If you get i7, get the 980X extreme 6 core. Or dont get i7 at all.
well it depends if that core is compatible with the motherboard i plan to buy too.

By the time I am ready to build my computer newer stuff will be out so by then I'll most likely just start over on the parts i want. All I know for sure is I plan to have i7 and at least 4 cores with 64 bit windows 7.

Does anyone know if Flash media Encoder is the only program you can use to stream live? Just wondering b/c if there happens to be others I'd like to try them as well for comparison.

Try VLC Media Player, it has a nice built in streaming thing.

With VLC though you have to specify a specific IP to stream to, right? At least that's what I saw when I tried to stream movies over my LAN before.

Either that or a URL.

VLC doesn't look like it's build solely for live streaming like FME so I'm not sure if I'd want to use it.

But it's the most compatible Media Platform out there, so...

What do you mean by "compatible" in this context?

FME is the best for streaming, end of discussion...

So my HD PVR has still not yet shipped :/

However my HD component cables for the 360 came and so did my component HD to HDMI converter box come. So I did a test playing with the converter box and there was NO lag while it converted the signal from analog to digital to my pc monitor :)
