i do my first online stream test I'll be sure to let you all know so you can let me know if the stream is working and stuff. |

On a side note, streaming will not affect your download (and gaming experience) so long as you aren't watching your own stream, etc. |

yeah I have 5mb+ upload so I think if I watch my live stream even I'd still be ok since the live stream would only use about 1MB of that? I mean I watch youtube vids all the time while I play games online and it doesn't deter my connection. The only thing that ruins my connection is those dang players who red bar everyone else lol |

I think if you have 5mbps up then you will be just fine watching your own stream and playing online. I've never done any streaming online, but my home connection is DSL, so I have approximately 20mbps down but <1 up (768kbps up to be exact). Playing on xbox live seems to need about 20-40kbps up or ~.2 - .4 mbps up. All that to say, you should be able to stream near HD video up if you have 5mbps up. |

yeah I didn't suspect my internet connection would be the thing holding me back. I think I need a more powerful computer with 4 cores instead of 2 to be able to stream near HD quality. I have a decent graphics card and 4GB of ram but it seems streaming needs CPU power more. When all my stuff comes in the mail later this week and I set it up I will see what resolution I can output. That Flash media Live Encoder when streaming uses all the CPU. |

@N7R - I think you said in an earlier post that you ordered a Hauppauge HD PVR, and if that's the case those have their own hardware Mpeg encoders which will take some of the load off of your CPU. That's why I dislike the dazzle devices so much because they offload all the work to the CPU but the Hauppauge stuff has its own hardware video encoders. |
